David Dawson, 37, of Montevallo, died Aug. 4, 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Dawson and Chaarlotte Edwards Dawson.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul Dawson and his wife, Tania, of Clanton; grandmother, "Memaw" Dora Edwards of Montevallo; two nephews, Jesse and Alex Dawson of Clanton; a niece, Hannah Dawson of Clanton; aunts and uncles, Dale and Wayne Miller, Bob and Anna Bell Dawson, Carlie and Sonnie Brice and Leon Adamson; special cousin, Nancy English; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Services were held Aug. 7 at Enon Baptist Church, Bro. Ed Ables officiating.
Burial was in Enon Cemetery, Charter Funeral Home directing.
WILLIE ETHEL FARRINGTON
Member of Montevallo First Baptist Church
Willie Ethel Farrington, 85, of Brierfield, died Aug. 5, 2000.
A homemaker, she was a member of Montevallo First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Farrington Sr. of Brierfield; two sons, John A. Farrington Jr. of Birmingham and Bill Farrington of Birmingham; a sister, Gertrude Shirley of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Chris, Jenifer, Michael Ann and Laurie; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Aug. 7 at Cahaba Valley Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
HERMIE CARL GLASS SR.
World War II veteran
Hermie Carl Glass Sr., 77, of Saginaw, died Aug. 2, 2000.
A member of Amazing Grace Worship Center in Saginaw, he served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from U.S. Steel in Fairfield, where he was a crane operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Glass and a daughter, Ann Thomas.
He is survived by his son, Carl Glass Jr. of Columbiana; daughters, Kathy Burgett of Jemison, June St. Pierre of Calera and Carolyn Maddox of Pell City; a brother, Virgil Glass of Hoover; sisters, Mavis Sweeney and Faye Davis, both of Columbiana and Janice Sparks of Bessemer; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 4 at Amazing Grace Worship Center, Bro. Ray Smith and Bro. Ron Thomas officiating.

JOHNNY EDWARD McMULLIN

Johnny Edward McMullin, 51, of Columbiana, died Aug. 2, 2000.
He was a Textile Worker.
He is survived by two daughters, Deb Dalton of Calera and Donna McMullin of Montevallo; a son, Mark McMullin of Alabaster; his mother, Bessie McMullin of Columbiana; sisters, Patricia Patterson of Calera, Earline McGiboney of Calera, Lorene Byrd of Shelby and Allison Granthan of Columbiana; two brothers, Paul Staten of Columbiana and Roy McMullin of Montgomery; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 4 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Still Memorial Cemetery
in Elliottsville, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Glorida Klepsig Pope, 69, of Columbiana, died Aug. 6, 2000.
He is survived by her daughters, Sharon Tran of Birmingham and Susan Stout of Columbiana; a son, Robert Pope of Columbiana; a brother, John Klepsig of Gadsden; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 8 at Shelby Woods Center, Rev. Ron Orcutt officiating.

Annie L. Ray, 68, of Maylene, died Aug. 5, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Margie Scott of Maylene; two sons, Larry Ray and Raymond Ray, both of Maylene; a sister, Lera Glass of Centerpoint; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 8 at Providence Baptist Church.
Burial was in adjoining Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.
ELIZABETH ANN SEALE

Elizabeth Ann Seale, 61, of Thorsby, died Aug. 5, 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Seale; children, Jimmy Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Mary Ray and Tommy Taylor, all of Thorsby, Terry Taylor of Chelsea, Sue Smith of Wilsonville and Shelia Gleason of Foley; sisters, Evalyn Lucas, Avlee Childress, Sue Dawson, Elizabeth Hunter, Marie Brasher and Shirley Thomas; and brothers, John Woods, Roy Woods, Horace Woods and Jimmy Woods.
Services were held Aug. 8 at Bolton Brown Chapel, Rev. Calvin Smitherman officiating.
Burial was in Columbiana City Cemetery, Bolton Brown Service directing.
ALTON W. SMITHERMAN
Machias resident
Alton W. Smitherman, 63, of Machias, died Aug. 3, 2000.
He was born at Boothton on Sept. 16, 1936, the son of Archie F. and Myrtle Smitherman.
He graduated from Montevallo High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1954, retiring in 1975 after 21 years of service.
He returned to Machias and worked at the Machias Textile Mill, Machias Water Company and J.L. Huntley for many years and until his illness he worked for Machias Savings Bank.
He was a member of the Harwood Lodge, No. 91.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Smitherman; three sons, Greg Griffin and wife, Susanne, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Gary Griffin of Machias and Lowell griffin and wife, June of Jonesport; a brother, Bob, and wife, Naomi, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Jeanette Harper and husband, Mzxwell, of Montevallo, Polly Kiker and husband, Richard, of Bessemer and Alvis Narramore and husband, Ellis, of Clanton; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Pauline, and two brothers, Steve and Archie.
A memorial service was held Aug. 7 at the Gardner-Hall Funeral Home in Machias.

Mary Gail Williams, 49, of Westover, died Aug. 5, 2000.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Hamm of Chelsea; two daughters, Carleena Cook of Chelsea and Sandy Williams of Harpersville; a brother, Dale Hamm of Austin, Texas; and a sister, Elane Summers of Las Vegas.
