Busta

TALLADEGA

Private family services for Lillian V. Busta of Talladega will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Busta died Tuesday at Talladega Health Care Center.

Survivors include a brother, George Vondrasek of Cleveland; three sisters, Ellie Ifsich of West Salem, Ohio, Katherine Mooney of Mogadore, Ohio and Mildred Round of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sons, Joseph F. Busta Jr. of Talladega and James V. Busta of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Lynne Winterton of Greenville, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Brian Busta, Sarah Armstrong, Kaci M. Byrd and Jamie.

Mrs. Busta, the daughter of Victor and Jenny Fisher Vondrasek, was born in Windsor, Ohio. She was a former resident of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., where she was the owner of a children's apparel shop. She was active with the parent-teacher association, the Cub Scouts, the Brownies and the Ft. Myers Beach Public Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Busta Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Busta Family Endowment Fund, Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind Foundation, P.O. Box 698, Talladega, AL 35161.

Corrigan

OXFORD

Services for Robert S. Corrigan, 53, of 10 Chateau Lane will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel with Revs. Ralph Barrow and Jim Robey officiating. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Corrigan died Tuesday.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Corrigan of Anniston; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Corrigan of Tucson, Ariz. and Melvin Kuder of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a daughter and her husband, Heather Corrigan Blevins and Bart Blevins of Birmingham; a son, Chad Corrigan of Anniston; two sisters, Sherry Conder of Pleasant Valley and Vickie Winger of Tucson.; and a brother, David Corrigan of Sykesville, Md.

Mr. Corrigan was a native of Davenport, Iowa and had lived in Anniston seven years. He worked with the government for 34 years and had held numerous positions. He was transferred to Anniston Army Depot in June 1994 and had retired as general manager of business operations. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and an avid golfer. He received many awards including the Secretary of the Army Award for Outstanding Achievement in Material Acquisition, the Frank S. Besson Memorial Award and the Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 920 17th St. South, Birmingham, AL 35205; or the American Cancer Society, 706 Sixth Ave. N.E., Jacksonville, AL 36265.

Johnson

GRAHAM

Services for Fred L. Johnson, 80, of Graham will be today at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Revs. Gary Henderson and Tony Morris officiating. Burial will be in Herren's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Johnson died Monday at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Survivors include his wife, Curtis Herren Johnson of Graham; a son, David Johnson of Wedowee; a sister, Katherine Rampy of Woodland; two brothers, Martin Johnson of Omaha and Earnest Johnson of Fayetteville, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Ben Johnson and John Johnson, both of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Don Gay, Rayford Edmondson, Kenneth Spratlin, Steve Johnson, Joey Burns and Steve Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson, the son of Robert Bob Johnson and Ethel Earnest Johnson was a native of Randolph County. He was an World War II Army veteran and a self-employed farmer. He was the owner of Johnson's Barbecue and a deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Kilgore

HEFLIN

Services for Evelyn Marie Kilgore, 77, of Heflin will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kilgore died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Parker

PIEDMONT

Services for Rev. D.E. Parker, 65, of Piedmont will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home.

Mr. Parker died Sunday at his home.

Rivers

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Eunice Cates Rivers, 73, of 542 Aderhodt Mill Road will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ray Crump officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rivers died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Bice of Jacksonville and Mary Landon Rivers of Huntsville; three sons, John L. Rivers Jr. of Rantoul, Ill., Edward H. Rivers of Rome, Ga. and Henry P. Rivers of Albany, Ga.; three sisters, Ruby Bridges of Saks and Louise Clark and Mary Poe, both of Weaver; a brother, Norman W. Cates of Weaver; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bridges, Roy Clark, Thomas Rivers, Mike Poe, Raymond Ayers and Kenneth Bice. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Builders Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church of Weaver.

Mrs. Rivers was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was retired from Regional Medical Center after 37 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Rivers; and two brothers, John Cates and Bill Cates.

Robinson

Services for Billie Calvin Robinson, 71, of Piedmont will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Woody Lee officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Robinson died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Hulsey Robinson of Piedmont; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Sid Borden of Cullman; two sons and their wives, David and Vickie Robinson of Piedmont and Michael and Lori Robinson of Monticello, Ga.; two sisters, Sue Williams of Gadsden and Earon Goggins of Houston; three brothers, Arthell Robinson and Charles Robinson, both of Houston and James Robinson of Gadsden; five grandchildren, Christopher Borden, Clay Borden, Christopher Robinson, Jennifer Parrish and Patrick Robinson; and three great-grandchildren, Sierra Robinson, Gracie Parrish and Carter Borden.

Pallbearers will be family.

Mr. Robinson was a native of Blount County and had lived in Piedmont 45 years. He was Piedmont's only locksmith for many years and was retired from Fort McClellan. He was an Army veteran and had served in the National Guard for many years. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Leona Robinson; and a brother, Marvin Robinson.

Bowen

ROANOKE

Services for Jon Kenneth "K.B." Bowen, 43, of Roanoke will be today at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Revs. Frank Foster and Charles Fetner officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens.

Mr. Bowen died Wednesday at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brewer Bowen of Roanoke; a son, Kenneth Wayne Bowen of Roanoke; his parents, John and Wilma Bowen of Roanoke; his grandparents, Henry and Camilla Richardson of Woodland; and a brother, Davey Bowen of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Render Yarbrough, Jr. Carter, Rusty Guizar, Keith Yerta, Randall Griffin, Frank Foster Jr., David Vollenweider and Harold Whitaker.

Mr. Bowen was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was employed at Candlewick Yarns and a member of Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 66447 Alabama Highway 22, Rock Mills, AL 36274.

Carson

Services for Bennie Frank Carson, 76, of Wadley will be today at 10 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Teel officiating. Burial will be in Forrester's Chapel Church Cemetery.

Mr. Carson died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, May Anne Augusta Brown Carson; a son and his wife, Barry and Pam Carson of Wadley; three daughters, Donna Smith and her husband, Frankie, of Dallas, Ga., Brenda Carson of Wadley and Kathy Scarantino and her husband, Martin, of Douglasville, Ga.; a sister, Annie Ruth Harris of Wadley; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Carson was born in Wadley and was the son of John W. and Beatrice Britt Carson. He was a former resident of Hiram, Ga., where he had served as fire chief. He was a Navy World War II veteran and was retired from Lockheed Marietta. He was a lifelong member of Forrester's Chapel Methodist Church.

Curry

ALPINE

Services for Robert J. Curry, 72, of Alpine will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary with Rev. Cornelius Brown III officiating. Burial will be in Kidd Street Cemetery.

Mr. Curry died Monday at his home.

Survivors include two daughters, Mae Line Lawson of Talladega and Vinnie Lee Reynolds of Alpine; his mother, Vinnie J. Swain of Alpine; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Willie Curry Jr., Stanley Curry, Tommy Rivers, Nathaniel Seals and Gary Curry.

Mr. Curry was a member of Kingston Baptist Church and was a former employee of Bemis Bag Company. He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Elston, and a brother, Willie Frank Curry.
