Frazier
Charles Kevin Frazier, 48, a native of Saraland and a resident of Kushla, died March 20, 2006 at a local hospital. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Brandon Frazier and Tony Ray Frazier, both of Birmingham; daughter, Jamie Marie Frazier of Satsuma; two sisters, Evelyn Preston of Houston, Texas and Ellen Covington of Livingston, Texas and one grandchild.
The funeral service was March 24 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom. Interment was in the Yellow Pine Cemetery
in Yellow Pine.
Myers
Bessie Helen Myers, a member of Horeb Baptist Church in Whatley and a homemaker, died March 23, 2006 at a local hospital at the age of 86. She was a native of Coatsville, Ind. and a resident of Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Larry Myers of Brownsburg, Ind.; daughter, Kay "Chico" Lawson of Jackson, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted on March 28 in the chapel of Porter Funeral Home in North Salem, Ind. A memorial was conducted in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery
in North Salem with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson and Porter Funeral Home of North Salem directing.
Richardson
James Robert Richardson died March 4, 2006 at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, Calif. at the age of 61. A native of Jackson and a graduate of Harper High School, he was employed as an auto mechanic until he was disabled.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Jones of Jackson; two sons, James (Carol) L. Richardson and Carl (Candice) Richardson; three daughters, Helen (David) Jackson, Sylvia (Willis) McCaster and Ronda (Michael) Lang; brother, Arthur Law of West Covina, Calif.; nine grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Richardson and Mabel Law and two brothers, John L. Law and Gerald Williams Sr.
The funeral service was March 13 at Simpson & McGee Mortuary in Lynwood, Calif.
Slaughter
Anthony Virgil Slaughter, a resident of Los Angeles, Calif., died March 25, 2006 at the age of 56. A retired police officer with the Detroit Police Department, he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Monukea ammunition carrier and was a veteran of the Vietname War.
Survivors include his father, Vernon Slaughter of Los Angeles; daughter, Nicole Slaughter of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Tony Slaughter of Detroit, Mich. and three grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Saturday, April 1, 3 p.m. at the Smith Family Cemetery
in Walker Springs with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Snell
Zebedee T. Snell, a native and resident of Suggsville, died March 24, 2006 at his residence.
He is survived by a daughter, Vanessa Snell of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Zebedee T. Snell Jr. and Albert Snell, both of New Jersey; two sisters, Rebecca Snell and Betty Dennis, both of Suggsville and five grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 1, 2 p.m. at Cedarfork Baptist Church in Suggsville. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Deas
Thomas "Tom" Earl Deas Sr. of Jackson, died April 14, 2006 at Springhill Hospital in Mobile at the age of 80. A lifelong resident of Clarke County, he was a veteran of World War II where he served with the occupational forces in Europe. After his employment with Vanity Fair Mills in Jackson, he co-owned and operated Ray and Tom's Restaurant in Jackson for 17 years. He served as a member of the Clarke County Commission from 1980 until his retirement in 2002, serving in Districts 3 and 4. A member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson and the VFW, he celebrated his 50th anniversary with the Little League of Jackson and was recognized for being the only surviving coach of the first Little League season. The Old Lock Road was also named in his honor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Deas.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Bumpers Deas of Jackson; son, Tommy Deas of Jackson; daughter, Beverly Garrett of Jackson; brother, Gilmer Deas of Coffeeville; sister, Iola Robinson of Thomasville; nephew, C.D. "Lefty" Anderson of Mobile; three grandchildren, Thomas Ott, Hank Ott and Trey Deas; three stepgrandchildren, T.J. Marshall, Rachael McDaniel, Jolie Carr; one great-grandchild, Nathan Ott and three great-stepgrandchildren, Morgan McDaniel, Sydney Carr and Caroline Carr.
The funeral service was April 17 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Lester Pope, Dr. Rob Nichols and Brian Jemison officiating. Burial was in the New Prospect Cemetery
in Coffeeville with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson and Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler directing.
Pallbearers were Trey Deas, Thomas Ott, Hank Ott, Chuck Anderson, Alton Deas, Charles Montgomery and T.J. Marshall.

Lee
Edna Lowery Lee, 80, died April 11, 2006 at a health care facility in Foley. A native of Georgiana and a resident of Foley, she was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Feddy Ellis Lee of Licking, Mo. and James William Lee Jr. of Biloxi, Miss.; daughter, Jamie Lee Dewberry of Monroeville; three grandchildren, Ben Rodgers Lee Jr. of Spanish Fort, Robert C. Larrimore III of Mobile and Benjamin Lee of Biloxi; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Lee and Jacob Lee, both of Spanish Fort.

Morgan
John C. Morgan Jr., 58, a native of Chickamauga, Ga., died April 17, 2006 at his residence in Tibbie. A 1966 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School, he received a bachelor of arts degree from Carson-Newman College in 1972 and a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1975 and a master of arts degree in marriage and family therapy. He served as adjunct therapist at the University of Mobile and as a marriage and family therapist at Carpenter House in Mobile. He was accepted as a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy in 1996. His ministry of 27 years included serving Union Grove Baptist Church in Crossville, Tibbie Baptist Church, Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill and Peniel Baptist Church in Jackson. He was called back to Tibbie Baptist Church until 1997. An active member of the Washington County Baptist Association, he was an associate member of the Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, served on the advisory board for the Washington County Catholic Services and remained a member of Tibbie Baptist Church until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Patricia Rylee Morgan of Tibbie; son, John Anthony (Leslie) Morgan of Tibbie; grandchildren, Dakota Morgan, Dalton Morgan and Anna-Grace Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Rachel Hicks Morgan Sr. and a daughter, Melissa Ann Morgan.
The funeral service was April 19 at Tibbie Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Walker
Gary Wayne Walker, 55, a pipe welder with Systems Contractors, died April 16, 2006 in an automobile accident. A native of Grove Hill and a resident of Coffeeville, he was a member of Ulcanush Baptist Church.
Survivors include his fiancé Kelly Walker of Coffeeville; three sons, Devin Walker, Dirk Walker and Brandon Walker, all of Coffeeville; daughter, Danielle Walker of Coffeeville; two brothers, Mike Alexander of Loxley and Russell Alexander of Mobile; two sisters, Teresa Boutwell of Chilton and Abbie Hunter of Mobile and five grandchildren.
The graveside service was April 18 at Ulcanush Cemetery
with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Hendrieth
Hattie Jordan Hendrieth, 91, a native of Vinegar Bend and a resident of Chatom, died April 18, 2006 at Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom. She was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church in Vinegar Bend where she served as Sunday School teacher and president of the Missionary Society. She also served as a worthy matron of the Lily Star Charter No. 143 Order of the Eastern Star of Sunflower.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Hazel J. Kirksey, the Rev. Eddie Marzette, both of Chatom, Johnny Jordan Jr. of Ypsalinta, Mich., Linda Gordon of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Hattie E. Jordan of Inkspen, Mich.; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m. at the Little Bethel Baptist Church in Vinegar Bend. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
