Farris "Slick" Wayne Mayfield, 78, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. Mayfield was a native of Franklin County and member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Russellville. He was an active member, served as deacon and taught Sunday school for a number of years. He was owner and operator of Mayfield's Barber shop for 50 years.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Ken Taylor officiating.
Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery
at Liberty Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Alred Mayfield, of Russellville; children, Sheila Taylor, of New Orleans, La., Renea Trapp, of Russellville, Gary Mayfield, of South Haven, Miss., Jeremy Mayfield, of Russellville; brother, Glen Mayfield and wife, Linda, of Russellville; 11 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Doris Nix Mayfield and his parents, Oscar and Bessie Mayfield.

Martha A. Kimbrough Mills, 69, Russellville, Ala. passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her residence with her family by her side.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Kimbrough and Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Interment was in Crooked Oak Cemetery.
The pallbearers were John Martin, Tony Allen, Brent Hester, BJ McGaughy, Chris McGaughy and Ryan Allen.
She was preceded in death by husband, C. J. Mills; son, Mike Mills; parents Harvey & Gladys Roberts Kimbrough; grandson, Wesley Cartee.
She is survived by children, Brenda Mills, Terry Ray Mills, Sheila Mills, Harvey "Bo" Mills and wife, Tina Lee, Donna Mills and husband, John Martin; siblings, Linda McGaughy and husband, Cecil, Kenneth Kimbrough and wife, Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Dewayne Cartee, Shane Cartee, Ryan Allen, Brittany Mills, Christy Mills, Summer Mitchell, Sabrina McCafferty; several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Baptist Church. Special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama especially her nurses, Mandy, Joyce and Bobbie.

O'Neal Berry, 57, of Lynn, Ala. passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his residence. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held June 19, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Mickey Crane officiating. Burial was in Lynn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Berry; children, Anthony Berry, Nathan Berry, Kayla Aldridge and husband, John, Ava Tune, Janet Knight and husband, Bobby, Brian Berry and Jason Berry; brother, Joe Berry and wife, Kathy; sister, Dean Dickinson and husband, Tony; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubbert and Dena Berry; children, Matthew Lee and Cody Blake Berry; and sister, Ada Berry.

Abraham Jackson, Jr., 63, of Russellville, Ala. passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services were held June 21, 2009 at Spry Memorial Chapel with officiating will Bro. Michael Flaherty. Interment will be in Grassy Cemetery
in Lexington, Ala.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abraham Jackson, Sr. and Mary Naomi Adams Jackson; two brothers; and infant brother.
He is survived by his brother, Clayton Jackson, of Leachville, Ark.; sisters, Dorothy Payne, Margie Frizer, both of Russellville, Maggie Glenn, of Hillsboro, Ala. and Dessie Tidwell, of Tuscumbia, Ala.; eight children; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gary Don McCluskey, 59, of Hackleburg, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. McCluskey was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville. He was a member of Phil Campbell Masonic Lodge 880. He worked for U.S. Reduction for several years, was a self-employed barber for 22 years and employed by Russellville Police Department as dispatcher.
He was a graduate of Russellville High School class of 1968. He enjoyed playing music.
There was a memorial service Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home with Masonic rites.
He leaves behind wife, Sheila McCluskey, Hackleburg; daughter, Heather D. McCluskey, Russellville; sister, Joyce Hagood and husband, Bill, Roxboro, N.C.; brothers, J. L. McCluskey, Russellville, Larry McCluskey and wife, Kathy, Florence; brother-in-law, Bill Hallmark, Florence; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Tammy Ward, Keith Morrow, David Longmire and many more; faithful dog, Thor.
He was preceded in death by father, Lester McCluskey; mother, Lennie McCluskey; brother, Aron McCluskey; sister, Helen Hallmark; sister-in-law, Connie McCluskey; nephews, Larry Don McCluskey and Larry Kane McCluskey.

Raymie Edward McMicken, 42, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, July 07, 2009.
The visitation was Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Akins Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Friday, July 10, 2009 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Buddy Matthews & Peggy Mathheus officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Edward McMicken and Carolyn Sandusty McMicken Fergerson.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Maloney McMicken; sons, Dillon Andrew McMicken, Stetson Crews; daughter, Victoria Lynn Weeks; several nieces and nephews.

Edna Louise Harris, 78, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at ECM Hospital in Florence.
Funeral services were held August 3, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville, with Brother Jack Harris officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She was a faithful member of Centerview Church of Christ. Her many acts of Christian kindness were a great role model for her children and grandchildren. She was a retired seamstress from H.D. Lee, Co.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hester and husband, Billy, of Russellville; son, Terry Harris and wife, Allison, of Florence; sister, Betty Grimes, of Russellville; brother, Carl Jackson and wife, Iva Lee, of Russellville; grandchildren, Mark Hester, of Florence, Mike Hester and wife, Lisa, of Tuscumbia, Lea Easley and husband, Cal, of Jackson, Miss., Beth Pride Harris, of Florence; seven great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Harris; sons, Wayne Bryan and Tommy Harris; parents, Truman and Margie Jackson; dear sister, Mavis Dill; brothers, Wayne Jackson and J.C. Jackson, all of Russellville.
Pallbearers were Gene Hester, Bob Rickard, Jimmy Sparks, Gerald Ricketts, Donnie Horton and Greg Hovater.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
