Funeral services for Robert Vandiver, 69, of Arley will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 at Nichols Funeral Chapel, with Burial in Kemp Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Vandiver died Sunday, Oct. 5 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, L.V. Vandiver of Arley; a daughter, Liz Dutton of Moulton; a son, Terry Vandiver of Arley; two sisters, Josephine Garrison of Florida and Iva Jean Smith of Ohio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Bernard Lee Cammon
Funeral services for Bernard Lee Cammon, 83, of Saraland, formerly of Cullman, were Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, with Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Cammon died Saturday, Sept. 27 at his home. He served his country during World War II in the 406th Infantry Regiment during the Battle of the Bulge, for which he received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He retired from Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile after 25 years of service and from Teledyne Continental Motors after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Deep South Antique Car Club and a member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jenette Persall and John Robert Cammon.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Geneva Bryant Cammon; two sons, Jerry (Pam) Cammon and Ronnie (Janice) Cammon; a daughter, Donna (Steve) Perkins; eight grandchildren, Lisa (George) West, Lee (Dee Dee) Cammon, Tina (Eric) Richardson, Lance Corporal Kyle Perkins (USMC), Nathan Perkins, Kaycie Perkins, Wendy (Dwight) Lacy and Cindy (Jed) Fulford; 10 great-grandchildren; PV2 Jonathon West, Joshua West, Blaine Cammon, Baleigh Cammon, Zachary Richardson, Zoe Richardson, Tyler Bridges, Jacob Fulford, Sam Fulford and Caleb Fulford; his stepmother, Ellen Cammon; two sisters, Jo (Herb) Schaffer and Geraldine (Dee) Holloway; three brothers, William E. (Eloise) Cammon, Kenneth (Martha) Cammon and Eugene (Michelle) Cammon.
Annie Murphree McGriff

Mrs. McGriff died Monday, Oct. 6 at Beverly Health Care in Arab. She was born Sept. 9, 1909 in Cullman County. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert McGriff; her parents, J.E. and Margaret McAlpine Murphree; three sons, James Millard McGriff, Willard McGriff and Dwight McGriff; all her brothers; and one sister, Zelda Grisby.
Survivors include a son, Dal (Pauline) McGriff of Blountsville; four daughters, Willene (Glenn) Clark of Arab, Velma (Dan) Armstrong of Remlap, Joyce (Bobby) Love of Holly Pond and Janice (Keith) Hicks of Marietta, Ga.; two daughters-in-law, Zelda Grisby McGriff and Mary Moon McGriff; three sisters, Hazel Garmon, Tempie Elmore and Shelia Murray; and 14 grandchildren.

Barbara Louise Kashuba

Mrs. Kashuba died Monday, Oct. 6 at UAB Hospital. She was born June 8, 1961 in Jefferson County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Butler and Dora Wills; her brother, Arthur Gary Butler; and her sister, Cynthia Ann Butler.
Survivors include her husband, James Kashuba of Cullman; a son, Anthony Kashuba of Cullman; two daughters, Heather (Scott Thrasher) Kashuba and Jessica Kashuba of Cullman; four brothers, Eugene, Richard, Ronnie and Ralph Jolly; six sisters, Taffy Cone, Gloria Benson, Sue Tolbert, Tammy Key, Nancy Bailey and Brandy Ashley; four grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Joshua Thrasher, Alexandra Thrasher and Anna Dean Fuller; and best friend, Cathy Burson.

Mrs. Brookes died Sunday, Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in New York. She was a retired employee of Seven Keys Co. in Florida and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Warren Center, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Brookes, two sons, George G. and Richard Brookes; and an infant son.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorine Reeves of Vinemont; a son, Kenneth (Beverly) Brookes of Nineveh, N.Y. with whom she made her home; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Christina Wandell of Choconut Center, N.Y.; three half-brothers, Henry Van Dusen of N.J., Harvey Van Dusen of Florida and Arthur Van Dusen of Washington; and a cousin, Marjorie DeBellis of Hawleyton, N.Y.

Fern Long Welsh, 98, of Holly Pond, formerly of Largo, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 at Hanceville Nursing Center.

Mrs. Welsh was born in Weyers Cave, Va. She was a former employee of Largo High School cafeteria. She was a member of Navy Mother's Club of America, Club 51 in Youngstown, Ohio and Club 865 of Clearwater, Fla. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Welch; three sons, Edward, Joseph and Wade; a brother, Ashley Breneman; and two sisters, Carrie Morris and Reba Guy.

Delmar Ray McMinn, 56, of Cullman died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. McMinn was born March 23, 1947 in Cullman County. He was a barber and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amiel B. and Agnes McClendon McMinn; and a brother, Jerrel McMinn.

Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was owner and operator of Good Old Days Garage, a board member of Model A Restorers Club and a member of the Huntsville Model A Club. He was a longtime member of Bluff Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wallace Marlar.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Marlar; three daughters, Donna (Ray) Stokes, Janet (Colen) Ramsey and Barbara (Steve) Cupp; five grandchildren, Adrian Traywick, Natalie and P.J. Sulzby, Trey and Lindsey Doyle; a great-grandson, Caleb Traywick; amd a sister, Sylvia Jones.
