Funeral services for Vonda Lee Grimmett, 86, of Cullman were Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 at Kinney Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Wayne Williams, Dillon Calvert and Dan Anderson officiating, with Burial in Kinney Grove Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Grimmett died Friday, Oct. 10 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1917 in Cullman County to P.H. and Nannie Dollar Graves. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Kinney Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Eskel Grimmett.

Survivors include two sons, Elwin (Linda) Grimmett of Cullman and Edward Grimmett of Bremen; a brother, Durehl Graves of Sylacauga; three sisters, Helen Dahlke of Smyrna, Ga., Jenelle Sullivan of Gadsden and Elene Addison of Bremen; three grandsons, Sidney Grimmett, Bryan Grimmett and Jason Grimmett, all of Cullman; three granddaughters, Angela Miller of Logan, W. Va., Tina Lindsey of Vinemont and Cindy Grimmett McCollum of Cullman; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday.

Homer Peak

Funeral services for Homer Peak, 77, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the funeral home.

Doris Narine McCutcheon

Funeral services for Doris Narine McCutcheon, 84, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Perry Brown officiating, with Burial in Hambys Chapel Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCutcheon died Monday, Oct. 13 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 28, 1919 in Carol County, Ga. She was an inspector for Cullman Lingerie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Della Mae Smith Beal.

Survivors include her husband, Leon McCutcheon of Vinemont; and four aunts, Sybil Gay, Mildred Bonds, Juanita Latta and Imogene Price.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James Kenneth Cammon

Funeral services for James Kenneth Cammon, 74, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Charles Sparks officiating, with Burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cammon died Monday, Oct. 13 at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 7, 1929 in Cullman County to John Robert and Jeanette Persall Cammon. He was a driver for Pet Milk (Flavor Rich). He was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army from April 1948 to Jan. 1949.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Franklin Cammon; a daughter, Alesia Cammon Hitt; a brother, Bernard Cammon; and three sisters, Frances Boyd, Athalean Moody and Polly Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Moore Cammon of Decatur; three sons, James Robert (Paula) Cammon and John Thomas (Bernadette) Cammon, both of Decatur, and Danny Lynn Cammon of Hartselle; two brothers, William Ervil Cammon of Eva and Eugene Cammon of Brushy Pond; two sisters, Sara Jo Schaffer of Cullman and Gerradean Holloway of Gold Ridge; seven grandchildren, Carolyn Schrader, Brittany Cammon and Jonathon Michael Cammon, all of Decatur, Charolette Schrader and Jason Schrader, both of Hartselle, Jonathon Franklin Cammon of Falkville and Nathan Dewayne Cammon of Eva; four great-grandchildren, Jason Michael Schrader, Tyler Cammon, Nathon Cammon and Coby Cammon; and his stepmother, Ellen Cammon.

Pallbearers will be John Schaffer, Michael Terry, Jonathon Michael Cammon, Nathan Cammon, Jonathon Cammn, Billy Sammons, Sparky Moore and Roger Moody.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bessie Verna Maddox

Funeral services for Bessie Verna Maddox, 90, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 15, 2003 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Nesmith, Pastors Terry Phillips and Ray Bridgeman officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Maddox died Sunday, Oct. 12 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Winston County on Dec. 11, 1912 to Josie and Joseph Payne. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; a daughter, Jeraldean Maddox (age 17); a son, Jimmy Maddox (age 29); and a granddaughter, Meagan Dean Harris (age 24).

Survivors include two daughters, Shirlie Jean Winfrey of Huntsville and Eulene Langley of Birmingham; two grandsons, Sebie Winfrey of Huntsville and Patrick Millican of McAlester, Okla.; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Mary Carol Young Emens

Funeral services for Mary Carol Young Emens, 53, of Decatur are at 3:30 .m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Central Baptist Church.

Roselawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Emmens died Tuesday, Oct. 14 at her residence.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Homer Marion Peak

Graveside services for Homer Marion Peak, 77, of Cullman are at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2003 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery, Charles Barnett officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peak died Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 30, 1925 in Cullman County to Willis Marion and Evie Smith Peak. His favorite pasttimes were visiting flea markets, traveling and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine Huffstutler Peak; three brothers, Verell Elam, Hulon Peak and Cecil Peak; a sister, Lillian Wrenn and his son-in-law, Roney Wood.

Survivors include four sons, Charles (Raceene) Peak of Falkville, Bruce (Debra) Peak, Benny (Joy) Peak and Brian (Eshaunae) Peak of Cullman; three daughters, Carolyn (Randy) Godeke of Warrior, Judy (Chuck) Steipp and Rita (Ralph) Hancock of Cullman; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County.

Pallbearers will be Jamey, Chuck, Rodney, Chris, Jeremy and Josh.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hue Gene L. Adams

Funeral services for Hue Gene L. Adams, 75, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Faith Baptist Church, Randy Makemson officiating, with Burial in Vinemont First Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adams died Monday, Oct. 13 at Medical Center East. He was born July 26, 1928 to Crozier and Catherine Skipper Adams. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Walter Neal Adams; three brothers, Roy, Z.C. and Frazier Adams; and two sisters, Myrtie Oden and Carlue Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Goodwin Adams; two sons, Alan (Jan) Adams and Norman Adams; three brothers, Elmer Adams, Lawton Adams and Timothy Adams; a sister, Leonia Pesnell; and two grandchildren, Tara Adams and Casey Adams.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Eldridge William Adams

Funeral services for Eldridge William Adams, 72, of Cullman were Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003 at Blount County Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Harce Swann officiating, with Burial in Nectar Cemetery.

Blount County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adams died Monday, Oct. 13 in Cullman County. He was born in Blount County to Grady and Vida Marsh Adams. He was self-employed in the scrap tire disposal business and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Adams of Cullman; a son, Kevin Adams of Cullman; two daughters, Debbie Anderson and Sheilia Fountain, both of Cullman; four brothers, Henry Adams, Rod Adams, Bill Adams and Wilburn Adams; two sisters, Kathryn McAnnally and Eunice Faye Adams; three grandchildren, Adam Anderson, Tammy Mitchell and Bobby Rodgers; and four great-grandchildren, Nick Wise, Amberlee Mitchell, Gary Mitchell and Cody Anderson.

Mary Carol Young Emens

Funeral services for Mary Carol Young Emens, 53, of Decatur will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Central Baptist Church, the Rev. Joe Hoover officiating, with Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Emens died Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Decatur. She was born Feb. 2, 1950 in Decatur. She was a retired teacher/principal. She taught at Oak Park Middle School and was principal at Chestnut Grove School in Decatur. She taught elementary school in Gainsville, Fla., at Birmingham Bluff Park Elementary and Madison County Elementary as a specialist. She attended Athens State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a master's degree in education. She attended Central Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Cantrell Young.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Emens of Decatur; two sons, Randy Jr. (Leah) Emens and Jeff (Jaime) Emens, both of Cullman; a brother, Cole J. (Sherry) Young of Charlotte, N.C.; and her father, Dr. Cole J. Young.

The family requests donations be made to the Mary Carol Young Emens School Fund at AmSouth Bank in Decatur.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Geneva McCarn

Funeral services for Geneva McCarn, 81, of Bremen are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Wayne Williams, Ray Ponder and Tommy Graves officiating, with Burial in Ryan's Creek Cemetery in Bremen.

Mrs. McCarn died Thursday, Oct. 16 in Cullman. She was born in Madison County on April 9, 1922 to Daniel and Sarah Elizabeth Burton Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray McCarn.

Survivors include four daughters, Willodean (Charles) Bentley, Faye McMillen, both of Bremen, Melba Chandler of Cullman and Jewel (T.O.) Hall of Dodge City; two sons, Chester (Denice) McCarn and Garland (Charlotte) McCarn, both of Bremen; a brother, Willie B. Harris of Chickasaw; a sister, Vester Mae Whatley of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry McCarn, Aaron McCarn, Pat Bentley, Stanley Stricklin, Jimmy Bullard and Jason Myers.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margaret Jane Reese

Funeral services for Margaret Jane Reese, 81, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Chuck Canterbury officiating, with Burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Mrs. Reese died Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1922 in Cullman County to Henry Horton and Mary Lois Knight Dial. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Guy R. Reese.

Survivors include a son, David Reese of Holly Pond; two brothers, James (Margie) Dial of Garden City and Jerry (Marilyn) Dial of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Betty Jo Boone of Laurel Hill, Fla.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Irene Mattie White

Funeral services for Irene Mattie White, 91, of Blountsville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 at Blountsville Funeral Chapel, with Burial in Nixon Chapel Cemetery in Marshall County.

Mrs. White died Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Marshall Manor Nursing Home in Guntersville. She was born in Marshall County to Henry and Mary Burton Gibbs. She was a homemaker and a member of Blountsville Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, R.C. White.

Survivors include three sons, Harold White of Centre, Sherry White of Cleveland and Russell White of Vinemont; three daughters, Myra Caldwell of Blountsville, Margaret Wells of Birmingham and Dawn Smith of Concord; a brother, Homer Gibbs of Holly Pond; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bob Wells, Sam Smith, Carl David Smith, Steve White, Geoff Smith, Phil White, Paul White and Joey Smith.

Willie B. Stallings

Funeral services for Willie B. Stallings, 86, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating, with Burial in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Stallings died Thursday, Oct. 16 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 15, 1916 in Jackson, Tenn. to Yancey and Sarah Johnson Stallings. He was a retired lineman for Cullman Electric Co-Op and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale Stallings; a daughter, Faye McManus; and a brother, Lenord Stallings.

Survivors include his wife, Thurolene Stallings; a son, David Stallings; a daughter, Peggy McManus; a sister, Ila Jones, all of Cullman; six grandchildren, Roger (Sharon) McManus, Joe McManus, Paula (David) Douglas, Tim (Lisa) McManus, Stacey (Todd) Gammon and Kirk Stallings; and eight great-grandchildren, Karli, Drew and Josey Gammon, Zach and Micah Douglas, Taylor, Caidyn and Kenley McManus.

Visitation was Friday.
