FRANCES W. MARTIN
TALLADEGA A celebration of life service for Frances W. Martin, 88, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Edmondson, the Rev. Mike Jones and the Rev. Lowell Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Martin died Dec. 13 at her residence in Cullman. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.P. Martin.
She was a native of Talladega County and was retired from Belks Department Store in Talladega. She was a long time member of Northside Baptist Church, where she was in charge of the nursery for many years.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Lawrence Martin and Gail Martin of Talladega; three daughters and sons-in-law, Andrew and Phyliss Todd of Talladega, Tom and Linda Wood of Cullman and Don and Betty Carpenter of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Pearl Parton, Ann Cosby and Reba Sanders, all of Talladega, and Margaret Mangam of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Todd, Jason Todd, Joey Peters, JoJo Peters, Matt Peters and Scott Austin.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Beverly and John Woodard.
Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
GEORGE L. SARGENT
Sylacauga Funeral service for George L. Sargent, 82, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Joe Cooley officiating. Burial will be in Millerville Cemetery.
Mr. Sargent died Dec. 13 at Browns Nursing Home in Alexander City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adell Sargent, one son, Joe Sargent, and a brother, Homer Sargent. He was a retired chef for the Dunk n Dine Restaurant in Atlanta, Ga., and attended Marvins Chapel Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Junior Sargent and Eugene Sargent of Sylacauga, and Roger D. Sargent of Prattville; two daughters, Maureen Buckner of Sylacauga and Georgette Little of Prattville; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roger Sargent, Terry Sargent, Tracy Sargent, Terrell Hargaty, Mike McGinnis, Frank Carleton, Danny Parrett and Kevin Sargent.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.

TALLADEGA Maeoma Satterwhite, 81, died Dec. 14 at Talladega Healthcare Center.

SADIE MAE SWAIN
ALPINE Funeral service for Sadie Mae Swain, 88, will be Tuesday at noon at DeForest Chapel on the Talladega College campus with Pastor Joanne G. Fomby officiating. Burial will be in Kingston Church Cemetery
in Alpine.
Mrs. Swain died Dec. 11 at Coosa Valley BMC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three children, one sister and one brother.
She is survived by three daughters, Bernice Cody of Fitzgerald, Ga., and Vertice Swain and Joyce Alford of Alpine; seven sons, Willie James Swain and Sherry Swain, both of Buffalo, N.Y., John Swain of Alexander City, A.C. Swain, Willie L. Swain, Perry Swain and Roy Swain, all of Alpine; one sister, Lille Mae Calhoun of Talladega; 51 grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
The body may be viewed at DeForest Chapel one hour before service time.

LUCILLE FREEMAN WIGTON
NICEVILLE, Fla. Funeral service for Lucille Freeman Wigton, 88, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. First Presbyterian Church in Niceville, Fla., with Dr. Michael Swain officiating. Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Crestwood Cemetery
in Gadsden with the Rev. Elton Beasley of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Wigton died Dec. 13 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Alpine on Dec. 14, 1913, grew up in Talladega and moved with her husband to Gadsden in the early 1950s. In 2001 she moved to Niceville, Fla., to be near her son, Jerry Nabors, and his family. Alterra Sterling House became her home and the staff and residents her extended family. Although her name was Lucille, everyone who knew her called her "Slo," a nickname from her childhood days. She grew up with 12 siblings and oh the stories she could tell of those precious days with her big and loving family. Those who knew her will remember and treasure the tales from the days of her youth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bobbie Freeman; her seven brothers and six sisters and her dear husband Bill. She loved life and spread joy to all whose lives she touched. She especially loved her church, her family, people, hugs, fun, laughter and every child she ever met. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Gadsden and attended First Presbyterian Church of Niceville, Fla.
Left to remember and cherish her and the joy she brought to this world are her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Mary Ellen Nabors of Niceville, Fla.; daughter, Katye Keys of Hokes Bluff; granddaughters, Elizabeth Creamer and husband David of Yorktown, Va., Nancy Madaris of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; grandson, Jerry Nabors Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Lynn Turner and husband Rob, Tracy Flak, Samantha Flak, Jamie Madaris and Jerry Madaris; great-great-grandsons, Tommy and Nathan Turner; her Sterling House family, and many nieces and nephews and loving friends.
Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Wigton's name to the Howell Erwin Medical Fund at First United Methodist Church, 115 South 5th St., Gadsden, Ala., 35901 or to Covenant Hospice, 101 Hart St., Niceville, Fla., 32578.

BETTY COOPER WALDEN
TALLADEGA Funeral service for Betty Cooper Walden, 65, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dick Stark officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Walden died Dec. 15 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, was retired from Wal-Mart and was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Wayne Walden; her parents, Uriah and Rebecca Cooper; a sister, Bobbie Jean Heath; and a brother, Billy Cooper.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Clark of Talladega; five daughters, Bonnie Lomeli of Lincoln, Connie Carden of Talladega, Lou Walden, Debra Faulkner and Kim Holman of Opelika; five sons, Mac Walden, Clarence Clark Jr. and Dallas Clark of Opelika, David Walden of Talladega and Ronnie Walden of Birmingham; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Members of the Pell City Police Department will serve as pallbearers.

BARBARA LEE CLARK
DELTA Funeral service for Barbara Lee Clark, 63, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Beculhimer and the Rev. Jerry Edge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Clark died Dec. 14 at her residence. She was a native of Tampa, Fla., a former resident of Augusta, Ga., but has been in Clay County since 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Carlton Clark Jr.; and a great-grandson, Wesley Winner.
She is survived by her husband, Carlton Clark of Delta; two daughters, Billie Jo Winner of Anniston and Sarah Cast of Panama City Beach, Fla.; one son, James M. Clark of Spring City, Tenn.; one brother, Philip Frasier of Talladega; five sisters, Deortha Jo Lambert of Talladega, Wanda St. John of Rogersville, Marie George of Fiffe, Minnie Bell Banks of Albertville and Marvine Dean of Geraldine; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home until service time.

WILLIAM CLINKSCALE
CALCIS Funeral service for William (Bill) Clinkscale, 73, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Sterrett with the Rev. Russell Gooden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Clinkscale died Dec. 13. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 136 and attended Beulah Baptist Church in Sterrett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the
Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid antique dealer and collector.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel A. Clinkscale of Calcis; eight children, Mike Clinkscale (Cathy) of Dallas, Texas, Wanda Fischer (Jimmy) of Lake Jackson, Texas, Rene' Bass (Roger) of Birmingham, Mark Clinkscale (Belinda) of Mobile, Desiree Spies (Bill) of Collierville, Tenn., Cindajo Shields (Glenn) of Columbiana, Carol Lincoln (Dave) of Smyrna, Ga., and Nadia Wilder (Chris) of Chelsea; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
