Jimmy Kater Brookins, 71, of Calera, died Feb. 1, 2000. A life-long Shelby County resident, he was retired from the Calera Maintenance Department.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Rogers, Rev. Donnie Brookins, Larry Brookins, Brady Brookins, Harold Brookins, Jimmy Brookins Jr. and Johnny Brookins; daughters, Janice Brookins, Shirley Robinson, Hattie Lambert, Vanessa Wilson and Barbara Fluker; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 8 at Westside Funeral Chapel, Rev. Dr. Rogers L. White officiating. Burial was in First Baptist Church of Calera Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home directing.
MILDRED E. GARRETT
Life-long member of Concord Baptist Church
Mildred E. Garrett, 79, of Calera, died Feb. 12, 2000. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Garrett of Calera; two daughters, Debra Lovelady of Montevallo and Wanda Lawley of Alabaster; four grandchildren, Lee Lawley, Lesley Lovelady, Chip Lovelady and Clinton Garrett; two sisters, Dorothy Venz and Maxine Goray of Birmingham; and special friends, Linda Burnett and Betty Glass.
Services were held Feb. 13 at Concord Baptist Church. Burial was in Elliottsville Cemetery, Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
REV. MELVIN THOMAS MCGAUGHY
Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict
Rev. Melvin Thomas McGaughy, 70, of Alabaster, died Feb. 11, 2000.
A member of Dogwood Assembly of God, he has served as a minister for the Assemblies of God since 1953 and was ordained in 1962. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a member of V.F.W. Post 668 in Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Lucille McGaughy of Alabaster; two daughters, Annie Ruth Turner of Pinson and Barbara Jane Price of Calera; a sister, Eleanor Viles of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Jimmy Herman McGaughy of Montevallo; three grandchildren, Stacey Shirley of Pinson, Julie Moore of Calera and Roger Dale Price Jr. of Calera; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 14 at Pelham Assembly of God, Rev. William Lawrence Jones officiating. Burial was in Still Memorial Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
EUNICE KENDRICK MINOR
Member of K-Springs Church of God
Eunice Kendrick Minor, 97, of Chelsea, died Feb. 11, 2000. She was a member of K-Springs Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verne Minor; a son, Wilford Minor Jr.; and a daughter, Chris Craig.
She is survived by her daughter, Mickey Griffin of Chelsea; two sons, Elzie Minor of Chelsea and Billy Minor of Gulf Shores; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 14 at K-Springs Church of God, Rev. John Milstead officiating. Burial was in adjoining Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

Perry L. Patterson, 39, of Columbiana, died Feb. 3, 2000.
He is survived by his mother, Eddie Mae Patterson; three children, Latasha Smith, Perry Smith and Tianthony Smith; two brothers, Johnny Patterson and James Patterson; three sisters, Jewel Anne Cole, Catherine Cotton and Doris Williams; and a host of other relatives.
Services were held Feb. 12 at First Baptist Church in Wilsonville, Rev. Troy Holley officiating. Burial was in Community Cemetery
in Wilsonville, Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.

Member of Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church
Timothy Blake Price, 33, of Brierfield, died Feb. 9, 2000. He was a member of Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church for 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Price.
He is survived by his wife, Sheree Brown Price of Brierfield; a daughter, Stephanie Price; two sons, Lynn Price and Timmy Price; mother and father, Alice Price and William Price, of Birmingham; and two brothers, Donnie Price of Moody and Phillip Price of Brierfield.
Services were held Feb. 12 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Den Jackson officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.
WILLARD REACH
World War II veteran
Willard Reach, 79, of Alabaster, died Feb. 8, 2000. A retired hackney, he was a member of Siluria Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dessie Braswell Reach and a son, Jerry Reach.
He is survived by his daughter, Joann Brasher and husband, J.D., of Alabaster; a sister, Estelle Redd of Maylene; a brother, Ennis Reach of Dogwood; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 9 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Harper and Rev. Carlton Griggs officiating.
Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing the services.

Annie Bell Price Roberson, 85, of Brent, died Feb. 7, 2000. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Childersburg and was retired from Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rushen Roberson Sr. and a daughter, Dorothy Ham.
She is survived by her sons, Randy Roberson and wife, Sandra, of Childersburg and Charles Parker and wife, Delores, of Childersburg; daughters, Ann Lyda and husband, Larry, of Foley and Edna Kohn and husband, Ralph, of Montgomery; a brother, Douglas Price of Pell City; sisters, Sederia Murphy of Brent, Janie Falkenberry of Brent, Margaret Jenkins of Fultondale, Tommy Ellison of West Blocton and Norma Faucette of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 9 at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Mike Ratliff officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery, Radney-Smith Funeral Home directing.

Oliver J. Sellers, 72, of Calera, died Feb. 4, 2000. A veteran of World War II, he was retired from U.S. Steel and was past commander of American Legion Post 171. He was also a member of Voiture 172 and VFW 668.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Faye Sellers of Calera; daughters, Nancy Shannon Sellers, Beth Preston and Lee Ellen Love, all of Birmingham, Connie Thames of Alabaster, Gladys Schaifer of Bessemer and Lisa Sims of Calera; sons, David Sellers and Jude Sellers, both of Birmingham, Oliver John Sellers of Opelika, Matthew Sellers of South Korea and Dale Hughes of Foley; brothers, Robert Sellers of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Raymond Sellers of Vallejo, Calif.; a twin sister, Teri Sellers of Panama City Beach, Fla.; mother-in-law, Frances Stamps of Alabaster; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a beloved pet, Toby.
Services were held Feb. 8 at Jefferson Memorial Chapel, Father Andy Kennedy officiating.
Burial was in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Novis C. Tate, 84, of Calera, died Feb. 2, 2000. She was a member of Columbiana Nazarene Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Walton, Vergie Washington and Brenda Presley, all of Calera; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Verbon Miller of Arab, Delmer Miller of Birmingham and Herbie Miller of Westover; and one sister, Violet Davis of Green Pond.
