TALLADEGA
Services for AC Jones, 87, of Talladega will be today at 1 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home with Rev. Tony McGowan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Sunday at Talladega Health Care Center.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Bell Jones of Talladega; three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Gary Coley of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kathleen and Cliff Hardwick of Atlanta and Sylvia and Paul Castleberry of Sylacauga; three sons and their wives, Jerry and Lova Martin Jones of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Gary and Jo Ann Miller Jones of Prattville and Carl and Elaine Young Jones of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Stephen Jones, David Jones, Zack Jones, Jay Jones, Douglas Jones and Mark Hudgins.
Mr. Jones was a native of Clay County and had lived in Talladega County many years. He was retired from Wehadkee Mills and was a member and deacon of First Freewill Baptist Church of Talladega.

Services for Laura Elizabeth Chapman Jones, 68, of New York, formerly of Talladega, will be announced by Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary.
Mrs. Jones died Monday at Beth Israel Hospital in New York.

Nix
TALLADEGA
Services for George Louis Nix Sr., 65, of Talladega will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Maryland Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Threatt officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Nix died Thursday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Marshelle Long of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Jacqueline Nix-Phillips of Oxford and Nalida Amy of Waco, Texas; a son, George L. Nix Jr. of Montgomery; his mother, Birdia Mae Taylor Nix of Talladega; six sisters, Silverene Fuller of Cleveland, Helen N. Garrett of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Merzialene Montgomery, Brenda Cook, Vivian Nix and Marion Truss, all of Talladega; two brothers, Thomas L. Nix Jr. and Joseph Nix, both of Talladega; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Chapman, Grant Duncan, William Estelle, Sherman McKenzie, Gene Scott and James Storey.
Mr. Nix attended Robert Russa High School and was a member of New Maryland Baptist Church. He was the owner of George Nix Concrete and was a former employee of Brassfield and Gorrie and Brice Construction. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lee Nix Sr., and a brother, Frank E. Nix.

FRUITHURST
Services for Hazel L. Parker, 85, of Fruithurst were March 8 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Neal Prichard and Revs. Wayne Pike and John Childs officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home of Tallapoosa, Ga. in charge.
Mrs. Parker died March 6.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Rayford and Linda Parker; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Imogene Bentley, Myna and Emil Bowman, Cookie and Claude McWhorter and June and Larry Attison; a brother, Howard Laminack of Heflin; a sister, Marie Pruitt of Cedartown, Ga.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Jeffery Bentley, Richard Bentley, Michael Chadwick, Jarrod Parker, Luke Bowman, Jeff Attison, Chris Bentley, Matthew Webb and Jonathan Webb.
Mrs. Parker was born in Cleburne County to the late Luther and Lee Nelson Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Parker; a son, Randall Parker; a daughter, Helen Chadwick; a son-law, Bill Bentley; and three grandchildren, Darrell Chadwick, Nina Hutchison and Johnny McGinnis.

Trammell
ROANOKE
Services for Jerome Trammell, 48, of Roanoke will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Faith, Hope and Charity Baptist Church in Roanoke with Rev. George L. Silmon officiating. Burial will be in Skyview Memorial Gardens in Welch with Silmon Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Trammell died Saturday at Randolph Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Trammell of Roanoke; six daughters, Yolunda Trammell and Jeanetta Trammell, both of Opelika, Anita Trammell and LaShondra Trammell, both of Roanoke, Sandy Holloway of LaFayette and Gloria Holloway of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sons, Jerome Story of LaFayette and Marcus Trammell and Montavious Trammell, both of Roanoke; his mother, Wessie Trammell of Opelika; his grandmothers, Ella Vester Barker of Chicago and Julia Cobb of Opelika; three sisters, Julia Threat of Opelika, Eltanger Trammell of Atlanta and Vanessa Oliver of Roanoke; a brother, Ricky Trammell of LaFayette; a special friend, Willie Hooks of Roanoke; 15 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lewis Trammell, and a brother, David Trammell.

Memorial services for James Donald Vaughn, 72, of Alexandria will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Bill Lucas officiating. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge.
Mr. Vaughn died Monday at National Health Care in Anniston.

Mrs. Wooten died Sunday at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Wooten of Weaver; three sons, Clellan Wooten of Alexandria, Tim Wooten of Weaver and Lee Wooten of Foley; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Stubblefield, Richard Bachmann, Paul Reaves, John Weston, Billy Prather and Eric Phillips.
Mrs. Wooten was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, Quenten Wooten and C.M. Wooten; and a daughter, Brenda Prather.

Services for Essie Elizabeth “Sis” Bain, 78, of White Plains will be today at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Owen officiating. Burial will be in White Plains Cemetery.
Miss Bain died Tuesday at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Garner of Abilene, Texas and Edna Arms of Jacksonville; three brothers, William Albert Bain of White Plains, Lonniel “L.W.” Bain of Oxford and Howard Bain of Anniston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Miss Bain was a native of Calhoun County and was a former switchboard operator at the Atlanta Athletic Club. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Albert and Lillie Bain.

Services for Betty R. Barksdale, 61, of Oxford will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Eastaboga Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at 211 Oak Ave. N.W. Lot 17, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Barksdale died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include six daughters, Vickie Lynn Blackburn, Darlene Barksdale, Wanda Spears, Janet Blackburn and Dana Gaddy, all of Jacksonville and Patricia Barksdale of Oxford; two sisters, Vera Chokpoyah of Eastaboga and Martha Waites of Talladega; 11 grandchildren, Loretta Barksdale, Eugene Barksdale, Fred Barksdale, Tony Blackburn, Heather Gaddy, Skyler Gaddy, Tori Gaddy, Tabitha Barksdale, Roy Brown, Payton Spears and Paige Spears; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Brown, Mark Brown, James Booth, Randall Gaddy, Curtis Smith and Fred Barksdale.
Mrs. Barksdale was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a Baptist.

Services for Adell Bradford, 81, of Anniston will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Ervin Funeral Chapel with Rev. A.C. McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Bradford died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include seven daughters, Otha Hunter of Rome, Ga., Jennie Harrison of St. Louis, Mo. and Helen Turmon, Alice Harris, Linda Akles, Ora Brown and Elizabeth Bradford, all of Anniston; four sons, Travis Bradford and Bernard Bradford, both of Anniston, Daniel Bradford of Macon, Ga. and Nathan Bradford of Rome; a sister, Mrs. Scottie Kirksey of Anniston; 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
