Jesse Charles Alexander

Funeral services for Jesse Charles Alexander, 75, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Joe Cook officiating, with Burial in Laodocia Cemetery in Hanceville.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alexander died Monday, June 14, in Cullman. He was born in Cullman County on Feb. 16, 1929, to Grady and Leola Edwards Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sisters, Gayle Grantham of Hanceville and Jimmie Dee Graves of Fultondale; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Millard 'Bud' Barnett

Funeral services for Millard "Bud" Barnett, 76, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, Bill Cook officiating, with Burial in Duck River Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Barnett died Tuesday, June 15, in Hanceville.

James B. 'Boots' Hill

Funeral services for James B. "Boots" Hill, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, Brother Sam Hollis and Dr. Clyne Adams officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hill died Tuesday, June 15, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1929, to William Jeff and Pearl Humphries Hill. He was a realtor/general contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three sons, Joe (Teresa) Hill of Hoover, Jim (Ann) Hill of Kennesaw, Ga., and Jeff (Jennifer) Hill of Cullman; two daughters, Angie (Charley) Duncan of Millbrook and Amy (Bruce) Farr of Cullman; his former wife, Sue Hill of Cullman; four brothers, Elvin Hill of Columbiana, Roy Hill of Cullman and Charles Hill and Jerry Hill, both of Lineville; three sisters, Mattieleen Todd of Jacksonville, Catherine Britt of Athens and Maudine Birtchfield of Jonesboro, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Susan Marie Duncan, John Hill and Jesse, Jake and Joey Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cullman City School System.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Lisa Gail Atchley Gibson

Funeral services for Lisa Gail Atchley Gibson, 31, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel with Burial in Brooksville Baptist Cemetery in Blount County.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gibson died Monday, June 14, in Cullman County. She was born Dec. 24, 1972, in Oneonta to Travis O'Neal and Glenda Gail Rhodes Atchley. She worked in computer component assembly for Pressac Inc.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Gibson.

Survivors include her parents, who live in Cullman; one son, Joshua Dale Gibson of Cullman; and three brothers, Michael Lynn Atchley of Gold Ridge and Timothy Ray Atchley and Terry O'Neal Atchley, both of Cullman.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Cheyenne Kiley Turner

Private graveside services for newborn Cheyenne Kiley Turner will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Beech Grove Cemetery.

Cheyenne Kiley is survived by her mother and father, Jessica and Derek Turner; grandparents Donald and Denise Parker, Bruce and Rachel Turner and grandmother Barbara Frank; great-grandparents Fred and Thelma Turner and Sunny and Floellen Day; great-great-grandmothers Agnes Smith and Florence Young; uncles Dewayne Parker and Dawson Turner; aunts Jennifer and Christina Parker and Sheena and Tabitha Turner; and cousins D.J. and Shelby.

Cheyenne died at UAB Hospital on Monday, June 14, 2004.

Funeral arrangements are handled by Williams-McCracken Funeral Home.

Helen Regina Osborne

Funeral services for Helen Regina Osborne, 36, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, Barry Mitchell officiating, with Burial in Blanch Cemetery.

Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Osborne died Tuesday, June 15, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 6, 1968, in Athens to David Alfred and Peggy Ann Collins.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy Osborne of Cullman; two daughters, Ashley Cantrell of Athens and Amanda Collins of Cullman; one son, Dewight Collins of Cullman; her mother, Peggy Ann Collins of Cullman; four brothers, David O. Collins and Donnie Collins, both of Cullman; Wayne Collins of Madison; and Stanley Collins of Athens; three sisters, Melanie Greenhaw of Vinemont, Beverly Collins of Moulton and Tasha Bailey of Cullman; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charley Klopfer, Phillip Collins, Tommy Klopfer, Ricky Bullington, Johnathon Collins, Fred Taylor, Corey Darnell and Larry Daniels.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Michael George Johns

Funeral services for Michael George Johns, 36, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Ralph Andrews officiating, with Burial in Bowmans Chapel Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johns died Thursday, June 17, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1968, in Bangor, Maine, to Nelson M. and Judy Hamilton Johns.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Johns.

Survivors include his parents; his ex-wife, Dina Johns; one son, Connor Johns; one brother, Travis (Paula) Johns of Biloxi, Miss.; three sisters, Michelle (Fred) Davis of Vinemont and Sandra Hessom of Cullman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Harbison Sr.

Charles Harbison Sr., 65, died Thursday, June 10, 2004.

He was cremated Sunday, June 13, at the Abanks Mortuary and Crematory in Birmingham.

Harold Denton

Funeral services for Harold Denton, 89, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Rusty Hodges officiating, with Burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Winston County.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Denton died Friday, June 18, at Hartselle Medical Center.

Omia Mae Selvage

Funeral services for Omia Mae Selvage, 77, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19 , 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Home, Larry Pruett and Chris Barnett officiating, with Burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Selvage died Thursday, June 17, in Cullman. She was born in Cullman County on Aug. 27, 1926, to Euel and Nancy Savanah Stricklin Allred.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Joan (William) Smith of Hanceville and Judy (Warren) Renshaw of Hanceville; three grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Marissa Smith and Amanda Renshaw; two brothers, Milton Allred and Bobby Allred, both of Cullman; three sisters, Imogene Chappell and Genora Brown, both of Bremen, and Rachel Bridgemon of Addison.

Visitation was Friday.

Vondell Hamilton Baker Speegle

Vondell Hamilton Baker Speegle, 86, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2004, at Brocks County Hospital in Quitman, Ga. She was born on Nov. 19, 1917, in Cullman County where she resided for 78 years before moving to Georgia.

In Cullman she worked at Yost Gift Shop and for over 20 years at Kessler's Florist before owning and managing Pine Dell Farm. She was married to Herbert Spencer Baker on April 9, 1938, and was widowed in 1945. She married Troy R. Speegle on May 25, 1972, nd was widowed in 1976.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, Ester Lee Jones Hamilton Searcy and Lossie Earl Hamilton; and stepfather, Leo Dexter Searcy; sisters, Christine Hamilton Hays and Vera Hamilton Warren; and brother, Everette Brinnon Searcy.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jayne Baker Bennett and Eugene Clinton Bennett of Thomasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Lynn Bennett Byrd of Monroeville, E. Clinton Bennett of Houston, Texas' and Meredith Vondell Bennett of Thomasville, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Kate, Abby, Jon and Carter.

She is also survived by brothers, Dr. James Wayne Searcy of Cullman and Dr. Robert Dexter Searcy of Athens; sisters, Billie Searcy Smothers of Addison, Betty Searcy Hayes of Cullman, Frances Searcy Parker of Florence and Juanita Searcy Borden of Stockbridge, Ga.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Moss-Service Funeral Home in Cullman (734-1821). Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 19, with the funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vondell Speegle to Presbyterian Home, 1901 West Screven St., P.O. Box 407, Quitman, Ga. 31643.

Jackie Faye Irvin

Funeral services for Jackie Faye Irvin, 67, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home in Talladega, with Burial at Spring Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irvin died Thursday, June 17, at her residence.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Artes Olen 'Pop' Waldrep

Artes Olen "Pop" Waldrep, 72, a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Arley, died Sunday, June 13, 2004. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Arley Congregational Church with Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the church.

Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will direct.

Mr. Waldrep was owner and founder of Olen Waldrep and Sons Roofing of Davie, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty June Waldrep of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sons, Gary Waldrep of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Artes Waldrep of Green Acres, Fla.; daughters, Phyllis Tillery of Arley, Lawanda Joslyn of Debary, Fla. and Sheila Rose of Orange City, Fla.; brothers, William Waldrep of Florida and Billy Waldrep of Alabama; sisters, Clera Benson of Alabama, Vera Murphy, Clinie Cleghorn and Charlsey, all of Florida, and Clara Elliott of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Larry Jerome Hudson

Funeral services for Larry Jerome Hudson, 61, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Woods officiating.

Mr. Hudson died Saturday, June 19, in Montgomery. He was born July 11, 1942, in Hanceville to Johnny Paul and Maggie Armstrong Hudson.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Faye Caldwell Hudson of Hanceville; two sons, Joseph Hudson of Florida and Jeremy League of Winston County; one daughter, Christina League of Hanceville; one brother, Glenn Hudson of Texas; two sisters, Oneara Walker of Hanceville and Flora Glasscock of North Walter; and five grandchildren, Casey Hudson, Cassie Hudson, Ashley Hudson, Odis League and Abigail League.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
