Overstreet

Nathan Alan Overstreet, 16, a student at Clarke Prep School, died June 25, 2006 in an automobile accident. He attended Thomasville Church of God.

He is survived by his parents, Paula Ann Overstreet of Lenox and Nathan Calvin Overstreet of Grove Hill; sister, Ashley Ann Overstreet of Grove Hill; grandparents, Walter Gibson Jr. of Frisco City and Glenda Huckabee of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Calvin Overstreet and grandparents, Dorothy O. Weaver and Woodie C. Overstreet.

The funeral service was June 28 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Burial was in the Cantuche Cemetery in Salitpa.

Bedsole Massey Palmer Bedsole Jr., died June 24, 2006 at his farm in Monroe County at the age of 77. He was a native of Mobile with homes in Mobile, Gosport and New Orleans, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Massey Palmer Bedsole and Mable Bedsole Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Smith Bedsole of Mobile; his children, Raine Bedsole and George Demmas, Mary Martin Riser and John Henry Martin; grandchildren, Marshall Riser, Walton Riser, White Martin, Julia Martin, Isabelle Martin, Tsana Demmas and Massey Demmas.

A memorial service was conducted at Dauphin Way Methodist Church in Mobile on June 28 with Pine Crest Funerals and Cremations in Mobile directing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Centre for the Living Arts, P.O. Box 198, Mobile, AL 36601.

McKinley

Rayford Allen McKinley, 57, of Thomasville, died June 18, 2006 at his home in Thomasville. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville and was selfemployed.

Memorial services were held at Liberty Baptist Church on June 22 with the Revs. David Grayson, Larry Darden and Bill Faircloth officiating. The graveside service was conducted in the church cemetery with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Crenshaw McKinley of the Liberty community; four daughters, Christy (Kerry) Knight and Kimberly (Terry Lee) Overstreet, both of Thomasville, C.J. (Brooke) McKinley of Mobile and Racy (Jason) Howell of the Liberty community; two sisters, Janell (Ralph) Hudson of Saraland and Betty Jane (David) Brown of Axis; brother, Connie (Jade) McKinley of Grand Bay, six grandchildren and one expected grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Underwood McKinley, mother, Doris Parker McKinley and brother, Gordon Lamar McKinley.

Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Fendley, Cecil Richardson, Bernard Pugh, Marcus Milstead, Kevin Robertson, Randall Robertson, Jerry Drinkard, Mike Larrimore, Gary Gates, Donnie Powell, Buddy Wilson and John Eanes.

James

Irene Jackson James, 71, died June 26, 2006 in Mobile.

She is survived her husband, Dan James of Jackson; two sons, Albert James and Clifford James, both of Jackson and a daughter, Jacqueline James of Jackson.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 1, 12 noon at Inspirational Tabernacle Church on Industrial Road.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.

Tarver

Juanita Guy Tarver, 78, a native of St. Stephens and a resident of Spanish Fort, died July 7, 2006 at her daughter's residence in St. Stephens. A retired Tupperware representative for 30 years, she was a member of Clearwater Assembly of God Church in Wagarville and an active member of the St. Stephens Nutrition Center.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Tarver of Spanish Fort; two daughters, Patsy H. (Morris) Daugherty of St. Stephens and Nita Gwenolia Smith of Woodlands, Texas; three sons, Caron S. (Betty) Hayes and Ottis D. Hayes, all of St. Stephens and Troy D. (Martha) Hayes of Winn; three stepdaughters, Jean (David) Knizley of Spanish Fort, Shelia Tarver of Daphne and Donna (Carl) Wegener of Fairhope; stepson, Ray Tarver of Fairhope; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren and 12 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel B. Guy, father, Franklin S. Guy, daughter, Vivian A. Hayes and grandchild, Tracey Lee Daugherty.

The funeral service was July 9 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Interment was in the Clearwater Assembly of God Cemetery in Wagarville.

Pallbearers were Ed Hayes, George Guy, Dink Lankford, Danny Fleming, Kevin Knizley and Shane Tarver.

Honorary pallbearers are Dan McConaghy, Jim Holland, David "Buck" Knizley, Leroy Perkins, Horace McCulley, Roy Donald, John Gray Moseley, Howard Daugherty Jr., Dr. Steve Furr, Glenn Chestnut, Jesse Gates, Dr. Steve Donald, Darryl Daugherty Sr., Henry Lee Coxwell, Cynthia Howell, Tonya McGhee, Ramona Paniczko, Ramona Love, Susan Reitz and Allen Groves.

Chapman

Debbie Chapman, 39, a native of Grove Hill and a resident of Thomasville, died June 28, 2006. She was a member of the Thomasville Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Jamela Chapman of Thomasville; three sisters, Barbara Mohammed of New York, N.Y., Linda Chapman of Thomasville and Evelyn Culver of Atlanta, Ga.; seven brothers, Kenneth Hannon and Hilton Chapman, both of Atlanta, Craig Chapman of Killeen, Texas, Bernard Chapman of Hinesville, Ga. and Otto Chapman of Columbia, S.C.; and godmother, Nonie Robinson of Grove Hill.

The funeral service was June 28 at Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church in Grove Hill with the Rev. Elijah Scott officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Grove Hill with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Coleman

Idella Maxie Gamble Coleman, 79, a native of Jackson and a resident of Wiggins, Miss., died June 24, 2006 at a hospital in Wiggins.

She is survived by her mother, Calvert Gamble of Jackson; son, Myron Coleman of Selma; three daughters, Wethia McConnell and Carla Thomas, both of Wiggins and Donna Thomas of Leakesville, Miss.; three sisters, Essie Gamble, Dortha Jackson and Ruthie Jackson, all of Jackson; two brothers, Arthur Gamble Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Clarence Gamble of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Jackson

Betsy Ann Pugh Jackson, 49, a resident of Grove Hill, died July 8, 2006 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. She was a member of A.O.H. Holiness Church in Clarksville. She is a graduate of Coffeeville High School and Alabama Southern Community College.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin Jackson of Grove Hill; daughter, Wanda A. Jackson of Grove Hill; three sons, Ottis Oneil Jackson, Bryan Jackson and Ryan Jackson, all of Grove Hill; father, Willie Sidney Pugh of Grove Hill; three sisters, Helen Calhoun of New Orleans, La., Susie Pugh and Pearlene Robinson, both of Grove Hill; three brothers, Jerry Pugh of Thomasville, Rayfus Pugh of Coffeeville and Terrell Pugh of Columbus, Ohio and a godchild, Justin K. Scott of Monroeville.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 15, 12 noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill. Interment will be in the St. Luke Cemetery in Grove Hill with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Jackson

Jeremiah Deshawn Jackson of Sunflower, 6-month-old infant son of Roneka Jackson of Sunflower and Frankie Norwood of Wagarville, died July 2, 2006 at Women and Children's Hospital in Mobile.

Grandparents are Mattie and Raymond Williams of Sunflower, Brenda and Kirk Norwood and Mary Norwood, all of Prestwick and Terry Chapman of Detroit, Mich.

The funeral service was July 6 in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockville.

Jones

Lucious Jones Jr., a resident of Leroy, died July 5, 2006 at the age of 55.

He is survived by his stepfather, Joseph Davis of Leroy; stepmother, Valerie Davis of Leroy; two sisters, Debbie Boykin and Mamie Roberts, both of Jackson; two brothers, Terry Taylor and Eddie L. Taylor, both of Leroy; stepsister, Carla Thomas of Laurel, Miss. and stepbrother, Eric Davis of Fairford.

The graveside service was July 11 at Friendship Cemetery in Leroy with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
