Funeral services for Richard Gene Reed, 55, of Alexander City will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Radney Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Jason Rodgers and Lamar Veazey will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003.
Mr. Reed died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Russell Medical Center. He was born Sept. 14, 1948, in Tallapoosa County to James R. Reed and Frances Williams Reed. He worked as a manager of woven goods and finishing for Russell Corp. for 38 years and was a graduate of Auburn University. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was involved in scouting and was club master.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathryn Turner Reed of Alexander City; one son, Richard Eric Reed of Alexander City; his parents, James R. and Frances Reed of Alexander City; two brothers, Terry Reed and Jeff Reed and wife Jan, all of Alexander City; his mother-in-law, Effie Turner of Alexander City and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

Memorial services for Gary Jack Hall, 68, of Tallassee will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Bro. Jimmy Allen will officiate.
Mr. Hall died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003. He was born Monday, Feb. 4, 1935.
He is survived by one sister, Beatrice Taylor of Tallassee; one sister-in-law, Bernice Hall of Dadeville and several nieces and nephews.

Sara Smith Ray

Funeral services for Sara Smith Ray, 90, of Alexander City will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Jimmy Bassham and Ron Gonia will officiate. Burial will follow at Alexander City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003.
Mrs. Ray died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Chapman Healthcare Center. she was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Tallapoosa County to William Harvey Smith and Bessie Lottie Wright Smith. She worked at Cohen's Fair Store in Alexander City for more than 30 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Joy Club and First United Methodist Church Exercise Club. She loved doing things for her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Anita Giordano and husband Richard of Montgomery and Diane Lonergan and husband Ronald of Alexander City; five grandchildren, Jeannine Williams and husband Deveraux of Alexander City, Linda Buchannan and husband Tim of Montgomery, Richard Calvin Giordano and wife Tammy of Wetumpka, Ronald Lonergan Jr. and wife Tonya of Chatom and Sara Dee Mason and husband Mark of Nashville; 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and her many friends at Chapman's Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.C. "Po Boy" Ray.

Mrs. McGregor died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Cullman County to John Timothy West and Viola King West. She was a housewife.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky McGregor and wife Lori and Tim McGregor and wife Chanda, all of Alexander City; four grandchildren; one sister, Adie Bozle of Cullman and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.B. McGregor.

Miss Kirk died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Chambers County to James William Kirk and Eunice Ardice Rice Kirk. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Bobby R. Kirk of Alexander City and Charles Kirk of Lanett and three sisters, Margaret Lightsey and Nell Harrison, both of Mobile, and Hazel Mosley of Tennessee.

Memorial services for Elizabeth S. King, 69, of Alexander City will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Alexander City.
Mrs. King died Oct. 17, 2003, at her residence. She was born March 6, 1934, in Ohio to Joseph Bessanyei and Elizabeth Toth. She was a retired teacher.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy, Sherry and Lisa; three granddaughters, Kimberly, Stephanie and Marina and one great-grandson, Nicholas.
