Rudley

Jeannette Strozier Sattterwhite Rudley, 82, a member of St. Paul Baptist Church of McIntosh, died June 24, 2006 at her residence.

Survivors include two sons, James C. Satterwhite of Westland, Mich. and Willie R. Rudley of Grantville, Ga.; three daughters, Claudette Moore of Redford, Mich., Annette Stark of College Park, Ga. and Mary Ann Duff of Jackson; sister, Martha Hazel Strozier of Newnan, Ga.; brother, James Strozier of Newnan; 20 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was July 1 at St. Paul Baptist Church in McIntosh. Burial was in the church cemetery with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson directing.

Yelder

Georgia Ann DuBose Yelder, a resident of Grove Hill, died June 21, 2006 at the age of 58. She was a member Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church of Grove Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Yelder Sr. of Leroy; three sons, Arthur Yelder Jr. of Grove Hill, Rickey R. Yelder and Anthony Yelder, both of Leroy; two daughters, Valrie Packer of Montgomery and Audrey Robinson of Jackson; mother, Leo DuBose of Prestwick; four brothers, James DuBose and Larry DuBose, both of Leroy, Dale DuBose of Millry and Willie DuBose of Kansas; seven sisters, Mittie Lee Grayson of St. Stephens, Mary Lee Fox, Luella Collins and Stella Mae DuBose, all of Prestwick, Barbara DuBose of Mississippi, Jacqualyn DuBose of Huntsville and Bridgett Farrell of Leroy and 18 grandchildren.

The funeral service was June 29 at Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church of Grove Hill. Burial was in the St. Union Cemetery in Leroy with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Beech

Janie Lenora Beech, a native and resident of Hobson, died July 7, 2006 at her residence at the age of 85.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Tarver of Blakely, Ga. and Mary Eva (Nathan) Welborn of Hobson; son, Richard Darrell (Debbie) Beech of Spartanburg, S.C.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was July 8 at Hobson Assembly of God Church. Interment was in the Beech-Jones Cemetery in Hobson with Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directing.

Horton

Bobby R. Horton, 69, a resident of Grove Hill, formerly of Leroy, died July 28, 2006 in Jackson. He was employed with Bruister & Associates/Direct TV. A member of Worldwide Church of God and Amateur Radio Club, he loved working and spending time with his family and helping those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Shepard Horton of Grove Hill; son, John Shepard Horton of Northport; two grandchildren, Collin and Nicholas Horton of Northport; a twin sister, Betty Smith of Chatom; two brothers, Coma Horton of Grove Hill and Jerry Horton of Jackson.

The graveside service was July 30 at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Leroy with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating and Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directing.

Cox

L.V. Cox, a resident of Toddtown, died July 19, 2006 at Citronelle Convalescent Home at the age of 69. He was a retired staff sergeant with the National Guard 778th Maintenance of Jackson where he served in Desert Storm.

He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Cox of Duluth, Ga. and Dorothy Grizzelle of Stone Mountain, Ga.; two sons, Evernard Cox of Memphis, Tenn. and Raymond Pugh of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Rayford Cox of Grove Hill; three sisters, Dorothy Robinson of Grove Hill, Yvonne Kiser of Akron, Ohio and Sally Thomas of Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral service was July 22 at Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church in Toddtown. Burial was in the church cemetery with full military honors and Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Webb

Frank Allen Webb, 94, died July 18, 2006 at Crowne Health Care in Mobile. He was a resident of Sunflower and a member of Little Sunflower No. 3 Baptist Church. He was a retired logger for C.E. Harrell.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Webb of Rockville and Frank Webb Jr. of Sunflower; seven daughters, Beatrice Webb of Rockville, Nacey Phelan and Juanita Webb, both of Choctaw Bluff, Mattie House of Jackson, Angela Leverett of Mobile, Mary Robinson of Pascagoula, Miss., and Charolette Cannon of Moss Point, Miss.; sister, Sallie Jones of Moss Point; brother, Percy Webb of Mobile; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and many great-greatgrandchildren. The funeral service was July 22 at Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church of Sunflower. Interment was in the Redhill Cemetery in Sunflower with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Hyde

John Brian Hyde, a native of Clarke County and a resident of Madison, died at home on July 19, 2006 at the age of 33. He was a manager in food services at the USS Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman recruit.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Beech Hyde of Madison; son, Billy Dawson Hyde of Madison; parents, Gayle and John Edward Hyde of Jackson and brother, James Hyde of Grove Hill.

The funeral service was July 22 at McCann's United Methodist Church. Interment was at the Parker-Bell Cemetery in Jackson with the Rev. Earl Watson and the Rev. Joe McKinney officiating and St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.

Richardson

George Glover Richardson, 64, died July 30, 2006 at a hospital in Mobile. He was a native of Alabama, a resident of St. Stephens and a member of Midway Assembly of God Church in Bigbee. He was employed with Ciba Specialty Chemicals for more than 40 years in the maintenance department.

He is survived by his wife, Willodean Hartley Richardson of St. Stephens; three daughters, Deana Richardson (Willie Dale) Keith, Trina Richardson Webb and Tina Richardson Roney, all of St. Stephens; son, George Wade Richardson of St. Stephens; two sisters, Dalma Deas of St. Stephens and Haveline Hicks of Scyrene; brother, Paul Richardson of St. Stephens and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service was Aug. 2 at Midway Assembly of God in Bigbee with the Revs. Lamar Chapman and James "Jamie" Stoker officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in St. Stephens with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers were Willie Dale Keith, Ed Faith, Joe Smith, Richard Deas, Darrell Deas and Mitchell Deas.

Randal Oliver Childs

Randal Oliver Childs, 58, a native of Langdale and a resident of Jackson, died Aug. 1, 2006 at a medical facility in Birmingham. A carpenter for CHC Builders, he was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs and the Clarke County Mounted Sheriff's Posse.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Childs of Jackson; mother, Mary Clyde Childs of Jackson; three sons, Kyle Childs, Jason Childs and Scott Childs, all of Jackson; sister, Linda Smith of Chunchula and five grandchildren.

The funeral service was Aug. 3 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery in Jackson.

James Walter Edwards Sr.

The visitation service for James Walter Edwards Sr., 78, will be Thursday, Aug. 10 (today) from 5-8 p.m. in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove Hill Baptist Church. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

Edwards, a native of Selma, a former resident of Grove Hill, and a resident of Orange Beach, died Aug. 7, 2006 in Orange Beach. A hardware salesman for Tissier Hardware Supply Co. in Selma, he retired in 1993. Afounding member of the Island Fellowship Baptist Church in Orange Beach, he served as chairman of the deacons and was a Sunday School teacher. Active in the Orange Beach community, he enjoyed gardening and southern horticulture and tending his fruit orchard.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nichols Edwards of Orange Beach; two sons, James W. (Ann) Edwards Jr. of Anniston and Richard R. Edwards of Orange Beach; two daughters, Kay E. Clarke of Birmingham and Vikki E. Wiggins of Mobile; three brothers, John Ray Edwards of Montgomery and Houston Edwards and Mike Edwards, both of Selma; sister, Mary Ruth Holley of Selma; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Isiah Hair Jr.

Isiah "Zeke" Hair Jr., 58, a logger with Rocky Etheredge Logging and a member of Fruitdale Church of the Brethren, died Aug. 2, 2006 at his residence.

He was survived by his wife, Betty Hair of Fruitdale; brother, John Hare of Fruitdale; five sisters, Darlene Smith, Lavon Sumner and Betty Dawson, all of Bristol, Fla., Willie Reynolds of Chatom and Jane Carpenter of Deer Park.

The funeral service was Aug. 5 at the Fruitdale Church of the Brethren. Interment was in Grace Williams Cemetery in Fruitdale with Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directing.
