DELITA DARLENE MURPHY

Brent resident

Delita Darlene Murphy, 21, of Brent, died June 12, 2000.

She is survived by her mother and father, Herbert and Mattie Murphy; three children, Jameka, Janicholas and Julius Murphy; and a host of other relatives. Services were held June 17 at Evangelist Temple Holiness Church in Brent, Rev. Calvin Meadows officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery, Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.

FRANCES JENELLE PARSON

Wilsonville resident

Frances Jenelle Parson, 71, of Wilsonville, died June 18, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie McEachern; sons, Norman O. "Chip" Parson III and Maurice Parson, all of Wilsonville; three grandchildren, Lauren Lea Parson, Mary Elizabeth Parson and Rebecca McEachern; and a sister, Patricia Payne of Hueytown.

Services were held June 20 at Bolton-Brown Chapel, Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial was in Fourmile Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

ROBERT EVERETT BARHAM

Veteran of the U.S. Air Force

Robert Everett Barham, 63, of Birmingham, died June 18, 2000. A life-long resident of Jefferson County, he was retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Barham; children, Robert Barham II, Ty Everett Barham, Duane Barham, Leroy barham, Sherry Reynolds and Michelle Barham; sisters, Anita Williams and Margaret Gooden; and 15 grandchildren.

Services were held June 24 at Smith and Gaston Southside Chapel, Rev. Reginald Brown officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Brighton Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home directing.

MANUEL "JOHN BOY" BOOTHE SR.

Green Pond resident

Manuel "John Boy" Boothe Sr., 97, of Green Pond, died June 19, 2000. He was a retired coal miner. He was a member of Smith Hill Baptist Church in West Blocton.

He is survived by four daughters, Guiendlyn Fay Casteal of Great Falls, Mont., Birtis Wemberly of Texas City, Texas, Robbie Ann Watson of Roswell, N.M., and Evelyn Louise Worrin of Fallon, Nev.; two sons, Charles Richard Boothe of Great Falls, Mont., and Jimmy Boothe of Great Falls, Mont.; two step-daughters, Martha Peppers of Green Pond and Mary Lou Nelson of West Blocton; four sisters, Mary Evelyn Clark of Calera, Mary Polk of Montevallo, Doris Herron of Montevallo and Helen Phillips of Montevallo; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 22 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Ben Corley and Ronnie Thompson presiding. Burial was in Boothtown Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

RALPH AARON BURCHAM SR.

Veteran of the U.S. Marines

Ralph Aaron Burcham Sr., 59, of Sterrett, died June 22, 2000. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-61.

He is survived by his wife, Era Nell Burcham; a daughter, Robbyn Burcham; a son, Ralp A. Burcham Jr.; a sister, Emma Gibson; brothers, John Burcham, W.A. Burcham, Tommy Burcham and Terry Burcham; a granddaughter, Tammy Burcham; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held June 24 at Davis Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Rev. Eugene Howard and Rev. Otto Brown officiating. Burial was in Lawley's Chapel, Kilgroe Funeral Home directing.

JOHN OTTO CRUMLEY JR.

World War II veteran

John Otto Crumley Jr., 74, of Indian Springs, died June 21, 2000. A native of the Cahaba Valley, he lived his life as a friend and a buddy to all, especially children.

Born September 7, 1925, he served his country participating in more than nine invasions during World War II in the South Pacific. He retired from TCI in 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Annie Crumley, and his sister, Ruth England.

He is survived by his daughters, Cricket Stafford, Jenny Cumberland and Sandi Key; a son, Lonnie Cummings; six grandchildren; and his special friend, Frankie Crumley; sisters, Eloise Barton and Patsy Smith; a brother, Tom Crumley; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Services were held June 23 at Southern Heritage with burial in Alan Cemetery. Ridout's Southern Heritage directing. The family request memorials in the name of John Crumley Jr. to University Hospital's Stroke or Cardiac Unit.

JACK MCCONNELL GRISSOM

Former minister and missionary

Jack McConnell Grissom, 73, of Birmingham, died June 21, 2000.

Rev. Grissom, known by everyone as Bro. Jack, was a missionary/pastor/teacher to Africa and Central America until an illness kept him from returning to the mission field. Bro. Jack served as pastor of the North Alabama Methodist Conference for 10 years and served as pastor of the Trinity Independent Church in Hoover and, at the time of his death, was serving Eastern Hills Bible Church in Pinson.

For 25 years, he also served as a board member for the Christian Service Mission. He was currently on the board with Africa Children's Mission and has served for five years with World Reach. In addition, he was with Crossties Ministry, an affiliate of Global Harvesters Missionary Organization, in Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dick, and his twin brother, James.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane Nelems Grissom; a daughter, Becky Key and her husband, Wayne; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Amy Key, all of Decatur; a bother, W.L. Grissom of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

Charter Funeral Home directed the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Crossties Ministry, Christian Service Mission or Hospice Southern Care at 1110 N. Chalkville Road, Trussville, AL 35473.

JODY HEATH

Sylacauga resident

Jody Heath, 21, of Sylacauga, died June 22, 2000 at his home.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Epperson of Bon Air; his father, Randall Heath of Sylacauga; a brother, Tony Epperson of Bon Air; grandparents, Charles Epperson, Barbara Epperson, Christine Hendrick and Henry Hendrick, all of Sylacauga; and great-grandmother, Cora McSheridan of Sylacauga.

Services were held June 24 at North Chapel, Rev. Don Grice and Rev. Donnie Blackman officiating.

Burial was in Greenhill Memorial Cemetery, Curtis and Son Funeral Home directing.

HERBIE Jackson INGRAM

Member of Spring Creek Baptist Church

Herbie Jackson Ingram,93, of Montevallo, died June 24, 2000. A farmer, he was a member of Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jean Patterson of Montevallo; a son and daughter-in-law, Houston D. Ingram and Jackie, of Montevallo; four grandchildren, Jeff Patterson, Lisa Lively, David Ingram and Julie Byrnes; and four great-grandchildren, April and Taylor Ingram and Clay Almonrode and Rachel Byrnes.

Services were held June 26 at Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rev. Scott Fowler and Rev. Perry Muse officiating. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

ROBERTA WILSON JOHNSON

Lifelong Helena resident

Roberta Wilson Johnson, 77, of Helena, died June 19, 2000. She was a member of Helena United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Helena.

She is survived by a daughter, Wonda Wood of Washington Court House, Ohio; three sisters, Rebecca Gothard of Bessemer, Margie Reynolds of Wilton and Helen Scott of Calera; a brother, Earl Wilson of Helena; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held June 21 at Helena Cemetery, Pat Minshew presiding. Rockco Funeral Home directed the services.

JAMES M. LITTLEFIELD

Montevallo resident

James M. Littlefield, 55, of Montevallo, died June 24, 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Littlefield of Montevallo; a daughter, Amy McKinney of Vincent; sons, Mike Swords of Montevallo and Tony Barnett of Montevallo; sisters, Faye Ashworth of Boaz and Jayne Clarke of Merietta, Ga.; and one grandchild, Stacy Barnett.

Services were held June 27 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Clyde Beam presiding. Burial was in Moores Cemetery in Montevallo, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
