JACK MARION WAINWRIGHT III

Jack Marion Wainwright III, 53, of Thomasville and formerly of Birmingham, died Aug. 29, 1998.
He was president and chief executive officer of First United Security Bank in Thomasville. He attended John Carroll High School and was a 1967 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College. He also served in the United States Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Andrea King Wainwright of Thomasville; father, Jack M. Wainwright Jr.; sisters, Paige Marion Wainwright and Mary Laura Wainwright and a brother, William M. Wainwright, all of Birmingham.
Services were held Sept. 1 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Birmingham.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Ridout's Valley Chapel directing the services.

Member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster
Maurine Bateman, 45, of Alabaster, died Sept. 11, 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster, where she was actively involved in the music ministry.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Bateman of Alabaster; a son, Nathan Bateman of Alabaster; parents, Milton and Joyce Pace of Alabaster; grandmothers, Ima Pace of Meridian, Miss. and Ina Covington of Orange, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Scott Pace and wife, Cindi of Muleshow, Texas and a sister, Connie Pace of Jackson, Miss.
Services were held Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Burial was in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
KAITLAN ALEXIS CARTER

Kaitlan Alexis Carter, six months, of Calera, died Sept. 3, 1998.
She is survived by her parents, Shawn Carter and Jared Gilliland; grandparents, Terri Carter, Ray Carter and Addie Gilliland and great-grandparents, Willie Bush and Lucy Kelton.
Services were held Sept. 10 at First Baptist Church of Wilsonville, Rev. Troy Holley officiating.
Burial was in Harpersville Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home directing.
REV. JOHN LYNN EBAUGH III
Retired Episcopal Priest
Rev. John Lynn Ebaugh III died Sept. 13, 1998. He was a retired Episcopal Priest of churches throughout Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joy Richard Ebaugh; four children, Kenneth Ebaugh, Dr. Lynn Ebaugh of Memphis, Tenn., Karen Ebaugh Lamb of Louisville, Co. and Jennifer Ebaugh Collins of Cleveland; nine grandchildren and a sister, Clara Ebaugh Brown of Birmingham.
Charter Funeral Home directed the services.

Lois Lafayette Epperson, 75, of Brierfield, died Sept. 8, 1998. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Spears of Brierfield and Jo Ann Blackwell of Brierfield; four sons, Mark Epperson of Montevallo and Rex Epperson, Ted Epperson and Roy Epperson, all of Brierfield; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 10, Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating.
Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery, Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Giles Milton Ivory, 59, of Brooklyn, New York, died Sept. 4, 1998. A native of Jefferson County, he was employed with the City of New York Public School System.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Slade Ivory; sons, Marvin Ivory, Cerron Ivory and Howard Ivory; daughter, Hellena Ivory and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Sept. 5 at Smith and Gaston Southside Chapel, Rev. Recardo Cook officiating.
Burial was in George Washington Carver Memorial Park, Westside Funeral Home directing.
JACK EDWIN JOHNSON

Jack Edwin Johnson, 81, of Columbiana, died Sept. 8, 1998 after a long illness. A member of Columbiana United Methodist Church, he was a former member of the Alabaster Rotary Club and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice "Bea" Elwell Johnson of Columbiana; a daughter, Cherly Johnson of Hoover; a sister, Virginia Taylor of Wilsonville; three nieces and five nephews.
Graveside services were held Sept. 10 at Elmwood Cemetery, Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be made to the Columbiana United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society.

Ralph Van Scott, 50, of Alabaster, died Sept. 13, 1998.
A member of Kingwood Assembly of God, he was president of Professional Title Services Inc. and was a member of the Birmingham Board of Realtors, Homebuilders Association of Alabama, Birmingham Area Chamber of Commerce and the American Land Title ASsociation. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vertis Screws.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Smalley Scott of Alabaster; three daughters, Alicia Scott Stewart and husband William of Alabaster, Stacey Leigh Scott of Alabaster and Leslie Brooke Scott of Alabaster; a grandson, Jared Scott Stewart of Alabaster; father, Herman Screws and wife Louise of Leeds, two brothers, Craig Stephen Screws of Alabaster and Ronald Terry Screws of Fultondale; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.B. and Teen Smalley of Alabaster; sister-in-law, Susan Smalley Clark of Alabaster; two nieces, Jamie Allison Bevis and Christy Lynn Screws and two nephews, Jason Evan Screws and Brian Stephen Screws.
Services were held Sept. 16 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel. Burial was in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
