Donald William Crumpton, 55, of Harpersville, died July 2, 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Crumpton; two daughters, Tammy Wood of Harpersville and Rachel Crumpton of Birmingham; a son, Bobby Crumpton of Harpersville; five grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Crumpton and Buford Crumpton of Wilsonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held July 5 at Bolton Brown Chapel, Rev. Sammy McEwen officiating.

Burial was in Wilsonville Cemetery, Bolton Brown Service directing the services.

Benjamin Jerome "Jerry" Fowler

Owner of Childersburg Texaco

Benjamin Jerome "Jerry" Fowler, 78, of Vincent, died June 26, 2000 at Coosa Valley B.M.C. in Sylacauga.

He was owner and operator of the Texaco Service Station in Childersburg for 21 years.

Fowler is survived by his wife, Lula Lee Fowler of Vincent; three sons, Frank Fowler of Odena, Larry Fowler of Childersburg, and Randall Fowler of Chelsea; three step-sons, Kenneth Shirley of Talladega, Master Sgt. Jackie Shirley of Columbiana, and Jimmy Shirley of Chelsea; one step-daughter, Rita Hassett of Vincent; one brother, James Fowler of Sylacauga; one sister, Annie Lee Murchison of Sylacauga; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Services were held June 28 at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Elliott officiating.

Burial was in Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Childersburg, Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Childersburg Chapel directing.

LEONARD F. JOHNSON

Chelsea resident

Leonard F. Johnson, 84, of Chelsea, died June 30, 2000.

He was preceded in death by his son, Corky Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Dimmis Johnson of Chelsea; a daughter, Ramona Nivens and husband, Larry, of Chelsea; two grandchildren, Kelly Hardin and Keri Nivens; great-grandchild, Shanna Hardin; two sisters, Mae Hutchinson of Pelham and Rochell Patterson of Georgia; and brother, J.T. Johnson of Chelsea. Services were held July 3 at Chelsea Church of God, Rev. Marty Kelly officiating. Burial was in K-Springs Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

JAMES M. LITTLEFIELD

Montevallo resident

James M. Littlefield, 55, of Montevallo, died June 24, 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Littlefield of Montevallo; a daughter, Amy McKinney of Vincent; sons, Mike Swords of Montevallo and Tony Barnett of Montevallo; his mother, Mary Reed; stepfather, J.P. Reed; sisters, Faye Ashworth of Boaz and Jayne Clarke of Merietta, Ga.; and one grandchild, Stacy Barnett.

Services were held June 27 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Clyde Beam presiding. Burial was in Moores Cemetery in Montevallo, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

JAMES OLLIE MCCOMBS

Member of Concord Baptist Church

James Ollie McCombs, 100, of Calera, died June 26, 2000. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Calera and was retired from McCombs Freight Lines.

He is survived by his wife, Dollie McCombs; sons, James T. McCombs and Tommy McCombs, both of Alabaster; step-children, Eugene Horton of Montgomery, Jesse Horton of Alabaster and Judy Hope of Shelby; sisters, Wilma Hodges of Hueytown and Mamie Carson of Fultondale; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 28 at Concord Baptist Church. Burial was in Shelby Memory Gardens, Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

BRAXTON BROWN HOLLIMAN RICHARDSON

Infant

Braxton Brown Holliman Richardson, infant, died June 29, 2000.

He is survived by his parents, Robby and Patti Richardson; a brother, Colton Richardson; a sister, Brenlee Richardson, all of Columbiana; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tidmore Sr. of Columbiana, Pat Richardson of Gordo and James Richardson of Reform.

Services were held July 1 at Columbiana United Methodist Church, Rev. Bob Alford and Rev. Mike Owens officiating.

Burial was in Pinelawn Gardens, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

WILLIE WEBB SEALES

Alabaster resident

Willie Webb Seales, 93, of Alabaster, died July 2, 2000.

She was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a member of Siluria Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, John Dunaway Jr. of Helena; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held July 6 at Siluria Baptist Church.

Burial was in Roy Cemetery in Helena, Bolton Brown Service directing.

RONALD E. "TOOKIE" YOUNG

Sterrett resident

Ronald E. "Tookie" Young, 17, of Sterrett, died June 24, 2000.

He is survived by his mother, Gina Young of Sterrett; father, Ronald Young Sr. of Oakman; two sisters, Jennifer Young of Oakman and Amy Young of Sterrett; grandparents, Jimmie Miller of Oakman and Otis and Ann Young of Culleoka, Tenn.; uncles, Keith Young of Tenn., Mickey Miller of Oakman, Tommy Miller of Oakman, Gary Miller of Jasper and James Adams of Jasper; aunts, Lisa Adams of Oakman and Marie Quick of Griffin, Ga.; cousin, Jason Adams of Oakman; and special friends, Freko and Joey Thweat. Services were held June 28 at Kilgroe-Green Chapel, Rev, Lendon Frost officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Kilgroe-Green Funeral Home directing.

SYBLE LEE GARNER

Hueytown resident

Syble Lee Garner, 72, of Hueytown, died Aug. 11, 2000. She was born in Mississippi on Dec. 11, 1928, the daughter of Norman and Loner Garner. She retired from Alabama region Arrow Shirt Company, where she had been employed since 1962.

She is survived by four sons, Macky, Jerry, Randy and Ricky Garner; and four daughters, Mitzie McKenney, Judy Walden, Jackie Garner and Cassie Alexander. Charter Funeral Home directed the services.

GLADYS DAVIS GOSE

Member of Montevallo United Methodist Church

Gladys Davis Gose, 88, of Montevallo, died Aug. 8, 2000.

She was a member of Montevallo United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Davis Eddings and Ruth Davis Terrell, both of Montevallo; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Aug. 10 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ralph Barrow and Rev. George Peelen officiating. Burial was in Montevallo Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

AUGUST VICTOR LATERRADE

Former New Orleans resident

August Victor Laterrade, 86, of Birmingham, died Aug. 12, 2000. He was a lifetime resident of New Orleans, La., before moving to Birmingham to be with his family. He was born July 4, 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Victor Laterrade. He served his country in the Army and drove a cab in New Orleans before retiring.

He is survived by his son, Sidney Victor Laterrade; his daughter-in-law, Gisele Laterrade; and granddaughter, Alex Laterrade, all of Birmingham.

Services were held in New Orleans, La., Charter Funeral Home directing.
