DALTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Doris Y. Siggers, 85, of Dalton, formerly of Valley, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 in Dalton.
Funeral services were scheduled Monday, July 26 at 11 a.m. in Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with Dr. Jerome King officiating. Burial followed in Fairfax Cemetery.
Mrs. Siggers is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann (A.G.) Caldwell of Anderson, S.C.; one son, Kenneth (Marianne) Keith of Chatsworth, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kenneth (Jodi) Keith of Thomson, Ga., Brad (Mei) Keith of Bellvue, Neb., Grenelda (Rhett) Caldwell Melton of Gastonia, N.C., and Keith Caldwell of Greenwood, S.C; and six great-grandchildren.
Born Oct. 29, 1918 in Lee County, Mrs. Siggers was the daughter of the late W.O. Yarbrough and Annie Adams Yarbrough. She was first and foremost a housewife. Mrs. Siggers was employed at Fairfax Mill for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husbands Henry Keith and Leo Siggers and a sister, Virginia Leak.

MR. SMITH
VALLEY -- Mr. Emery Smith, 48, of Valley died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at The Medical Center of Columbus.
Funeral services are scheduled Tuesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. EDT at Concord Baptist Church in Bleeker with the Revs. Bud Passmore and Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ginger Smith; six daughters, Cher McClellan, Kelli McClellan and Angela McClellan, all of Valley, Ellen (Derick) Smith of Savannah, Ga., Christy (Brad) Carroll of Atlanta and Brooke Smith of Atlanta; one son, Shane McClellan of Valley; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claudy Smith of Smiths; three sisters, Pam (Scott) Riddle, Janice (Billy) Casey and Marie (Bill) Jackson, all of Smiths; one brother, Jeffery (Sherri) Smith of Smiths; and five grandchildren.
Born March 14, 1956 in Muscogee County, Ga., Mr. Smith was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Bleeker. He was employed with the Batson-Cook Company where he worked as a construction foreman.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.

LaFAYETTE -- Mrs. Emily Smith, 83, of LaFayette died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one brother, Isaac Slaughter of West Point; and one sister, Leona Jackson of Five Points.
Born Feb. 12, 1921 in Chambers County, Mrs. Smith was a member of Friendship Baptist Church #2.

WEST POINT -- Mrs. Martha "Moot" Talley Hutchinson,74, of West Point died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, July 24 at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point with the Revs. Travis Floyd, Charles Trammell, G.L. Fanning and Ty Booker officiating. Burial will follow in Marseilles Cemetery.
Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by four daughters, Virginia (Norman) Davis, Mary Alice Hutchinson, Martha (Coley) Huguley and Diane (Willie) Hutchinson, all of West Point; three sons, Willie (Marie) Talley of LaGrange, Marvin (Faye) Hutchinson of Cusseta; and Mose Hutchinson Jr. of West Point; seven step children; one sister, Mary Hall of West Point; three brothers, Addis Trammell Sr., Anderson (Betty) Trammell and Lee (Ola Pearl) Trammell, all of West Point; 39 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a special niece, Jewel Ann Smith of West Point; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins; and other relatives and friends.
Born Dec. 11, 1929, Mrs. Hutchinson was the daughter of the late Mr. John Willie Billingslea and Mrs. Jennie Bell Davidson Trammell. She was a member of the World of Life Family Center in West Point. Mrs. Hutchinson was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Hutchinson Sr., a sister Mammie Wright, Five brothers, John, Alfred, Ralph, Joe and Charles Trammell, a sister-in-law, Lizzie Kate Trammell and a son-in-law, Andrew Davis.
The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

VALLEY -- Mr. Donzell Shaw , 63, of Valley died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Burial will follow at Osanippa Cemetery.
Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, LaFaye Shaw; one daughter, Sandra Mapp of Valley; two sisters, Delene Corley of Lake Martin and Uven Warner of Valley; and his mother, Polly Rhodes of Camp Hill.
Born Dec. 10, 1940, Mr. Shaw was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. He was formerly employed with utilization with Johnston Industries.

LANETT -- Mrs. Catherine Melton Strong, 88, of Lanett died Monday, July 19, 2004 at Beverly Health Care Center in Lanett.

Mrs. Harden is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Sylvia) Johnson of Atlanta and James (Wanda) Bailey of Pooler, Ga.; one daughter, Marian Royal of Atlanta; one brother, Orstell (Mary Florence) Johnson of Atlanta; two sisters, Abella Kinney of Champaign, Ill., and Mattie Johnson of Tuskegee; and four grandchildren.

VALLEY -- Mrs. Ila Kate Mathis Adams, 74, of Valley died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Mrs. Adams is survived by two daughters, Janice Phipps of Dallas, Ga., and Beth (David) Smith of Valley; one son, Ken (Toni) Adams of Valley; one sister Frances Garner of Valley; her sister, Frances Garner of Valley; three grandsons, Adam Phipps, Zachery Smith and Andrew Smith; one step-grandson, Joseph Core; three granddaughters, Jennifer Phipps Lima, Elizabeth Adams and Kathryn Adams; and her special little friend, "Wilson."
Born Nov. 24, 1929, Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Elma Louise Andrews Mathis and James Madison Mathis. She loved her grandchildren, reading, bird watching and working puzzles. She was a member of Fairfax First Christian Church. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bennie (Doc) Mathis and James (Ike) Mathis.

LaFAYETTE -- Mrs. Lorene Sanders Lovelace, 89, of LaFayette died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette with the Rev. Wayne Barrett officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Lovelace is survived by seven children, Joyce Lashley of Cumming, Ga., Shirlene Bryant of Midway, Ga., Clarice Zeanah of Dadeville, Larry Lovelace of Riverdale, Ga., Roy D. Lovelace of Opelika, Brenda Lovelace of Dadeville and Michael Lovelace of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Born Sept, 3, 1914 in Chambers County, Mrs. Lovelace was a homemaker. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church of LaFayette.

MRS. NASH
VALLEY -- Mrs. Faye Nash, 71, of Valley died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at Langdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Thompson and the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
She is survived by her son, Donald C. Nash Jr. of Alpharetta, Ga.; her daughter, Dana Nash Pledger of Spanish Fort, Ala.; her brother, Charles Daniel of Pensacola, Fla.; two nieces, Melinda Shirley of Pensacola and Ju-Lynn Payne of Pensacola; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Nash was born Aug. 25, 1932 in Langdale. She was a graduate of Valley High School and lived for many years in Clay County, Ala., before moving back to the Valley area in 1999. She was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church and was the daughter of the late Lavelle Rutland Daniel and Britt Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Nash Sr.
The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that memorials be made to the Barrel of Love at Langdale United Methodist Church in her memory.
