Allie A. Daniel, 96, of Clarksville, Tenn. and formerly of Vincent, died Jan. 17, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter, Esteen Mann of Columbiana; a son, R.J. Albright of Vincent; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Jan. 19 at Harpersville Cemetery, Rev. Jerry Baker officiating. Bolton-Brown directed the services.

JOEL H. HAND

Member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church

Joel H. Hand, 78, of Columbiana, died Jan. 16, 2000. He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Hand of Columbiana; two sons, Richard Hand of Niceville, Fla. and Daniel Hand of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 19 at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Rev. Carol Spain officiating. Burial was in adjoining Cemetery, Bolton-Brown service directing.

CHARLES ROYCE LANGSTON

Office Manager for U.S. Pipe

Charles Royce Langston, 61, of Alabaster, died Jan. 22, 2000. He was an office manager for U.S. Pipe.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Langston; a son, Anthony Langston; a daughter-in-law, Melody Langston; and grandson, Charles Spencer Wade Langston, all of Alabaster; a brother-in-law, W.D. Stone of Tuscaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Jan. 24, Rev. Carl Thomason officiating. Bolton-Brown Service directing.

JAMES "JIM" CULLMAN LITTLEFIELD

Member of Sardis Nazarene Church

James "Jim" Cullman Littlefield, 77, of Montevallo, died Jan. 23, 2000. A member of Sardis Nazerene Church, he was a retired coal miner and a member of United Mine Workers Association District 20. He was also an avid fisherman and racoon hunter.

He is survived by two daughters, Faye Ashworth of Boaz and Jayne Clark of Mariette, Ga.; a step-daughter, Glenda Whitten of Birmingham; three sons, James Milton Littlefield of Montevallo, Richard Franklin Littlefield of Boaz and David Cullman Littlefield of Montevallo; a step-son, Gordon Bell of Bessemer; a sister, Dorothy Hicks of Centreville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a special friend, Jennie Polk of Montevallo; a special nephew, Deon Littlefield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Jan. 25 at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

LUCILLE MOODY MITCHELL

Member of Enon Baptist Church

Lucille Moody Mitchell, 90, of Montevallo, died Jan. 20, 2000. A homemaker, she was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She was a member of Family and Community Education and received the Extension Homemakers 50 year award from the National Extension Homemaker Council in 1985.

She also received the 50 Year Appreciation Award from the Home Economics Program in 1986.

She is survived by two daughters Dorothy Lucas of Montevallo and Eloise Edwards of Montevallo; two sisters, Linda Keith of New Market and Joannette Frith of Centreville; a brother, George Moody of Centreville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 22 at Enon Baptist Church, Rev. Pat Minshew, Rev. John Duncan and Rev. Ed Ables officiating. Burial was in Enon Baptist Church, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

RONALD "RON" L. MOORE

Founder of "His Kids Club"

Ronald "Ron" L. Moore, 44, of Chelsea, died Jan. 20, 2000. He was the founder of "His Kids Club" and ministered to children in Chelsea and the inner city.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Moore of Chelsea; two daughters, Cayla Moore and Kelsey Moore of Chelsea; parents, Dana Moore and Willie Moore of Chelsea; mother-in-law, Marlene Shaw of Shelby; a brother, Michael Moore of Chelsea; two sisters, Teri Breightiner of Washington, D.C. and Patricia Moore of Chelsea; two nieces, Nikki Jones and Davicia Thomas; and two nephews, Keith Moore and Kyle Moore, of Chelsea.

Services were held Jan. 22 at Hoover Advent Cemetery, Rev. Paul Bowling officiating. Burial was in K-Springs Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.

REUBEN OAKES

Vincent resident

Reuben Oakes, 85, of Vincent, died Jan. 14, 2000 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Oakes of Vincent; three sons, Kyle Oakes, Donald Oakes and Charlie Oakes, all of Vincent; five daughters, JoAnne Craig of Vandiver, Ruby Weeks of Gardendale, Martha Whitten of Raleigh, N.C., Marilyn Johnson of Vincent and Cathy Tinney of Pelham; a brother, Estes Oakes of Sylacauga; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 16 at Arkwright Baptist Church, Rev. Don Morris officiating. Burial was in Arkwright Baptist Cemetery, Curtis and Son Funeral Home directing.

JEFFREY LLOYD RAY

Shift leader for Dravo Lime

Jeffrey Lloyd Ray, 37, of Calera, died Jan. 20, 2000. He was a shift leader for Dravo Lime Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd "Dee" Ray and Patsy Ray; and sisters, Debbie Ray Williams and Patty Ray Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Ray of Calera; two sons, Jeffrey Aaron Ray and Christopher Lloyd Ray of Calera; and a special pet, Curlie Sue.

Services were held Jan. 22 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bobby Coston officiating.

CORTNEY RUTLEDGE

Childersburg resident

Cortney Rutledge, 3, of Childersburg, died Jan. 16, 2000 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center.

She is survived by her parents, Evelyn Rutledge and Sammy Bishop III and a host of other relatives.

Services were held Jan. 22 at Present Truth Tabernacle in Centreville, Rev. Calvin Meadows officiating. Burial was in Cooper Cemetery, Good Shepherd Funeral Home directing.

LEVONIA COLEMAN SUMMERFIELD

Member of 32nd Street Baptist Church

Levonia Coleman Summerfield, 88, of Birmingham, died Jan. 15, 2000. She was a life-long resident of Jefferson County and was a member of 32nd Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Erma Harris Cheatham; brothers, Charles Sumlin and Harold Summerfield; a sister, Grace King; grandchildren, Larry Cheatham, Theodore Cheatham Jr., Thedoris Brown, Cynthia Thomas and Pamela Cook; 15 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 21 at South Elyton Baptist Church, Rev. Reginald Brown officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home directing.

RUEHANNAH WELLS

Ruehannah Wells, 80, of Columbiana, died Jan. 23, 2000. She was a member of Calera Church of Christ.

She is survived by her nephew, Fredrick Varden of Huntsville.

Services were held Jan. 25 at Calera Church of Christ, Rev. Pete Fuller officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Bolton-Brown Service directing.
