Funeral services for Linda Sue Bowlin, 57, of Shelby will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Collins-Burke Funeral Chapel, J.D. Dickerson officiating, with Burial in Shady Grove Cemetery in Bremen.

Collins-Burke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bowlin died Thursday, Feb. 26, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Earl and Lucile Scott.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa (Randall) Light of Jasper; four sisters, Doris Ragsdale of Gardendale, Elaine Anderson of Calera, Judy Carter of Ashville and Ritchi Anderson of Briarfield; a brother, Larry Scott of Wedowee; and two grandchildren, Anthony Morrison and Brandson Morrison, both of Jasper.

Pallbearers will be Ray Light, Michael Moore, Jay Ragsdale, Scott Ragsdale and Shane Scott.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Grady Lee Bryson

Funeral services for Grady Lee Bryson, 75, of Falkville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Nichols Funeral Chapel in Addison, with Burial in Kemp Cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bryson died Thursday, Feb. 26, in Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brady Bryson.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Johnson; his mother, Estella Bryson; four sons, Ray Bryson, Roy Bryson, Bobby Bryson and Steve Bryson; two daughters, Judy Ellis and Janet Bryson; and two brothers, Gurvies Bryson and J.W. Bryson.

Visitation was Friday.

Dewey G. Holaway

Funeral services for Dewey G. Holaway, 82, of Falkville will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Peck Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Kenneth Weldon officiating, with Burial in Union Hill Cemetery.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Holaway died Friday, Feb. 27, at Falkville Healthcare Center. He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Morgan County to John Lewis and Alice Pitman Holaway. He was a farmer and a crane operator for Decatur Iron and Steel. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Sherrell Holaway and Roger Holaway, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Jane Hill of Hartselle and Wilma Hall of Falkville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Hill, Jason Hill, Shawn Holaway, Michael Holaway, Logan Holaway and Barry Hall.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Homer 'Pete' James

Graveside services for John Homer "Pete" James, 63, of Empire will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Steve Rodgers officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James died Thursday, Feb. 19, at his residence. He was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Jefferson County to Homer and Ruth Box James.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Lloyd James; and a son, Jesse James.

Survivors include his mother; two sons, Jimmy (Katrina) James and Jeff James, both of Cullman; a daughter, Angela (Dewayne) Armstrong of Cullman; six brothers, Elbert James, Bobby Joe James, William James, Ronnie James, Donnie James and Vernon James ; three sisters, Lois, Verlene and Joyce; and four grandchildren, Kody and Tiffani Armstrong and Nicole and Autumn James.

No visitation is planned.

Charles Hugh Hogan

Funeral services for Charles Hugh Hogan, 71, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Moss-Service Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Jimmy Baker officiating, with Burial in Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Fairview.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hogan died Saturday, Feb. 27, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1932, to Herbert Lee and Grace Green Hogan. He was a route manager for American Bread Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Teichmiller Hogan; two sons, Jerry Hogan and Edwin (Rhonda) Hogan; two daughters, Donna (John) Gamble and Gayla (Tim) Earl; a brother, Darwin Hogan; three sisters, Myrtle Sticher, Martha Smith and Margie Keith; and six grandchildren, Ashley Graves, Cessily Earl, Mark Gamble, Scott Gamble, Brett Hogan and Blake Hogan.

Visitation was Saturday.

Homer Lee Butts

Funeral services for Homer Lee Butts, 84, of Blountsville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Mountain Grove Baptist Church, Jerry Hackney and Bruce Dial officiating, with Burial in South Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Blountsville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Butts died Friday, Feb. 27, at his residence. He was born to Charlie and Ann Dingler Butts. He was a retired carpenter, working in home building.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde Butts and Albert Butts; and three sisters, Earline Washburn, Doris Smith and Ida Mae McKleroy.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Butts of Blountsville; two sons, Terry (Barbara) Butts and Paul (Judy) Butts, both of Blountsville; two daughters, Drusilla (Joe) Walker and Rita (Donnie) Southern of Oneonta; a brother, Vernon (June) Butts of Cullman; a sister, Lillian Hammond of Blountsville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Trent Butts, David Butts, Allen Butts, Anthony Beason, Joey Walker, Arnold Floyd and Jason Epps.

Visitation was Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thelma Joyce Mooney Mohon

Funeral services for Thelma Joyce Mooney Mohon, 70, of Guntersville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Albertville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Cary Sims officiating, with Burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery near Blountsville.

Albertville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mohon died Friday, Feb. 27. She was born July 18, 1933. She was retired from Lake Guntersville State Park. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one sister, Nettie Jaco of Boaz; a special nephew, Christopher Shane Jaco; and a special friend, Katie Hollis.

Pallbearers will be David Knox, David Saint, Frank Mooney, Jordan Mooney, Kim Ansley and Danny Hopper.

Visitation was Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sandy Powell Cappadocia

Memorial services for Sandy Powell Cappadocia, 51, of Guntersville will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at Arab Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Tom Earwood officiating.

Arab-Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cappadocia died Thursday, Feb. 26, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 28, 1952, in Marshall County to Arno and Syble Davis Powell. She was a homemaker and a 1970 graduate of Fairview High School. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald "Ron" Cappadocia of Guntersville; one son, Shane Cappadocia of Guntersville; her parents, both of Jasper; one godson, Josh Greene of Atlanta; one brother, Ted Powell of Hartselle; one sister, Anita Allbritten of Baileyton; three nieces, Amy Linton and Laurie Ford, both of Baileyton, and Ali Powell of Hartselle; and one nephew, Justin Powell of Hartselle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Listra Baptist Church in Baileyton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bulah Joyce Wynn

Funeral services for Bulah Joyce Wynn, 77, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Blair Congregational Methodist Church, James Anderton officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wynn died Sunday, Feb. 29 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1926, in Winston County. She was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 35 of Cullman, and the Blair Congregational Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Edna Meigs Maze; her daughter, Katherine Shoemaker; two sisters, Frances Alexander and Wynell Hudson; and a grandson, Martin Shoemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Dallas Wynn of Vinemont; four sons, Tony (Nancy) Wynn, Charles (Gail) Wynn, Keith (Sherry) Wynn of Cullman and Thomas Wynn of Decatur; two sisters, Wylene Landry of Toney and Meiglee Roy of Cullman; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was Monday.

Martha Jane Spinks

Funeral services for Martha Jane Spinks, 97, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Keith Gambill officiating, with Burial in Bethlehem East Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Spinks died Monday, March 1, in Hanceville. She was born in Blount County on Feb. 11, 1907, to Charlie and Lelia Burris Mickle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Spinks; two daughters, Winifred June Spinks and Mabel Jane McBrayer; a daughter-in-law, Mary Frances Spinks; a son, Andrew Bud Spinks; and her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. (Earlie) Carden; five sons, Bennie C. (Bobbie) Spinks, Charlie R. (Cindy) Spinks, Jack N. (Rennie) Spinks, Robert G. Spinks and Walter F. (Marjorie) Spinks; and a sister, Renee Whaley.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jerry Wayne McDowell

Graveside services for Jerry Wayne McDowell, 53, of Hanceville were Monday, March 1, 2004, at Duck River Cemetery, the Rev. Joe Cook officiating.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McDowell died Sunday, Feb. 29, at Haleyville. He was born in Cullman County on Aug. 15, 1950, to Raymond and Mildred Barnett McDowell.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three brothers, Richard Evans of Birmingham, Bobby (Jean) McDowell of Geraldine and Ricky McDowell of Birmingham; two sisters, Jan Mize and Barbara Self, both of Birmingham; an aunt, Betty (Lonnie) Grigsby of Birmingham; and an uncle, Bud Barnett of Hanceville.

Roger Dale Nunnelley

Funeral services for Roger Dale Nunnelley, 42, of Cullman were Monday, March 1, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Michael Floyd and the Rev. Whitley officiating, with Burial in Simcoe Methodist Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Nunnelley died Saturday, Feb. 28, at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1962. He was a painter.

Survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Nunnelley of Decatur; her parents, James and Bonnie Nunnelley of Cullman; a brother, Billy (Jeanette) Nunnelley of Cullman; and three nephews.

Visitation was Sunday.

Caroline Otillia Hartwig

Funeral services for Caroline Otillia Hartwig, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Pastor Warren Ruland officiating, with Burial in Hartwig Cemetery.

Mrs. Hartwig died Monday, March 1, at Woodland Village Health Care Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Cullman County to Julius and Katherine Wolff Hartwig. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the Chair Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers, Emil, George, Will, Frank, Julius, Henry, Gust and August Hartwig; and two sisters, Emma Hartwig and Esther Jennings.

Survivors include three brothers, Alvin (Virginia) Hartwig, Karl (Mary Lou) Hartwig and Clarence (Gay Nell) Hartwig of Cullman; a sister, Lena Henry of Cullman; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Hartwig of Cullman.

Pallbearers will be James Jennings, Charles Jennings, Allen Jennings, Marlin Jennings, Larry Jennings and Terry Rushing.

Visitation was Tuesday.
