Charles Robert McGrady
WETUMPKA — Charles Robert McGrady, of Wetumpka, 74, died July 27, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 30 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Bridgman officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery
with Gray Funeral Home directing.
A visitation was held one hour prior to the service at Gray Funeral Home.
He is survived by a daughter, Cathleen Melinda McGrady of Wetumpka and a son, Robert Otis (Tammy) McGrady, also of Wetumpka; mother, Mrs. Arrie Wright McGrady of Union Springs; sister, Carolyn McGrady Ingram of Union Springs and a brother, Donald McGrady of Union Springs; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Leo Whetstone Harry
Mrs. Leo Whetstone Harry, 91, a resident of Titus, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at Titus Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Titus Baptist Church Cemetery
with Ellison Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Harry is survived by one daughter Jane (Al) Huddleston of Montgomery; two sons Billy R. (Sherry) Harry of Beavercreek, Ohio, James S. Harry of Montgomery; three sisters Reba (Robert) Kratzer of Montgomery, Ann Kilgo of Cedartown, Ga., Linda Brock of Montgomery; one brother Alex (Dean) Whetstone of Hartselle; three grandchildren J.J. (Jim) Henderson of Cedarville, Ohio, Lt. Col. Brett (Robyn) Harry of Stuttgart, Germany, Tara Huddleston of Montgomery and 10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Harry was preceded in death by her husband Sherrod Ira Harry and a son Jack Warren Harry.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6 at Ellison Funeral Home.
She was a member of Titus Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she taught Sunday school and played the piano.
She was also an assistant postmaster in Titus for 12 years and a member of Titus Homemakers Association and WMU.
Raymond Lee Gardner Jr.
COOSADA — Raymond Lee Gardner Jr., 56, a resident of Coosada died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 from the chapel of Prattville Memorial with the Rev. Wayne Rouse officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Raymond always demonstrated his strong Christian leadership and faith.
Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lee Gardner Sr.; one brother, Lon Gardner; and one niece. Carmen Channell.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife. Valerie Burnett Gardner; three daughters, Emma Lou (Mandeal) White, Afton Lee Gardner, Bobbie Ray Gardner; two sons, Johnny Ray Reynolds and Derrick Reynolds; his mother, Mattie Gardner; three grandchildren, Rome Cavanaugh, Justice Gardner and Jaydan Gardner; two sisters, Linda (Joseph) Powell and Lesha Channell; one brother, Bobby Frank (Shelly) Gardner and numerous extended family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Prattville Memorial Chapel.
James Ralph Grier III
James Ralph (Butch) Grier III, 59, a resident of Tallassee, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Weaver officiating and Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mr. Grier is preceded in death by his father, James R. Grier Jr. and grandson, Michael James Grier.
He is survived by his wife, June Grier, sons, Jason (Nicki) Grier, James (Bobbie) Grier IV, Randy (Lindsey) Grier, daughters, Jenni (Greg) Justiss, Elli (Troy) Ruff, 13 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dorothy V. Grier
Mrs. Dorothy V. Grier, a resident of Elmore, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, 10 days after a joyful observance of her 92nd birthday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at New Home Baptist Church with the Rev, Eric Sutton and the Rev. Walter Batyski celebrating her life and new life.
Mrs. Grier is survived by her four children, daughter Carolyn (Bill) Law of Montgomery; son Edwin S. (Victoria) Grier of Holtville; son Johnny Lee Grier of Tuscaloosa; daughter Debbie (Mark) Englehart of Montgomery; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren as well as many special friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Owen Dozier, Barbara Kreauter, members of the Fitzpatrick Homemakers Club and members of the Claudia Sanders Sunday School class at New Home Baptist Church.
Mrs. Grier was preceded in death by her parents Stephen Uzell and Verna L. Thornton, husband Ruben Vaughn Grier, son James R. (Shirley) Grier, her daughter Betty (J.Q.) Mustin and her son Bobby Grier.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 5130 Elmore Road, Wetumpka, AL 36092.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Randy Mustin, Walt Mustin, Wayne Law, Jimmy Grier, David Grier and Michael Grier.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the church.
The family would like to give special thanks to Barbara Kreauter and granddaughter Angie Mustin for staying with and giving special attention to Mama around the clock over the past few months. You made her last few months especially blessed.
Dean M. Varner
Mrs. Dean M. Varner, a resident of Wetumpka, born April 3, 1922, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the age of 90.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Aug. 6 at New Home Baptist Church in Elmore.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at the church with the Rev. Thomas Stapleton and the Rev. Eric Sutton officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mrs. Varner is survived by her son, Philip (Lynn) Varner; daughter, Ann (Sam) Burkett; sister; Elaine Morgan; grandchildren: Stanley Bobo, Scott (Valerie) Bobo, Travis (Jennifer) Varner, and Brandy Arnold; great grandchildren, Brittanne, Lottie, and Scotlyn Bobo, and Samantha and Gabe Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Willis Varner on Jan. 30, 2012; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mercer; brother D.C. Mercer; and sister, Marie M. Baker.
Pallbearers will be Tony Blankenship, George Varner, Leon McCord, Austin White, Bob Geddie, and Mike Bowdoin.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Sanders, Art Faulkner, and James Dozier. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 5130 Elmore Road Wetumpka, AL 36092 or to one’s favorite charity.
