First Sgt. (Ret.) Thomas J. Williams
WOMACK HILL - Graveside services for First Sgt. (Ret.) Thomas
J. Williams, 71, will be held on Friday, November 11, 2005 at
1 p.m. in Womack Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Williams was born on April 3, 1934 in Ararat. He is the son
of the late Willie Veret Williams and Jean Mae Childress Williams.
He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 21 years,
having served in the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Frances “Sue”
Clifford Williams of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Michael T. Williams
and Joseph N. Williams both of Beaufort, SC; two daughters, Deborah
Krulewicz of Mobile and Cindy Halton of Donalsonville; one sister,
Elizabeth “Liz” Leblanc of Houma, LA; 10 grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. Memorial donations
may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Louie Edward Maxwell
BUTLER - Funeral services for Louie Edward Maxwell, 80, were
held on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Mt. Sterling Baptist Church
with Rev. Danny Nelson officiating. Interment followed in the
Mt. Sterling Cemetery.
Mr. Maxwell was born on February 27, 1925, and passed away on
November 5th at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of
the U.S. Navy and was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Maxwell (Ann) of Meridian, MS;
Danny Maxwell (Sandy) of Meridian; two daughters, June Tinsley
of Meridian; Mary Anne Cook of Quitman, MS; nine grandchildren,
Amy Tinsley, Brandon, Daniel, Andy, Bridget, Justin, Tyler, and
Laci Maxwell and Angelia Giles; five great-grandchildren, Andrew
and Jessi Todd, Cierra and Claire Giles, and McKinley Maxwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice R. Maxwell, one
brother, Dr. William T. Maxwell, and one sister, Anne McCall Shirley.
Pallbearers were Justin Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell, Brandon Maxwell,
Andy Maxwell, Daniel Maxwell, and Andrew “Drew” Todd.
Honorary Pallbearers were Milton Jackson, Don Scurlock, Ken Mays,
Freddie Moore, Harold Lafferty, Rock Bumpers, William Cook and
Ray Shelton.
Bumpers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Brenda Kelley Jacobs
BUTLER - Funeral services for Brenda Kelley Jacobs, 52, were
held on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at New Hope Church of God with
Rev. Jimmy Lloyd officiating. Interment followed in the Bogueloosa
Cemetery.
Mrs. Jacobs was born on August 25, 1953 and died on November 4th.
She is survived by three sons, Alvin Roy Jacobs of Butler; Chadwick
Dewayne Jacobs of Lake, MS; Kelley Gene Todd, of Butler; two brothers,
Lester Glenn Kelley of Land, Terry Kelley of Pontotoc, MS; three
sisters, Carolyn Coody of Land; Diane Clark of Chatom; Sherry
Tyson of Butler; four grandchildren, six nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Evelyn Kelley
and one nephew.
Pallbearers were Kenny Clark, Grover Gibson, Clint Gibson, Tommy
Gibson, Chris Bohl, and Larry Carlisle. Honorary Pallbearers were
T.J. Bishop, Tray Kelley, Ray Gibson, Mark Thompson, James Ford,
and Jody Barber.
Bumpers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Claudia Mae Pearson Bishop
LISMAN - Funeral services for Claudia Mae Pearson Bishop,
71, were held on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Gilfield Missionary
Baptist Church in Pushmataha with Rev. Theodis McSwain officiating.
Interment followed in the church's cemetery.
Mrs. Bishop was born on October 12, 1934. She retired from Vanity
Fair and was a 1954 graduate of the Choctaw County Training School.
She was survived by one daughter, Gladys Eddie and two sons, Dennis
Bishop (Maebelle) and Charles Bishop (Betty); ten sisters, Vonester
Jones, Susie Ruffin, Judy Ruffin (Charlie), and Mary Ann Harris
of Pushmataha, Myra Harris of Jacksonville, FL, Claree Pennington
of Perry, FL, Benola Smith of San Francisco, CA, Gladys McCurdy
(Leander) and Mildred Salary of Birmingham, Janie Robinson (Gary),
of Montgomery; six brothers, Maryon Ruffin (Patricia) of Pushmataha,
Perry Ruffin (Gwendolyn) of Mobile, Johnny Charles Harris (Gloria)
of Columbus, OH, Thomas Eddie Harris (Linda) of Oakland, CA, Bobby
Harris (Charlotte), and Ulysses Harris (Joann) of Greenville,
FL; six grandchildren, Deneitris, Marquita, Dennis, Alexander,
Carvese, and Valencia; three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Aiyuana,
and Darren; two aunts, Lillie Mae Bruton and Clara Bell Anderson;
a step-mother, Annie Ruth Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Family and friends served as pallbearers. Members of the Class
of 1954 served as honorary pallbearers and flower bearers.
Hayden and Butler Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia Johnson
TOXEY - Funeral services for Virginia Johnson, 73, were held
on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Springhill Baptist Church with
Rev. Albert Earvin officiating. Interment followed in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born on February 17th, 1932 to the late Ocie
Johnson, Sr. and Callie Jackson Johnson. She died on Monday, October
31st at her residence.
She is survived by her three daughters, Chasie Smoot (David Mills),
Callie (Jeff) Williams, and Mellissa Johnson, all of Cleveland,
OH; five grandchildren, Sherman of Cleveland; Felicia, Claude,
Joycelyn, and Annie, all of Alabama; 12 great-grandchildren; four
sisters, Laura Collins and Tereatha Johnson both of Toxey; Annie
(Harvey) Eaton of Mobile; Sarah (James) Smith of Long Island,
NY; two brothers, Ocie, Jr. (Bessie) Johnson of Toxey; Johnny
(Annette) Pope of Cleveland; one aunt, Tina Gilmore of Mobile;
and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Pearson.
Family and friends served as pallbearers and flower bearers.
Hayden and Butler Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
