Funeral services for Minnie Lee Holcomb, 95, of Blountsville were Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, Bobby Stephenson and Edward Engle officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.
Blountsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Holcomb died Saturday, Aug. 2 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born in Dekalb County on Jan. 19, 1908 to Isaac Martin and Meda Nora Claburn Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Holcomb; a daughter, Malvarene Chambers; and a grandson, Glen Chambers.
Survivors include a son, James Odean (Gail) Holcomb of Holly Pond; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Verdell Smith of Arab.
Pallbearers were be Howard Chambers, Dwight Chambers, Anthony Chambers, Keith Chambers, Danny Chambers and Josh Standridge.
Visitation was Monday.
Hazel Freeman
Funeral services for Hazel Freeman, 83, of Moody will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003 at Nichols Chapel, Robert Partridge officiating, with Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died Monday, Aug. 4 at Beverly Health Care.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Sanford of Moody and Betty Johnson of Addison; two sons, Jerry Fortenberry and Frank Fortenberry, both of Addison; two brothers, Hubert Hodge of Cullman and Hulen Hodge of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ralph 'Pete' Pigg
Funeral services for Ralph "Pete" Pigg, 88, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 at Nichols Funeral Chapel, with Burial in Sardis Cemetery No. 2.

Mr. Pigg died Sunday, Aug. 3 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Pigg; and a granddaughter, Miranda Pigg.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Pigg, Bobbie New and Mary McCormick, all of Cullman; four sons, Shirl Pigg, Cecil "Bo" Pigg, Jimmy Pigg, all of Cullman, and Jackie Pigg of Blount County; a sister, Winnie Rogers of Addison; two brothers, Dallas "Nub" Pigg and Russell "Russ" Pigg, both of Addison; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Burnett H. Hansen
A graveside memorial service for Burnett H. Hansen, 80, of North Carolina is planned.
Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home of Winston-Salem, N.C. is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hansen died Sunday, Aug. 3 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born on April 26, 1923 to Benjamin and Amanda Hansen in Blooming Prairie, Minn. Following graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. His business career included management positions at Hy-Line Poultry Farms in Des Moines, Iowa; Farmers Hatchery and Supply in Evansville, Ind.; Colonial Poultry Farms in Cullman; and Harrell Milling Company in Hartford. He and his wife, Connie Hansen, retired to Winston-Salem in 1997.
He was preceded in death by parents.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Connie Hansen; a son, Dr. Kimberley Hansen of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Glenda Braaten of Owatonna, Minn. and Phyllis Schuttler of Bozeman, Mont.; and two brothers, Harold Hansen of Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Merton Hansen of Johnston, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the B.H. Hansen Scholarship Fund, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Office of Development, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27157-1021. This scholarship fund will provide support for gifted medical students with financial need.
Lucille Mozley

Gary Oneal "Sugarfoot" Hill, 62, of Cullman died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003.

Mr. Hill was born in Blountsville on July 19, 1941 to James Ralph and Willie Bell Hunt Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Henry Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Ann Phillabaum Hill of Cullman; a son, Norman (Leigh) Hill of Heflin; two brothers, Billy James Hill and Major Dean Hill, both of Atlanta, Ga.; and two stepgrandchildren, Sabrina Franklin and Sarah Franklin, both of Heflin.

Mrs. Jones died Thursday, Aug. 7 at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born April 24, 1916 in Cullman County to John Caro and Mary Ludie Glover Wynn. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Jackson Jones; and three brothers, James C. Wynn, Reyford Wynn and Cephas Wynn.
Survivors include a brother, Coy (Shelby) Wynn of Cullman; two sisters, Audrey Nell (Dewey) Jones and Iva Lee Jones of Cullman; 11 nephews; and 12 nieces.

Mr. Johnston died Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair. He was a pipe fitter for The Southeast Company and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He graduated in 1989 from J.B. Pennington High School.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Mills Johnston; daughters, Courtney Johnston, Jessica Johnston; parents, James E. "Buddy" and Diane Hudson Johnston; and a brother, Jacob Miles Johnston, all of Blountsville.

Mr. McCracken died Thursday, Aug. 7 at his residence. He was born in Marion County to Fonzie Christopher and Myrtle Mona Lindsey McCracken. He was a coach at Wallace State College and coached at Russellville, Double Springs, D.A.R. Grant, Charles Henderson High, Troy, Hamilton, Haleyville and Hanceville. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward "Cotton" McCracken; a sister, Evonn Palmer; and a nephew, Ronnie McCracken.
Survivors include a sister, Faye (Elmo) Palmer of Hamilton; a brother, Donald (Polly) McCracken of Hamilton; and companion, Jewel Anderson of Scottsboro.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Hinkle of Hartselle, Frank Hinkle of Tuscaloosa and Steve Hinkle of Cullman; and four grandchildren, Logan Hinkle, Patrick Hinkle, Reid Hinkle and Jessica Hinkle.
