She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Worthy of Montevallo and Linda Stagner of Columbiana; two sons, Carl Ray Holsomback of Montevallo and Johnny Holsomback of Helena; three sisters, Lorine Hughes of Columbiana, Etta McGuffie of Alabaster and Hazel Hyde of Dogwood; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 20 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Shirley Hosmer, Rev. Terry Hosmer, Rev. Bruce Smart and Rev. Charles Price officiating. Burial was in Ryans Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Bonnie M. Jones, 75, of Calera, died May 21, 2000. Retired from Specification Rubber, she was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Hill of Calera; five sons, Claude Henry Jones, Charles Allen Jones, Clarence Earl Jones, Clyde Raymond Jones and Calvin Burl Jones, all of Calera; a brother, Burl Morgan of Calera; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 23 at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Rev. Ronnie Porter officiating. Burial was in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Gladys Jeanette Jones, 84, of Montevallo, died May 17, 2000. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Mildred Jones of Birmingham, Jan Shoemaker of Montevallo, Sandra Botta of Vestavia and Barbara Wells of Calera; a son, Johnny Jones Jr. of Montevallo; four sisters, Frances Nabors of Montevallo, Lillian Crumpton of Alabaster, Wilma Scott of Montevallo and Nell Hamrick of Montevallo; two brothers, Mathis Lucas and Franklin Lucas of Montevallo; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 19 at Enon Baptist Church, Rev. Ed Ables, Rev. Pat Minshew and Rev. Hal Warren officiating. Burial was in Enon Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Leona H. Bush, 91, of Vandiver, died May 24, 2000.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Q. Bush; and a son, Paul Jerome Bush.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brasher of Vandiver; a son, Carl P. Bush of Bremen; a sister, Sadie Pitts of Pleasant Grove; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Helen Fleming, 88, of Harpersville, died May 27, 2000. She was a member of Arkwright Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Dison and husband, Raymond, of Harpersville and Martha Ann Alexander and husband, Harold, of Harpersville; four grandchildren, Vickie and husband, Terrell Vick, Randy Alexander, Beverly and husband, Mike Southern and Regina Alexander; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan Vick and wife, Bridgette, Patrick Vick, Jason Alexander, Hunter Southern, Molly Alexander; one great-great grandchild, Hannah Vick; and a sister, Audrey Green.

Kathryn Smith Franks, 78, of Columbiana, died May 23, 2000.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Brown and husband, Leslie; a granddaughter, Katie Brown; a grandson, Carl Brown, all of Columbiana; a sister, Charlotte Herston of Russellville; and three brothers, Basil Smith of Wilsonville, William Smith of Anniston and Nick Smith of Columbiana.

Pauline Jemison, 88, of Calera, died May 23, 2000 at Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Hale; a nephew, Robert Jemison; and a host of other relatives. Services were held May 27 at Good Shepherd Chapel in Montevallo, Rev. Lorenzo Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery
in Brierfield, Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.
FLOYD L. "SUG" LOVELADY
Member of Dogwood Grove Baptist Church
Floyd L. "Sug" Lovelady, 80, of Montevallo, died May 22, 2000. He was retired after 40 years with Hayes Air Craft and was a member of Dogwood Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brother, Earnest Lovelady of Montevallo; a nephew, James "Sonny" Doss of Tuscaloosa; and two nieces, Pattie Smith of Montevallo and Diane Stedium of Dallas, Ga. Graveside services were held May 25 at Montevallo Cemetery, Rev. Bob McHaffey officiating.
Rockco Funeral Home directed the services.

James C. Pate, 74, of Columbiana, died May 22, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Lavada Pate; son and daughter-in-law, J.W. Harris and Judy; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Nix and Wilburn; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 24 at Bolton-Brown Chapel.
Burial was in Pinelawn Gardens, Bolton-Brown Service directing the services.
KENNETH LAMAR STANDIFER

Kenneth Lamar Standifer, 82, of Alabaster, died Oct. 30, 1917.
A native of South Alabama, he and his wife moved to Alabaster in 1946, where he and his brother, Earl, began Standifer Brothers Construction. Several years later their brother, Dan, joined them in the construction business for a short time. Kenneth Standifer served as general contractor until he retired.
Many people will remember him for his vegetable garden. He always had a vegetable garden and gave away more than he kept.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mattie Standifer; four brothers, Paul Standifer, Jake Standifer, Earl Standifer and Dan Standifer; three sisters-in-law, Inez Standifer, Ruth Standifer, Helon Standifer; and one brother-in-law, Shelton Crews.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene Standifer; a daughter, Jackie Carter and husband, Jerry; two granddaughters, Kendall Carter and Trinity Carter; three brothers, James Standifer, Frank Standifer and Jack Standifer; one sister, Martha Crews; three sisters-in-law, Nuna Standifer, Connie Standifer and Mildred Erwin; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Services were held May 25 at Kingwood Assembly of God, Rev. Ron Cox and Jimmy Carter officiating.
Burial was in Still Memorial Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo directing.
