He is survived by his wife, Jane Weaver of Wilsonville; a daughter, Paula Braden of Springville; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held June 1 at Lineville City Cemetery, Rev. Johnnie Curtin officiating. Bolton-Brown directed the services.
NORMAN TERRY WHITE
Shelby County High School student
Norman Terry White, 16, of Shelby, died May 31, 2000. He was a junior at Shelby County High School, where he was on the math team. He was a member of the Upward Bound program at the University of Montevallo and a youth counselor for the First Baptist Church of Columbiana at a migrant camp.
He is survived by his parents, Norman and Quilla Katrina White Sr.; a sister, Taree LaShe' White; grandparents, Charles and Willie White and Rev. David and Ollie Gay.
Services were held June 4 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana, Rev. Leslie Whiting Sr. officiating.
Burial was in Shelby Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home directing the services.

Sylacauga resident
Joyce T. Chandler, 59, of Sylacauga, died July 4, 2000, at Coosa Valley B.M.C.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Chandler of Sylacauga; two daughters, Rhonda Jennings and Robin Mayfield, both of Sylacauga; three brothers, Malcolm Bates Jr. and Jackie Will Bates, both of Sylacauga, and Paul Julius Bates of Calera; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held July 7 at 11 a.m. at Greenhill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Freddie Edwards, the Rev. Melvin Jennings and the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Curtis and Son Funeral Home, South Chapel in Sylacauga directed the services.

Evelyn Farrington, 34, of Montevallo, died July 4, 2000, at UAB Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Brittney DeShone and Whittney LaShonel parents, Robert Farrington Sr. and Ida Farrington; two brothers; one sister; and a host of other relatives.
Services were held July 8 at Faith Baptist Church in Montevallo, Rev. Cedric Tatum officiating. Burial was in Montevallo Cemetery, Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.
ROBERT E. "BOBBY" FORTENBERRY SR.
Member of First Baptist Church of Pelham
Robert E. "Bobby" Fortenberry Sr., 68, of Alabaster, died July 5, 2000. A member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham, he was a retired self-employed mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Fortenberry and brother, Billy Fortenberry.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Fortenberry; son, Robert E. Fortenberry Jr. and wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Lisa Fortenberry Boothe, Mary Lynn Fortenberry and Nelia Gail Pressley and husband, Al; grandchildren, Betty L. Pressley, Robby Boothe and Garrett Fortenberry; brothers, Jimmy Fortenberry and Tommy Fortenberry; and sisters, Betty Leard, Jo Thomas and Rebecca Guy.
Services were held July 8 at Southern Heritage Chapel, Rev. Mike Shaw officiating. Burial was in Jefferson Memorial Garden, Southern Heritage directing.

JOHN WESLEY NIX SR.
Veteran of World War II
John Wesley Nix Sr., 79, of Montevallo, died July 5, 2000. A member of Montevallo Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, he was retired from Alabama Power Company after 39 1/2 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.B. Nix and Mattie Eva Nix; a sister, Nellie Lucille Dixon; brother, Edgar Roy Nix, Bertie Bliss Nix Jr. and Luther Nix; and a granddaughter, Charlotte Kuick Nix.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cherry Lou Nix of Montevallo; two daughters, Cathy Dianne Nix Bearden and husband, Lonny, of Helena and Paula Aileen Nix Stephens and husband, Tim, of Montevallo; a son, John Westley Nix Jr. of Montevallo; two sisters, Emma Lydia Anderson of Houston, Texas and Lula Mae Sherrer of Montevallo; three brothers, William Daniel Nix of Katy, Texas, Mack Aaron Nix of Montevallo and George Archie Nix of Columbiana; six grandchildren, John Leonard Bearden III, Christopher Lane Bearden, Wesley Andrew Bearden, Joel Elwyn Bearden III, Ashley Lauren Stephens and Meagan Allyssa Stephens; and a great-grandchild, Wesley Ryan Bearden.
Services were held July 7 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bart Kingsley officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

CHARLES LEVOYD OWENS
Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars
Charles Levoyd Owens, 71, of El Cajon, Calif. and formerly of Siluria, died July 1, 2000. A retired security guard, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he was a Gunner's Mate First Class and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Owens of El Cajon, Calif.; three daughters, Charlien Heckeroth of Alpine, Calif., Sarah Owens of Costa Mesa, Calif. and Betty Jackson of Surrey, Canada; a son, Charles Owens Jr. of Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Barbra Higgins, Edna Brock and Betty Kite, all of Alabama; and six grandchildren.
Services were held July 5 at Paris-Frederick Mortuary in El Cajon, Calif., Paris-Frederick Mortuary directing.
WILLIE WEBB SEALES
Lifelong resident of Shelby County
Willie Webb Seales, 93, of Alabaster, died July 2, 2000. She was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a member of Siluria Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, John Dunaway Jr. of Helena; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 6 at Siluria Baptist Church.
Burial was in Roy Cemetery
in Helena, Bolton Brown Service directing.
EDWIN JACK SIMS JR.
Veteran of World War II
Edwin Jack Sims Jr., 76, of Montevallo, died July 8, 2000. A retired pharmacist, he was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara J. Sims.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Sims of Montevallo; two sons, Mike Sims and Dennis Sims, both of Montevallo; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine Beindorf and husband, Jim, of Greensboro, Ga.; five grandchildren, Jared Sims, Jeremy Sims and Jennifer Sims, all of Montevallo, Nicholas "Erica" Evans of Calera and Ben Evans of Montevallo; and a great-grandchild, Eric Evans of Calera.
Graveside services were held July 10 at Montevallo Cemetery. Rockco Funeral Home directed the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Providence Baptist Church in Montevallo.
EDWARD CORDELL TROUTT

Edward Cordell Troutt, 58, of Jemison, died July 8, 2000. He was a member of Duncanville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Troutt of Jemison; a daughter, Christy Elizabeth "Sally" Troutt of Tuscaloosa; two sons, Dale Troutt and Johnny Troutt, both of Fultondale; three sisters, Louise Troutt of Louisville, Ky., Annette Canant of McCalla and Elaine Stanley of Destin, Fla.; two grandchildren, Stephen Troutt and Jordan Troutt; and a nephew, Robert "Mac" Harrison.
Services were held at Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. James Buford officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
