LEE Washington GARRETT
ALPINE — Funeral service for Lee Washington Garrett, 63, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kingston Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cornelius Wilson Brown III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Garrett died Sept. 23 in Alpine. He was a member of Kingston Missionary Baptist Church, attended Nottingham Junior High School, and retired from Labor Local 559. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Garrett and Pary Lee Swain Garrett.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Swain Garrett of Alpine; one daughter, Evelene Garrett of Alpine; five sons, Michael Garrett, Douglas Garrett, Willie Garrett and Curtis Garrett of Alpine and Vince Garrett of Sylacauga; one stepson, Willie A. Swain of Union Springs; two sisters, Cora Garrett of Cleveland and Dorothy Whiteside of Alpine; two brothers, David Garrett of Cleveland and Demos Garrett of Alpine; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Swain, Kenney Garrett, Frankie Garrett, Rickey Swain, Terry Swain, Flemming Garrett, Edward Garrett and David Garrett.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.
LADETERICH LAMARN WRIGHT
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Ladeterich Lamarn Wright, 24, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Ministries with the Rev. Darryl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Wright died Sept. 25 at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was a graduate of Talladega High School and was a former employee of NHB Industries Inc., Wal-Mart and Wehadkee Yarn Mills. He was a former member of Lilly Hill Baptist Church and attended Faith Temple Ministries.
He is survived by his wife, Sharmeka Dye Wright of Talladega; one son, DeQuavion Wright of Talladega; his parents, Deterich Massingale of Montgomery and Evelyn Wright of Talladega; two sisters, Taneshia Wright and Fashundra Wright of Talladega; and two brothers, Rodrekius Wright of Talladega and Demetrick DeWayne Thomas of Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Hall, Tavaris Barclay, Wendell Hall, Jamar Reaves, Carlos Hall, Corey Groce, Shawn Stamps and Ronald Curry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Black Men United.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

ANNISTON — Mary Chatmon, 79, formerly of Talladega County, died Sept. 27 at Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.
KENNETH RAY GALLMAN
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Kenneth Ray Gallman, 49, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Tony McGrady and Tom Hilyer officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mr. Gallman died Sept. 28 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was an employee of Avondale Mills and was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Glenn “Tank” Gallman.
He is survived by two sons, Shannon Johnson of Tuscaloosa and Barry Shane McCullough of Sylacauga; two daughters, Jennifer Gallman and Jessica Gallman of Sylacauga; his parents, Joseph Gallman and Roselle Gallman of Sylacauga; one brother, Mitch Gallman of Syalcauga; one sister, Pam Barnett of Sylacauga; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ben Gallman, Shane Harris, Shane Goodson, Terry Debardelabon, Troy Bearden and Keith Barnett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

CECIL DEWEY GREEN SR.
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Cecil Dewey Green Sr., 56, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Green died Sept. 27 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, a member of the National Hot Rod Association, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed by Crown Textile for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Green and Lillie Green; a brother, John Green; a daughter-in-law, Susan B. Green; and a grandnephew, Anthony Russell.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Green of Talladega; one daughter, Tiawana G. Lackey of Lineville; one son, Bubba Green of Pell City; one sister, Frances Owen of Lincoln; two brothers, Frank Lindsey of Big Spring, Texas, and Charles Green of Lincoln; and four granddaughters, Viranda Lackey, Carrie Lackey, Callie Green and Stephanie Green.
Pallbearers will be John Curry, Bob Riley, Tim Oliver, George Landers, James Pate and Terry Ingram.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Hind, Eddie Haney, Art Riley, Steve Oliver and Edward Cox.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and at the chapel for one hour before the service.

ANNISTON — Roy H. Kirksey, 68, formerly of Talladega County, died Sept. 28 at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

DAISY LANGLEY POPE
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Daisy Langley Pope, 93, will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pope died Sept. 27 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, a member of Bemiston Baptist Church and a retired employee of Barry Manufacturing Company.
She is survived by two sisters, Eula Belle Grogan and Hattie Fields of Talladega; one stepson, Elon Pope of Talladega; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be great-grandnephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
GENEVA J. PRESTON
LINEVILLE — Funeral service for Geneva J. Preston, 83, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church North with the Revs. Glanville Gauldin, L.C. Harris and Braden Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Preston died Sept. 28 at Clay County Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church North. She worked several years at Higgins Manufacturing and followed convention and gospel singing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil R. Harrington and Annie Sprayberry Harrington; a sister, Edith Hyatt; and a brother, Raeford Harrington.
She is survived by her husband, A.D. Preston of Lineville; three daughters, Carol Preston Magee of Montgomery, Joan D. Nieves of Alabaster and Julia K. Reed of Stanton, Va.; one son, Van R. Preston of Lineville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 to 10 a.m. The body may be viewed at the church for one hour prior to the service.
