Graveside services for Rev. Odis Ray Dempsey, 75, of 1220 Jackson Ave. will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Revs. Keith Dempsey, Tommy Reaves and Gary Rivers officiating and Miller Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Rev. Dempsey died Thursday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ruth Dempsey; four sons and their wives, Randy and Lisa Dempsey of Birmingham, Rev. Keith and Amy Dempsey of Cohutta, Ga. and Blake and Jenny Dempsey and Dean and Kim Dempsey, all of Oxford; three sisters, Christine Harmon of Munford and Edna Edmondson and Doris Thompson, both of Oxford; and eight grandchildren, Ryan Dempsey, Daniel Dempsey, Anna Dempsey, Kristen Dempsey, Kyle Dempsey, Jared Dempsey, Brad Dempsey and Micah Dempsey.
Pallbearers will be Roger Dempsey, Greg Dempsey, Bruce Dempsey, Gary Edmondson, Douglas Harmon and Darren Thompson.
Rev. Dempsey was a lifelong resident of Oxford and was a Southern Baptist. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and was the pastor of several local Baptist churches. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Dempsey, L.D. Dempsey, Fred Dempsey and Sammy Dempsey.
The family requests no flowers.

Truss
LINCOLN
Services for Corey Dondrell Truss, 18, of Lincoln will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lincoln High School Auditorium with Elder James Truss officiating. Burial will be Pine Grove Cemetery with Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the high school an hour prior to services.
Mr. Truss died Sunday at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his parents, Loretta Truss and Donnie Howard, both of Lincoln; two sisters, Chartika L. Howard and Carone L. Howard, both of Lincoln; and his grandparents, Elder Lorenza Truss Sr., Missionary Finestra Truss and Regina Howard, all of Lincoln.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth McCluney, Marchello Wingfield, Jason Woods, Roger Perkins, Jeremy Couch and Foster Elston.
Mr. Truss was a 2001 graduate of Lincoln High School, where he was tailback and a linebacker on the football team. He rushed for over 1100 yards during his junior year. He was a member of Mt. Zebalon A.F.M. Church of God. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Howard Sr.

Mrs. Waites died Wednesday at St. Clair Regional Medical Center.

JACKSONVILLE
Services for Edna L. Bollinger, 85, of Jacksonville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bollinger died Sunday at her residence.

PIEDMONT
Services for Estelle "Stella" Johnson, 83, of Piedmont will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Gene Howard officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Johnson died Saturday at Marshall Medical Center North in Arab.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas J. Brewer of Arab.
Mrs. Johnson lived in Piedmont most of her life. She owned and operated Stella's Beauty Shop for many years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Piedmont. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. "Buck" Johnson.

Nichols
Services for William T. "Nick" Nichols, 83, of Anniston will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Revs. J.L. Hopper and Bill McCrosky officiating. Burial with military honors by Chapter 502 of the Anniston Vietnam Veterans of America will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Nichols died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Alvie Self Nichols; three daughters, Alvie Viola "Vi" Bonner, Teresa Jane Beaube and Andrea Irene Nichols, all of Anniston; a sister, Myrtle Ossie Wilson of Oneonta; seven grandchildren, Brandon William Bonner, Kevin Wayne Bonner, Alisha Darlene Copeland, JoAnna Grace Copeland, Stephanie Renee Copeland, Justin Danial Beaube and Bryan Hunter Beaube; six great-grandchildren, Matt Neighbors, Sammy Neighbors, Debbie Neighbors, Katelin Copeland, Lydia Magouirk, and Heather Magouirk; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nichols was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was a member of the depot union and active in the Wellborn Community. The family asks that donations be made to disabled veterans organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thurman and Viola Everett Nichols; three sisters, Annice Epperson, Izella Hopper and Ivalee Hill; and four brothers Rynard Nichols, Preston Nichols, Jack Nichols and Leonard Nichols.

Mrs. Tipton died Saturday at her home.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Tamba T. Burdette and Bud Burdette of Oxford; three sisters, Mary Mullinax of Anniston, Bettie Moore of Lincoln and Linda Gail Lovvorn of Newell; five brothers, Jimmy Talley of Temple, Ga., Ted Talley of Gadsden, David Talley of Anniston, Johnnie Wayne Talley of Athens and Randall Talley of Oxford; one grandson, Grant Williams and his wife Britt Williams of Anniston; one stepgrandson, Jake Johnson of Anniston.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Mrs. Tipton was a native of Calhoun County and lived here all of her life. She worked at the GE Company. Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Shine" Tipton; her parents Louis and Cora Talley; a brother, Homer Talley; and two sisters Thelma Talley and Faye Crawford.

Services for Mrs. Lois E. Van Der Hoeven, 72, of Anniston will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Robert J. Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Lawley of Anniston, Theresa Meyerhoeffer of Lebanon, Pa., and Linda Hapke of Boise, Idaho; one son, Michael Van Der Hoeven of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters, Julie Kough of Newville, Pa., and Patricia Cox of York Springs, Pa.; two brothers Jack Group of Gardens, Pa. and Rodney Group of Newville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Van Der Hoeven was a native of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., and a resident of Calhoun County for the last 19 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marcel Van Der Hoeven; a sister, Mary Knizer; and a brother, Frank Group.
The family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services for Edna L. Bollinger, 85, of 119 D St. will be today at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Revs. Michael Brown and Cecil Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Bollinger died Sunday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Vann B. Bollinger of Jacksonville; a daughter, Glenda Gale Phillips of Jacksonville; a son, Billy Leon Raines of Jacksonville; a sister, Sue McCollum of Texas; a brother, Bennie Lee Burgess of Ohio; and nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tim Phillips, Doug Phillips, Tim Wilkins, Scott Wilkins, Steven Curvin and Mike Overcash.
Mrs. Bollinger was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church in Alexandria. She was retired from Union Yarn Mill. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
