Hall

Services for Evelyn B. Hall, 85, of Anniston will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Phillip Morris officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the mausoleum.

Mrs. Hall died Monday at her home.

Survivors include two sisters, Martha Stephens and Margie Pitts, both of Anniston; four brothers, John Hall of Sidney, Australia, David Hall of Birmingham, Earl Hall of Fort Worth, Texas and Morris Hall of Florida; and a niece and several nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Mrs. Hall was a native and lifelong resident of Anniston. She was retired from Sears.

Graveside services for Melda Carolyn (Hughes) Hall, 80, of Anniston will be today at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Doug Nunnally officiating and Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in charge.

Mrs. Hall died Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include five sons, Marvin Jerry Haynie of Bratt, Fla., John L. Winnie of Jacksonville, J.B. Carlton Jr. of Port Deposit, Md. and L.L. Burt and Richard Burt, both of Anniston, 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Mrs. Hall was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

Halsey

ROANOKE

Services for Henry Jackson Halsey, 48, of Roanoke will be today at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with Rev. Cecil Halsey officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Congregational Christian Church Cemetery in Chambers County.

Mr. Halsey died Sunday at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include three sisters, Martha "Marty" Mapp of Roanoke, Laura McGraw of LaGrange and Trudy Mapp of Wadley.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Mapp, Wayne Mapp, Timothy Cox, Mike McGraw, Eddie McGraw and Sam McGraw.

Mr. Halsey was a native of West Point, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Annie Thomas Halsey; and a brother, John Calvin Halsey.

Howell

Services for Charlotte S. Howell, 46, of Anniston will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel with Rev. Harry Malone officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howell died Monday in Anniston.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth A. Howell of Anniston; her mother, Helen A. Smith of Anniston; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nell Howell and Hugh Howell of Anniston; two daughters and a son-law, Amanda Ogle Sparks and Jamie A. Sparks and Erica J. Holbert, all of Anniston; a son and his wife, Keith and Misti Howell of Anniston; a sister, Alice F. Nickerson of Eastaboga; three brothers, John W. Smith Jr. of Bowdon, Ga., Anthony K. Smith of Anniston and James D. Smith of Millerville; and four grandchildren, Brett Jackson, Chayton Holbert, Noah Sparks and Isabella Howell.

Pallbearers will be Jerry White, Derrick White, Greg Smith, Charles Birchfield, Chris Birchfield and William Nickerson.

Mrs. Howell was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a member of the United States Amateur Ballroom Dance Association and active in many community service projects. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara J. White; and two brothers, Charles E. Smith and Orlis Smith.

OXFORD

Services for Mary Etta "Minimother" Johns, 69, of Oxford will be today at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Johns died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy Heathcoe of Atlanta, Sheila Zaner of Heflin and Laketa Nunnelley of Ohatchee; five brothers, William J. Jones, John Henry Jones and J.D. Jones, all of Delta, George L. Jones of Oxford and Oliver Jones of Coldwater; a sister, Sarah Reaves of Anniston; eight grandchildren, Sheena Brooks, Tia Coker, Tamara Ledbetter, Layla Schwartz, Jessica Zaner, Clay Zaner, Eddie Nunnelley and Susan Nunnelley; and five great-grandchildren, Diana Brooks, Rebecca Ledbetter, Brittany Ledbetter, Tristian Ledbetter and Alex Schwartz.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Jones, Danny Jones, Paul Jones, Carey Jones, Lowell Jones and Harvey Reaves.

Mrs. Jones was a lifelong resident of Oxford and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Sean Webb.

Johnston

PENSACOLA, Fla.

Eric Reed Johnston, 57, of Pensacola died Friday. McNeil-Keyes Funeral Home is in charge.

Survivors include his parents, retired Army Lt. Col. Howard Johnston and Pauline Johnston of Jacksonville; two sisters, Nicole Cullen of Fenton, Mo. and Jill Gilbert of Clarksville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnston was a native of Logansport, Ind., and was a 1962 graduate of Kewanna High School in Kewanna, Ind. He attended Ball State University, Wallace State College and San Jose State University. He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion. He had been a radio broadcaster in Danville, Ill., Anniston and Pensacola, and prior to his death, he was employed by the Tom Thumb Corporation in Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Ruth Thompson and Ralph and Thelma Johnston.

JACKSONVILLE

Memorial services for retired Army Lt. Col. William George Keyes, 73, of Jacksonville will be tonight at 7 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father William Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Fort Benning, Ga. with K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in charge.

Mr. Keyes died Saturday at his home.

Memorial services for Janette Claire King, 34, of Heflin will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Crumley Chapel Church of God with Rev. Tim Coppock officiating and Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Ms. King died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Lee Brown of Heflin; her mother, Jane Clifford of Rock Hill, S.C.; a son, Michael David King of Porterdale, Ga.; a brother, Billy Clifford of Atlanta; and two sisters, Kris Krepp of Rock Hill and Patty Prime of Pensacola, Fla.

Ms. King had lived in Cleburne County several years and was a teacher.

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Jamee Charlene Lehr, 37, of Jacksonville will be today at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Revs. David Coggins and Steve May officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Trail Memorial Gardens.

Miss Lehr died Sunday at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Frances and Travis Lynn of Alexandria; three sisters, Terry Snipe of Rock Hill, S.C., Ava Wade of Jacksonville, Fla. and Cathé Lynn of Alexandria; two nieces, Keri Snipe and Cassie Snipe; six nephews, Kyle Snipe, Neil Snipe, Brandon Wade, Tyler Henderson, Landon Henderson, and Collin Henderson; and a great-nephew, Hunter Snipe-Pontus.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Owens, Ken Turner, Brett Brown, Andy McCloud, Joey Jackson and Joel Prickett. Honorary pallbearer will be Barry Coggins.

Miss Lehr was a graduate of Ohatchee High School and a member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church and the Col. Williamson Chapter 500 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her father, James Charles Lehr; and her grandparents, Hattie and Earl Lehr, and Clark and Evelyn Prickett.

The family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of East Alabama, P.O. Box 2581, Anniston, AL 36202.

Services for Gladys Folmar Madden, 78, of Lincoln will be today at 1 p.m. at Cave Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Beavers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Madden died Friday at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include her husband, Ollis Madden of Lincoln; and a cousin, Norton Heard of Mobile.

Mrs. Madden was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and an usher, She also was a member of Truss Chapter 619 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Folmar and Sadie Heard Folmar, and a brother.
