Michael McCloskey
Funeral for Michael McCloskey, 18, of Madison, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Sexton officiating. Burial followed in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
McCloskey died Saturday, Nov. 10, in a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle accident in Tennessee. He was a graduate of Bob Jones High School where he was drum major of the band, salutatorian of his class and president of the math honor society.
He was majoring in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Dyanne McCloskey of Madison; one sister, Erica Dyanne McCloskey of Madison; one grandmother, Jean McCloskey of Memphis, Tenn.; and one grandfather, Reeder Walker of Madison.
Wanda Francis Frederick

Funeral for Wanda Francis Frederick, 83, of Madison was Sunday, Nov. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, Ky.
Mrs. Frederick died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003. She was born Feb. 22, 1920. She was a resident of Valley View Nursing Home in Madison and a lifelong resident of Clay, Ky., and was a member of First Baptist Church. During the last 8 years she has lived near her son in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Frederick, in 1994.
She is survived by two sons; Larry David Frederick of Huntsville, and Phillip Lee Frederick of Bath, Maine; two sisters, Daphine Carlisle and Wilma Brown, both of Clay, Ky.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Margaret "Peggy" Padgett

Funeral for Margaret "Peggy" Padgett, 81, of Madison was Sunday, Sept. 28, at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with Doris McCafferty officiating.
Burial was in Blanch Cemetery
in Taft, Tenn.
Mrs. Padgett died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. She retired from The University of Alabama at Huntsville in 1993. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women, Navy Mothers, Legal Secretaries, Huntsville Art League "HAL," Madison Art League and Broadway Theatre League. She was an artist in pastels, color pencils, oils, acrylics and watercolors.
She is survived by her son, Todd Padgett of Huntsville; two daughters, Cheryl Kemp of Huntsville and Pam K. Padgett of Madison; three grandsons, Mike S. and Chris B. Marks, and Ryan Padgett; two granddaughters, Kerry Padgett and Oona Heacock; two great grandsons, Nathan and Brandon Marks; and two great-great granddaughters, Anna Marie Marks and Kiara Heacock.

Homer Whitworth

Funeral for Homer Whitworth, 71, of Madison was Thursday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Madison with the Rev. David Tew and the Rev. George Bark officiating.
Burial was in Madison City Cemetery
with Madison Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Whitworth died Feb. 15, 2004, at his home. He was born April 4, 1932. Mr. Whitworth, a native of Limestone County, was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Madison, an Air Force veteran, and retired from Monsanto Corporation in Decatur. After retirement, he loved his time with his coffee buddies, both at McDonalds in the morning and at the Waffle House in the afternoons.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Whitworth; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "Beth" and Philip Hill of Ft. Bliss, Texas; son, Shane Whitworth of Madison; two grandsons, Stephen and Ryan Hill of Ft. Bliss, Texas; sister, Reba Pickens; and several nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were Philip Hill, Harry Reid, Dub Hoover, Vic Tucker, Jim Pitts, Jeff Vinson and Jon Brasher. Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Burial was in State Line United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Bethany J. Barefield

Funeral for Bethany June Barefield, 16, of Madison was Wednesday, Dec. 25, at 1 p.m. at Capshaw Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Horton, Rev. Rex Looney, and Rev. Bill Ashford officiating.
Bethany was born on March 13, 1987, in The Noble Army Hospital at fort McClellan. She attended elementary school at Fort Leavenworth and Fort Riley, Kan., Wuerzburg, Germany, Harker Heights, Texas, and Madison. While attending Monrovia Middle School, she was a member of the girl's volleyball team, and the Rocket City Volleyball program. White attending Sparkman High School, she was a member of girls' JV volleyball team, Key Club, and choir. She attended Capshaw Baptist Church where she participated in youth and mission projects. She will always be remembered for her disarming smile, outgoing personality, and love for others. Her zeal for life and a daily walk with our Heavenly Father serves as an example to us all. Her compassion for those in need and friendship and understanding will be missed.
She is survived by her parents, Mike and Jen Barefield of Madison; her sister, Bekah Barefield; and two grandparents, Ms. Lillian Barefield of Ozark; and Mr. Don Alkin of Broken Bow, Neb.

Funeral for Evelyn Jenkins Wall, 80, of Madison was Sunday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Grigsby and the Rev. David McMichael officiating.
Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Jenkins died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003.
She was born Feb. 16, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy D. Wall, and her parents, Coleman and Pauline Jenkins. She was a former government employee, a lifelong race fan and supporter of Huntsville Speedway, and a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandma and friend.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy C. Wall and wife Becky of Monrovia; John T. Wall and wife Renee of Harvest; two grandsons, Jim Wall of Monrovia and Evan Wall of Harvest; one aunt, Louise Rice of Lexington Park, Md.; and other close relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a favorite charity.

in Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Kammer died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004.
She is survived by her son, Stuart Kammer of Madison; one sister, Mary Jane Spalding of Lebanon Ky.; three grandchildren, Anthony, Elizabeth and MaryRose Kammer, all of Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grays died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004. He was born Nov. 23, 1923.
He is survived by seven daughters, Leslie Faye Grays of Triana, Marcella Grays of Harvest, Birda Grays of Triana, Cherry Morrow and Doris Grays, both of Decatur, Mary Sales of Huntsville, and Beatrice Colemen of Harvest; three sons, Rev. Beechel Grays Jr. and Gary Grays, both of Triana, and Glenn Sales of Tutwiler, Miss.; two sisters, Hattie Foreman and Katie Hereford, both of Huntsville; 25 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
