James Clinton (Pat) Dunnam
James Clinton (Pat) Dunnam, of Coosada, died June 11.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Paschal Dunnam; mother, Beulah Campbell Dunnam; brothers, Walter and William Dunnam; and sister, Almetta Gillespie.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gothard Dunnam, Coosada; son and wife, Mike and Kathie Dunnam, Sunnyvale, Calif.; daughter and husband, Marsha and Chris Cleveland, Millbrook; six grandchildren, Keith (Brandy) Cleveland, Holtville; Christy (Scott) Post, Prattville; Angela Cleveland, Millbrook; Joe, Jeff, and Jamie Dunnam, Sunnyvale, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Morgan, and Madi Grace Cleveland, Peyton Cleveland, Tyler Perdue, and Matthew Post; sisters, Joy (Curly) Thomas; Tommie Reynolds; brother-in-laws, Jim (Priscilla) Gothard; Donnie (Kyle) Gothard; sister-in-law, Audrey (Raymond) Cox; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dunnam was born in Hanover on May 17, 1924.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in England and Germany, receiving several medals. He worked for Alabama Power Company as a lineman and meter tester. He retired with 38 years of service. He was an active member of Coosada Baptist Church since 1955, serving as a deacon, on the planning committee to build new sanctuary, faithful member of the sanctuary choir for 45 years, and lovingly maintained church grounds for eight years. He was a loving and faithful husband, a devoted father, and was very active in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were June 16, 2007 at Coosada Baptist Church at with Dr. Jim Graham officiating. Pallbearers were Keith Cleveland, Scott Post, Tony Gothard, Gene Jones, Randy Naylor, and Ronnie Smoke. Honorary pallbearers were Rabbit Culver, Dave Shoemaker, Coolidge Sims and the Journeymen Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Coosada Baptist Church building fund. Erven Stephen Weaver, 76, of Millbrook died June 11, 2007 at a local hospital.
Funeral services were June 13, 2007, at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Brookside Memorial Gardens with US Army Honor Guard serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Weaver was retired from the US Army, The Alabama Forestry Commission, former Millbrook City Councilman and head of Millbrook Police Reserve. Survivors include wife of 54 years, Mary E. Weaver of Millbrook; daughter, Deborah (Steven) McAnelly of Ohatchee; sons, Gregory (Toni) Weaver of Columbiana; Keith Weaver of Prattville, four grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck (Carolyn) Franklin of Prattville.

Shelton Douglas Yow, 53, of Prattville, passed away May 29, 2007. Funeral services were held June 2, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Days Saints in Prattville with Bishop Jeff Bryant officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Jerrie O. Yow of Prattville; sons Shelton Blake Yow of Prattville, Justin Tyler Yow of Prattville, and Matthew Jared Yow of Prattville.

Susan Carter
Susan Carter, 59, of Deatsville, died June 2, 2007 at her residence, surrounded by family members.
Funeral services were held June 4, 2007, at Hunter Hills Church, where she was a member, with Don Campbell and Stan Cunningham officiating.
She was retired from the US Naval Research Lab and was active in supporting missions ministries.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ronnie Carter of Deatsville; daughters Sandi (Don) Carter of Millbrook, Tamra Carter (fiancé Justin Farrier) of Euless, Texas; son Ryan E. (Melanie ) Carter of Crestview, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Susan Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund, Refuge International, P.O. SANDERS, Mr. Jack “Doug” (Paw Paw), a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 2 PM at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church with Bro. Dun Gordy and Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment followed in Brookside Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elvie Sanders, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by the love of his life and lifelong caretaker, Elsie Nelson Sanders, their children, Steve (Denise) Sanders, Gloria (Tony) Eller, Ann (Harold) Boullion and Shauna Strength, all of Millbrook, AL; thirteen Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers were Chris Boullion, Caleb Boullion, Jeremiah Deneve, Kevin Byrd, Jason Sechofield and Paul Pierce. ANDERSON, Gloria Lynn, 60, a resident of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with Reverend Randy Tucker officiating. Burial followed in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Anderson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved spouse, James B. Anderson; one daughter, Kearston Henley; four sons, John, Randy and his wife Tina, Jeff, and Bryan; five grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Lindsey; and one brother, Charles Money. OSTRYE, Helen V., 83, went home to be with God, on Monday, May 14, 2007. A Mass of Christian burial, celebrated by Father Charles Troncale, will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prattville, Alabama. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Ostrye’s late husband, Norbert, predeceased her on Thursday, April 26, 2007. Her full time commitment was to her children and husband of 60 plus years. She is survived by her children Ken, Tricia, and Kevin of Alabama and Mark of Oklahoma. In addition, she had ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Helen requested your gifts be contributed to the Building Fund at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, P.O. Jennifer Janice Coulter, 45, of North Charleston, S.C. died July 3, 2001.
She worked as an international transportation dispatcher for P&O Nedlloyd.
She is survived by three daughters, Heather Birdwell of Huntsville, Leslie Brunt of Ladson and Andra Giles of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsons, Jason Hartselle and Josh Hartselle, both of West Ashley; her mother, Charlotte Lowber of Priceville; two brothers, Tommy Coulter of Olive Branch, Miss. and Brad Lowber of Priceville; her grandmother, Mavine Roberts of Madison; and three grandchildren.
Services were held July 8 at Ridout’s Brown Service Funeral Home, Mark Posey and Jerri Hunt officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
RUTH “TINY” DEVANEY
Ruth “Tiny” DeVaney, 88, of Madison, died July 6, 2001.
She was a native of Franklin County.
She is survived by a sister, Reba Taylor of Red Bay; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 7 at Shelton Funeral Home, Rev. Ricky Lowery officiating.
Graveside services were held July 8 at the DeVaney Family Cemetery
in Russellville.
VIRGIL S. GULLY JR.
Virgil S. Gully Jr., 68, of Massey, died July 7, 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War and served for 17 years in the Alabama National Guard Hartselle Unit.
He attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
He is survived by a son, Sam Gully of Hartselle; a daughter, Cheryl Gully Slaughter of Madison; a brother, Robert Mitchell Gully of Chatom; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held July 8 at Peck Funeral Home, Rev. Walter Blackmon officiating.
