William H. "Bill" Mathis, 71, of Six Mile, died April 11, 2000. He was the owner of Mathis Motors in Montevallo, where he worked for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Onvie Stephens Mathis of Six Mile; a daughter, JoAnn Mathis of Six Mile; two sons, Cecil J. Mathis of Six Mile and Milton Mathis of Six Mile; four sisters, Roberta Willoughay of Birmingham, Mary Bell of Tarrant, Mozelle Thomas of Hayden and Nancy Campbell of Hoover; a brother, John Mathis of Warrior; and three grandchildren.
Services were held April 14 at Six Mile Baptist Church, Marcell Bo Burchfield presiding. Burial was in Six Mile Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
GEORGIANNA DALE THOMAS

Georgianna Dale Thomas, infant, of Westover, died April 7, 2000.
She is survived by her parents, Dawn Davis Thomas and Vernon Dale Thomas of Westover; half-sister, Amanda Thomas of Westover; half-brother, Brian Thomas of Columbiana; grandparents, George and Evelyn Davis of Westover and Glenn and Doris Thomas of Columbiana; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services were held April 12 at Mt. Signal Cemetery.
MARY HARRIS ALLEN
Member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church
Mary Harris Allen, 85, of Pea Ridge, died April 17, 2000. A member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, she was a graduate of the University of Montevallo with a master's degree in education. She was a teacher at Calera Elementary School for 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Allen Kirby.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dewey Allen of Pea Ridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Sara Allen of Alabaster; a son-in-law, John Kirby of Birmingham; three sisters, Vandora Bunch of Helena, Joyce Haynie of Pea Ridge and Betty Holcomb of Montevallo; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held April 19 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Oneal Cleckler officiating. Burial was in Montevallo City Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
HAZEL PICKETT BAKER

Hazel Pickett Baker, of Montgomery, died April 14, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ann and Charles Dickey of Montgomery; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Barbara Baker of Wetumpka; a brother, Andrew Pickett of Merritt Island, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Scott Baker, Jeff Dickey, Brett Dickey and Meagan Dickey.
Services were held April 17 at Leak Memory Chapel, Rev. Lee Wright and Rev. Morgan Bailey officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Leak Memory Chapel directing.

Jessie Earlee Childs, 75, of Jemison, died April 19, 2000, at his home. He was a longtime employee of Vulcan Material in Calera.
He is survived by his wife Mary Childs; 11 children; 32 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.
Services were held April 22 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Jemison, Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery, The Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.

Illa Cofer, 87, of Alabaster, died April 20, 2000. She was retired from Siluria Mills.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services were held April 21 at Elliotsville Presbyterian Church, Rev. Chris Joiner officiating. Burial was in adjoining Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

Mary Frances Davis, 75, of Chicago and formerly of Centerville, died April 16, 2000.
She is survived by six sisters; one brother; and a host of other relatives.

Harold A. Estes, 88, of Calera died April 19, 2000.
He is survived by his daughter, Phoebe Sellers of Eldorado, Ark.; step-son, Ralph Thrasher of Alabaster; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services were held April 22 at Calera First United Methodist Church, Rev. Terry Hill and Rev. Marvin Edmondson officiating. Burial was in Shelby Memory Gardens, Shelby Memory Funeral Home directing.

Travis Marvin Giles, 46, of Calera, died April 20, 2000.
He is survived by his brother, Archie Giles of Calera; a niece; and two nephews. Services were held April 22 at Bolton-Brown Chapel. Burial was in Old Rock Springs Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.
DORIS LUTTRELL HILL

Doris Luttrell Hill, died April 10, 2000. She was the owner of Dot Hill Realty, Charlotte, N.C. In recent years, living in Spartanburg and Greer, S.C., she served as a Licensed Unity Leader in the southeast.
She is survived by six children, Robert White Hill of Marietta, Ga., James Richard Hill of Greer, S.C., Frank Lawson Hill Jr. of Matthews, N.C., Steven Craig Hill of Conway, S.C., Douglas Keith Hill of Sunset Beach, N.C. and Kathryn Hill Mitchell of Greer, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, June Luttrell Martin of Daphne.
A memorial service was held at Unity Center, Arden, N.C.

Katherine Hatcher Johnson, 72, of Six Mile, died April 18, 2000. She was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Rhonda Johnson of Six Mile; a sister, Mae Shrader of Sardinia, Ohio; three brothers, Eugene Hatcher of Thayer, Kansas, Jimmy Hatcher of Lavurne and Don Hatcher of Destin, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held April 20 at Harpersville Cemetery, Rev. Marchell Bo Burchfield officiating. Rockco Funeral Home directed the services.
