Funeral services for Misty Ciara Johnson, 17, of Fairview will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Ken Allen officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Miss Johnson died Tuesday, Aug. 10. She was born July 23, 1987, in Pensacola, Fla., to Earnest Dean and Melinda Ellinburg Johnson. She was a student at Fairview High School. She was an animal lover who loved and cared for all kinds of animals. She was the most wonderful daughter and sister in the world to her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sewell and Eva Mae Ellinburg and Ernest and Delephia Johnson.
Survivors include her parents; and a brother, Chris Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Noveleene Bates
Funeral services for Noveleene Bates, 75, of Crane Hill will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Tim Aris officiating, with Burial in Prospect Cemetery.

Mrs. Bates died Friday, Aug. 13, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1929, in Cullman County to Fred P. and Annie Phillips Nesmith. She was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert Bates; and a sister, Bobbie Kulis.
Survivors include a son, Frank V. Bates of Crane Hill; a daughter, Alice Marie Bates of Tuscaloosa; a brother, Fred M. Nesmith of Cullman; two sisters, Norma Rodgers of Cullman and Mary Ruth Rodgers of Pleasant Grove; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Roberts and Naomi Medlock; special friends, David and Becky McNair; two grandchildren, Mollie Marie (Charles) Jameson and Amanda Denise Russell; four great-grandchildren, Justin James Humphries, Matthew Austin Burchfield, Anita Jessica Russell and Aja Josephine Russell.

Officer David Scott Brannon
Funeral services for Officer David Scott Brannon, 33, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church, Pastor Bob Kurtz and the Rev. Scott Pattillo officiating, with Burial Sardis No. 2 Cemetery in Winston County. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Officer Brannon died Aug. 12, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Oct. 11, 1970. He graduated from Vinemont in 1989, He held degrees from Jacksonville State University and Athens State University. He taught at Cullman High School for two years. He was a police officer at Huntsville Police Department for one year and was currently with the Cullman City Police Department for the last four years.
Survivors include his fiancée, Kim Lynn of Cullman; his parents, Charles David and Kelly Rodgers Brannon of Addison; a sister, Allison Jill (Shane) Tuggle of Cullman; a nephew, Ty Tuggle of Cullman; three aunts, Doris McClain, Elaine Rodgers and Brenda Brannon; three uncles, Tony McClain, Danny Rodgers and Rickie Brannon; his grandparents, Winnie Lee Rodgers and the late Orbie Rodgers, and the late J.R. and Nellie Brannon; and his beloved pet, Sambo.
Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Brannon's family.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Cullman City Police Department Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Mr. Davis died Friday, Aug. 13, at Moulton Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 11, 1926, to Herman and Pearlie Lay Davis. He served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bunker Hill during World War II (1944-1946). He graduated from Cold Springs High School in 1947 and served as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He was a 33rd degree Mason in the Crane Hill Lodge #554 and a member of the Lay Family Genealogy Association.
Survivors include two sons, Danny (Sue) Davis of Delray Beach, Fla., and Darron (Jane) Davis of Crane Hill; two daughters, Diane (Glenn) Blanton of Decatur and Dawn (Mike) Moranha of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Duwayne Davis; one sister, Ruth Davis; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bynum died Saturday, Aug. 14, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Alabama to Arthur and Roxie Bryson Bynum. He was a retired electronics instructor at Redstone Arsenal, an Auburn graduate and a veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was a prisoner of war in World War II, a past master of Baileyton Masonic Lodge F. and A.M. and a deacon and past clerk at Holly Pond First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jerry and James Bynum.
Survivors include his wife, Orene Patterson Bynum of Hanceville; one son, Bruce (Lisa) Bynum of Holly Pond; two daughters, Sandra (Jack) Capps of Cullman and Beverly (David) Haynes of Blount Springs; one brother, Delbert Bynum of Blountsville; six grandchildren, Jason (Stormmi) Bynum, Heather (Eric) Rauch, Claire Haynes, Marilyn Haynes, Tabitha Bynum and Naomi Capps; one step-grandson, Tyler Wilson; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah Horton, Evan Horton and Tristin Bynum.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, Aug. 30, in Hanceville. She was born in Blountsville on April 26, 1909, to Johnny Russel and Lenora Lowery Fallin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George M. Johnson; three sons, Howard, Samuel and Russel Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Mandy Faulkner; four brothers, Johnny, Claudie, W.B. and Oan Fallin; and a sister, Lena Sellers.
Survivors include a son, Cecil (Georgia) Johnson of Warrior; three daughters, Lottie (Austin) Terry and Marie (James) Green, both of Hanceville, and Martha Patterson of Sumiton; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Cullman and Vivian Johnson of Hanceville; a sister, Grace Neal of Bessemer; five stepbrothers, Olan Fallin of Trussville, Jesse Fallin, Brisco Fallin and Zeke Fallin, all of Cleveland, and Glenn Fallin of Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Morgan died Sunday, Aug. 29, in Cullman. She was born in Birmingham on July 30, 1918, to Edward Eugene and Odell Day Mullinax. She was a member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church and a resident at the Jacob House Assisted Living in Hayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Pauline) Hawkins of Bremen and Jerry Hawkins of Good Hope; two grandsons, Rodney Hawkins of Crane Hill and Jeremy Hawkins of Good Hope; and a granddaughter, April Hawkins of Birmingham.

Randy Albert Powe

Mr. Powe died Tuesday, Aug. 31, at his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1953, in Cullman to Albert and Eva Moon Powe. He was a sales associate with Wal-Mart and a master sergeant of the 142nd Signal Brigade in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother; his wife, Elaine Breed Powe of Cullman; a son, Travis (Selena) Powe of Jasper; a grandson, Damion Powe of Jasper; a sister, Dena (Richard) Brown of Hayden; a mother-in-law, Faye Breed of Cullman; a sister-in-law, Anne Wilson of Cullman; two brothers-in-law, Bill Wilson and Richard Breed, both of Cullman; three nieces, Jennifer (Tony) Jackson, Karena Weiss and Dana (Brian) Crane, all of Cullman; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Bonnie Jo Peterson
A memorial service for Bonnie Jo Peterson, 64, of Eva, formerly of Gary, Ind., will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Hamby's Chapel United Methodist Church in Eva.
Mrs. Peterson died Aug. 30, 2004.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1940, to Waldo and Hazel Larmon, in East Chicago, Ind.
She is survived by two sons, Ron (Mable) Potchen of Rushville, Ind. and Kevin Potchen of Whiting, Ind.; a daughter, Donna Armes of Eva; a brother, Ronnie (Jeannie) Larmon of Highland, Ind.; six sisters, Phyllis Barron and Barbara (Bob) Nooner of Eva, Dorothy (Jerry) Langley of Clearwater, Fla., Pat (Jim) Lee of Cartersville, Ga., Kathy (Jerry) Lennard of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Debbie (Jim) Dunn of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ronnie Potchen and Kyle Potchen, both of Gary, Ind., Cristy Potchen of Pennsylvania, Penn., Bill (Mandy) Potchen of Lake Station, Ind., and Joe Potchen of Eva; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepmother, Rose Larmon.

Mrs. Cochran died Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1923, in Cullman. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a homemaker and farm worker and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed sewing. She was a lifelong member of Bethsadia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Newton and Lola Ilene Carden Wix; her husband, William "Clyde" Cochran; and two brothers, Ithel and Marcel Wix.
Survivors include four sons, Buddy (Jo Ann) Cochran, Bobby (Frances) Cochran, Donald (Pam) Cochran and Steve (Judy) Cochran; two daughters, Judy Cochran Hardy and Pam (Ronnie) Scott; three brothers, Lecile (Olvia) Wix, Gary (Laverne) Wix and Doug (Allison) Wix; two sisters, Jackie Bowen and Norma (Red) Graveman; five grandsons, Stan (Leah) Cochran, Bobby Cochran Jr., David Cochran, Shane Cochran and Alan (Chanda) Scott; six granddaughters, Shan (Greg) Goodlett, Tammy (Kip) Barber, Karla Chandler, Amanda (Scott) Hallmark, Heather (Chris) Fuller and Kellie Scott; nine great-grandchildren, Clint and Caroline Goodlett, Will Franklin Cochran, Casandra (Jeremy) Turner, Dustin Barber, Chase Chandler, Dillon Palmer, Jessica Hallmark and Samantha Striker; and two great-great-grandchildren, Christian and Brenden Turner.
