Arnold

FORT PAYNE

Services for James Lawson "Jimmy" Arnold Jr., 46, of Fort Payne will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Talladega. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Arnold died Monday at DeKalb County Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Arnold of Fort Payne; two daughters, Wendy Darlene Arnold and Crystal Dawn Arnold, both of Fort Payne; his father, James L. Arnold Sr. of Marietta, Ga.; his mother, Doris C. Arnold of Talladega; a sister, Shelly Ann Johnson of Minntonka, Minn.; two brothers, John Walter Arnold and Jeffery Casey Arnold, both of Talladega, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Arnold, Neal Arnold, Nickolas Arnold, Doug Sargent and Keith Sargent.

Mr. Arnold was a native of Talladega County and had lived in Fort Payne seven years. He was a former employee of Crown Textile and was a member of Chandler Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Hayden Arnold.

Greene

SYLVANIA, Ga.

Services for Mary Jim Greene, 78, of Sylvania, formerly of Huguley, will be today at 1 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with Rev. Dennis Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery.

Ms. Greene died Saturday at Screven County Hospital in Sylvania.

Survivors include a sister, Lathon Landreth of Opelika; a brother, Rev. Wallace Greene of Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Ms. Greene was a native of Randolph County and was the daughter of Richard Thomas and Bessie Ward Greene. She was employed at the Fairfax Mill of West Point Pepperell Co. and was a member of Huguley United Methodist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Huguley United Methodist Church, 4834 Cussetta Road, Lanett, AL 36863.

Groce

LINCOLN

Services for Jerald Groce, 20, of Lincoln will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in Talladega.

Mr. Groce died Monday at University Hospital in Birmingham.

Holcombe

FRUITHURST

Services for Allen Cornelious Holcombe, 74, of Fruithurst will be today at 2 p.m. at Upper Cane Creek Methodist Church with James Owens and Donald Leggett officiating. Burial will be in Upper Cane Creek Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the deceased's home in Fruithurst until service time.

Mr. Holcombe died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Breeden of Fruithurst; two sons, Gary Cornelious Holcombe of Oxford and David Holcombe of Ranburne, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Glass, Randy Stone, Barry Stone, Patrick Stone, Chris Holcombe, Jon Ferguson, Tyler Sherbert and Scott Stone.

Mr. Holcombe was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. He was a laborer and a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Holcombe.

Hulsey

JACKSONVILLE

Services for John D. "J.D." Hulsey, 83, of Jacksonville will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church with Revs. David Daniels and Leslie Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery with K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the church.

Mr. Hulsey died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn F. Hulsey of Jacksonville; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Don Campbell of Anniston; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Tommy and Jerri Hulsey and Homer Hulsey, all of Jacksonville, Steve and Marcia Hulsey of Fort Meade, Fla. and Benny and Sheila Hulsey of Anniston; a sister, Ruth Parris of Jacksonville; a caregiver, Debbie Baker of Jacksonville, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six nieces and nine nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tony Hulsey, Jeremy Hulsey, Craig Hulsey, Terry Hulsey, Dewight Hulsey, Dwayne Hulsey, Nick Hulsey and Jackie Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers will be musicians of Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.

Mr. Hulsey was a native of Rockmart, Ga., and had lived in Calhoun County most of his life. He was an Army World War II veteran and was retired from AOD after 38 years of service. He was a member of Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.

McCrory

HOKES BLUFF

Memorial services for Edward Clayton McCrory, 66, of Hokes Bluff will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hokes Bluff Ferry Pavilion with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge.

Mr. McCrory died Saturday at UAB.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Gladys McCrory of Hokes Bluff; five daughters, Marie Kilgo of East Gadsden, Kathy Butler of Delta, Katrina Brooks and Leah Gunter, both of Jacksonville and Jennifer Alverson of Southside; a brother, J.W. McCrory of Odenville; two sisters, Ethel Sears of Odenville and Ruth Henderson of Plant City, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Jean McCrory of Odenville; and 11 grandchildren, Joey Bertch, Christy Bertch, Michael Ashley, Geoffrey Chambers, Aaron Chambers, Kayla Brooks, Heidi Gunter, Wesley Butler, Clayton Gunter, Ryan Butler and Bryant Alverson.

Mr. McCrory was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed bluegrass and attended several festivals each year.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.

Mills

TALLADEGA

Graveside services for Elda Rada Mills, 72, of Talladega will be today at 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Memorial Park with Rev. David Daughtery officiating and Usrey Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Mills died Sunday at Northport Hospital in Northport.

Survivors include a sister, Emily D. Tarwater of Anniston; a brother, Uell Dyson of Talladega, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mills was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. She was a Baptist and a housewife.

Rushton

ROCK MILLS

Services for Hazel Estell Hall Rushton, 88, of Rock Mills will be today at 2 p.m. at Rock Mills United Methodist Church with Revs. James Harper and Mike Pope officiating. Burial will be in Wehadkee Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Rushton died Sunday at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Joe Paris of Phoenix; two sons, Tommy Rushton of LaGrange and Gene Rushton of Roanoke, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Hall, Hubert Hall, Jerry Cumbee, Johnny Cumbee, Skip Kelley and Billy Owens.

Mrs. Rushton was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was the daughter of E.W. and Donna Turner Hall. She was a homemaker and an active member of Rock Mills United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rushton, and a daughter, Donna Norred.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.

Wade

RIVERSIDE

Services for George Wade, 47, of Riverside will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Greater Grace Church in Ashville with Bishop Terry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery in Riverside with Sims Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-7 tonight at the funeral home in Talladega.

Mr. Wade died Thursday at St. Clair Regional Hospital in Pell City.

Survivors include his wife, Renee Wade of Riverside; three daughters, April Wade, Ashley Wade and Ashantee Wade, all of Riverside; a son, Darrell Wade of Riverside; his mother, Bertha Wade of Riverside; five sisters, Alberta Brown, Deloise Wade, Bertha Smith, Carolyn Collins and Lorraine Wade, all of Riverside; and four brothers, Jasper Wade of Birmingham, Howard Wade of Lansing, Mich., Malcom Wade of Lincoln and Lee Curtis Wade of Riverside.

Pallbearers will be coworkers of the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Mr. Wade was a native of Pell City and had lived in Riverside many years. He was a Marine Corps veteran and an employee of the Alabama Department of Corrections. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Wade, and a sister, Wardean Johnson.
