Robert William “Bob” Caviness
ALEXANDER CITY — Robert William “Bob” Caviness, 46, a resident of Alexander City, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Counts officiating. Burial will follow at Pine View Gardens with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mr. Caviness is preceded in death by his parents, George Walter Caviness Sr. and Barbara Ruth McCarty Caviness.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Caviness, two sons, Cole & Parker Caviness, niece, Lauren Parker, nephews, Dallas Caviness, Devin Caviness and Carson Parker.
Pallbearers will be Devin Whittle, Dan Blackmon, Jeff Glass, Gene Sisson, Kyle Clark, Eddie Spivey, Jerome Hand and Bill Hamil.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 17 at Gassett Funeral Home.
Mr. Caviness will lie in state one hour prior to service time at Mountain View Baptist Church.

CLANTON — Mrs. Garldean Head Bryant, 71, a resident of Clanton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with interment following at Pineview Memorial Gardens and Brookside Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her daughter Elisa Diane Adair and son Larry Smith.
She was a homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Mike Head (Diane) of Wetumpka, James Smith (Catherine) of Clanton, Tim Smith (Carol) of Wetumpka, Gary Smith of Prattville, Daryle Smith (Amy) of Thorsby, Jeff Smith (Darlene) of Prattville, Jerry Smith (Rachel) of Clanton and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be her sons.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the funeral home.
Billy Joe Robinson
Mr. Billy Joe Robinson, a resident of Eufaula, Ala., and formerly of Tallassee, Ala., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at the age of 73.
Graveside services will be Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery
with Rev. Glen Brock officiating, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Iris Gibson Robinson; children, Keith Robinson (Ali) of Newport News, Va., Amy Robinson Coffee (Donnie) of Selma, Ala., and Jeff Robinson (Michelle) of Eufaula, Alabama; seven grandchildren, C.J. Dougherty, Erin Zapalla, Garrett Coffee, Mary Kay Coffee, Joe Robinson, Tom Robinson and Marissa Christian; one sister, Frances Melton and two nephews, Don Melton (Wynda) and Barry Melton (Loretta).
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Parks and Thelma Forbus Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a 1956 graduate of Tallassee High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. He later retired from Alabama Power Company after 31 years of service.
Paul Craig Taylor
TALLASSEE — Mr. Paul Craig Taylor, 60, a resident of Tallassee, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jane; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Derrick Craig of Birmingham; sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Hannah Taylor of Tallassee and Casey and Jennifer Taylor of Pelham; grandsons, Warren Taylor (Ben and Hannah), Derryne Craig (Angie and Derrick) and two grandchildren expected.
Paul is also survived by his sister, Sara Johnson, sister-in-law, Judy Taylor, sister, Susie (Noah) Griggs, brother, Tommy (Kathy) Taylor, sister, Mary (Martin) Sherrer, brother, Daniel (Shelia) Taylor, brother, Carl (Kathy) Taylor, sister-in-law, Peggy Taylor, brother, Mark (Amy) Taylor, sister, Martha Crim, sister-in-law, Paulette (Joe) Windle, sister-in-law, Libby (Jim) Baker, brother-in-law, Chuck (Alesa) Stewart, brother-in-law, Chris Stewart, numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Paul was the son of the late James Melvin Taylor Sr. and Hixie Powell Taylor of Tallassee.
He is also preceded in death by his brothers, James Melvin Taylor Jr. and Joseph Dale Taylor and his parents-in-law, Jesse Charles Stewart and Muriel James Stewart, all of Tallassee.
Paul served as an active member and deacon of East Tallassee Baptist Church for several years.
He was the Elmore County Commissioner District 2 and a member of Tallassee Rotary Club, Alabama Farm Bureau (ALFA), Board of Directors for The Learning Tree, many area civic organizations and many youth and sports organizations.
He also served many years in the Alabama National Guard and the Alabama Air National Guard.
Visitation was held at Jeffcoat Funeral Home from 5-7:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Funeral services will be held at East Tallassee Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Aug. 3 with the Rev. Kevin Webb and the Rev. David Warren officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery
with Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
Paul’s nephews will serve as pallbearers with fellow deacons of East Tallassee Baptist Church serving as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Paul C. Taylor to the Baptist Children’s Home, Children’s Harbor or East Tallassee Baptist Church.
Rev. Otto Parker Hammonds
Retired Rev. Otto Parker Hammonds, a resident of Wetumpka, died Tuesday June 26, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. June 30 at Wallsboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ashley Davis and the Rev. James Dannelly officiating and Gassett Funeral Home directing. Private entombment will be later at Greenwood Cemetery.
Rev. Otto was director of human resources with the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations for 30 years, and served as a United Methodist minister for 19 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean T. Hammonds; daughters, Charlotte H. Lackey and Catherine Hammonds Roy; sister Annie Hammonds Wilson, and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Trey Lackey, Eric Roy, Lucas Roy, Parker Lackey, Patrick Lackey and Derek Patrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family of Wallsboro United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. June 29 at Gassett Funeral Home.
