Evelyn A. Gosa
Evelyn A. Gosa, 91, a resident of Wetumpka, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 at Pine View Memorial Gardens Cemetery
with the Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating and Ellison Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Gosa is survived by her son Allen (Linda) Gosa of Mountain Brook; one brother Otis (Marie) Calloway of Wetumpka; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gaynor Gosa, her brother Freddy Calloway and her sister Agnes Prather.
The family request the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 100 W. Bridge St., Wetumpka, AL 36092.
There will be no visitation, family and friends will gather at the cemetery.
Franklin Thomas Bowers
Franklin Thomas Bowers, 83, passed away on Nov. 21, 2012, at the comfort of his home following a brief illness.
He was born and raised in Montgomery and was a long time member of Eastern Meadows Church of Christ.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked as an engineer for Auburn University until his retirement.
He was known for his love of gardening, love of Auburn football, the tastiest banana pudding in the South and his hard work ethic.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Naomi Parke Bowers; son, Mark Bowers; daughter, Donna (James) Pilgrim; granddaughter, Carli Pilgrim; and brothers, Edward, Marvin and Garry Bowers.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 24 at Greenwood Cemetery.

Ann White Duncan
Ann White Duncan, 84, of Marietta died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 18 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Marietta with Rev. Dr. Bill Ross and Rev. Dean Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery
in Kennesaw. Mrs. Duncan was born and raised in Tallassee, Alabama. She graduated in 1948 from the University of Alabama with a degree in Radio Communications. She later obtained a teaching certificate and enjoyed a career in education for over 30 years before retiring from the Marietta City School System. Mrs. Duncan was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church in Marietta and the Crusaders Sunday school class. With a further desire to continue teaching, she volunteered as a director and teacher of the Marietta First Baptist English School for many years. She was a true servant of the Lord and contributed so much through this ministry that she loved. Survivors include her son, Robert White of Marietta, her daughter, Cissy White Chastain and her husband Bruce of Powder Springs and their children, Laura Beth, Butch and Clay. Mrs. Duncan also has two step-sons, Vernon Wallace Duncan, Jr. and his wife, Cindi; Michael Kelton Duncan and his wife, Charlene, and their daughter, Michaela. She is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Vernon W. Duncan, Sr. and grandson, Jeremiah Duncan. Lacy Freeman Holt
Mr. Lacy Freeman Holt, a resident of Wetumpka, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at the age of 85.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 28 at Little Flock Cemetery
on Old U.S. Highway 231 in Wetumpka.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Holt; son, Kenny (Deborah) Holt; daughter, Kathy Holt; step-sons, Douglas (Ann) Morgan and Gordon (Joyce) Morgan Jr., step-daughter, Carolyn (Wilbert) Findley; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ruth Holt; and by his brothers, Austin Holt, Phillip Holt, Joe Holt, and Franklin Holt.
Pallbearers will be Eric Holt, Wade Morgan, Leigh Persky, and Glenn Culver.
O.V. Pittman
O.V. Pittman, 94, a resident of Coosada, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 20 with visitation at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Prattville Memorial. Pastor Earl Hall and Chaplain Lonnie Bolen will be officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Pittman.
He is survived by his only child, Tony Pittman (Gayle); three grandchildren, Lynn Richards (Garry), Don Duck, and Valerie Pittman (John Tierce); five great grandchildren; one sister, Maxie Grissett; one brother, Jake Pittman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Serving as active and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Three Sunday School Class of Catoma Baptist Church of Montgomery.
Ira Jefferson “Buddy” Fomby
Mr. Ira Jefferson “Buddy” Fomby, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the age of 64.
Graveside services were Tuesday, June 28, at 3 p.m. from Grier Chapel Church Cemetery
in Central, Alabama, with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Fomby is survived by his sons, Jody Fomby, Joshua Fomby (Amanda) and Justin Fomby; daughter, Amanda Arant; brother, James Fomby and 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ruby Fomby.
Mr. Fomby was the owner of “Fomby Produce” on Hwy. 229, Red Hill Road, for over six years.
The family received friends Tuesday, June 28, from 2:30 p.m. until service time at Grier Cemetery.
Frances Lewis Maynard
Frances Lewis Maynard, 78, a resident of Eclectic, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
with Ellison Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Maynard is survived by two daughters Linda (David) Hensley and Pam (Leonard) Johnson both of Eclectic; four sons, Randy (Teresa) Maynard of Wetumpka, Terry Maynard of Eclectic, Steve (Tammy) Maynard of Eclectic, Barry (Karin) Maynard of Devon, Pa.; one brother, Wesley (Betty) Lewis of Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Edna Sanford of Wetumpka; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by her husband Barney Houston Maynard.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 20 at the church.
James F. Spear
James F. Spear, 63, passed away Sunday Jan. 20, 2013.
He is preceded in death by his father William F. Spear and his mother Mary Virginia Key Spear.
He is survived by his wife Sara Spear, daughter Jamie Spear, brother William C. (Linda) Spear, grandchildren Morgan Cord and Emily Cord, nephew Christopher Spear and neice Lakin Spear.
A memorial service will be held at noon Feb. 12 at Suntuck Baptist Church with the Rev. John Ed Mathison officiating.
