Carnie A. Newton, age 91, of Vina, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004, at Carrington House in Iuka, Mississippi.
Mr. Newton was retired from Ford Motor Company after 25 years and was a member of Sparks Chapel Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lonie Newton, in 2001; his parents, Virgil and Martha Newton; three brothers, Tom Newton, Joe Newton and Bill Newton; and one sister, Ena Gladbach.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2004, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Fred House officiating. Interment was in Sparks Cemetery.
Mr. Newton is survived by two daughters, Gerlda Brown and husband Clarence, and Ann Huguley and husband Lewis, both of Vina; a son, Lowell Newton and wife Patricia, of Huntsville; two brothers, Foy Newton of Florence and Larry Newton of Red Bay; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Isaac Walton Sullins, age 61, of Russellville, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004.
Mr. Sullins was born in Marion County and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lona Sullins.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2004, at Hamilton Cemetery
with Rev. Kerry Smith officiating.
Pallbearers were Mr. Sullins' nephews.
Mr. Sullins is survived by two daughters, Kelley Morris and husband Keith, of Sarasota, Florida, and Michelle Kelley and husband Steven, of Racine, Wisconsin; a sister, Anna Collene Willis and husband John Walter, of Russellville; a brother, Edward (Billy) Sullins and wife Dottie, of Charleston, South Carolina; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ome U. Vinson, age 76, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2004.
Mr. Vinson was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. He had retired from Chrysler and was also past president of UAW Local 1183. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Vinson and Myrtle Poss Vinson; and a brother, William Paul Vinson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wayne Boyles officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were John Crain, Tommy Vinson, Blake Crain, Jordan Boyles, Mark Boyles and Jimmy Poss.
Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife, Thelma Brown Vinson; seven children, Brenda Murray and husband Gordon, Gary Vinson and wife Jean, Allen Crain and wife Doris, Kim Dugan, Judy Crain, Cyndie Boyles and husband Mark, and John Crain and wife Dana; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

Jessie L. Wingo, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Monroe Center, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004, at home.
Mrs. Wingo was born March 23, 1915, in Russellville, the daughter of William D. and Ella S. Moore Dill. She married Samuel J. Wingo on December 20, 1931, in Franklin County. He passed away on December 18, 1990. Mrs. Wingo loved playing bingo, bowling and spending time at the Chana Sale Barn. She also loved gardening, canning, fishing and beautiful flowers. She taught all of her daughters to sew and enjoyed Wednesday evening craft nights with her family. Mrs. Wingo was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Gib, Clyde and Bill Dill; and a sister, Dona Scott.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2004, at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, Illinois, with Pastor Mark Campbell officiating.
Mrs. Wingo is survived by a son, Harold Wingo and wife Mary, of Monroe Center, Illinois; six daughters, Patsy Hawley of Monroe Center, Illinois, Sara Resenbeck and husband Ralph, of Rockford, Illinois, Jeanette Hicks and husband James, of Stillman Valley, Illinois, Shirley Johnson and husband John, of Monroe Center, Illinois, Nancy Coyne and husband David, of Byron, Illinois, and Kathy Meseck and husband Phil, of Belvidere, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren; and forty great-grandchildren.

Clarence David Burks, age 90, of Red Bay, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Red Bay Hospital.
Mr. Burks was a native of Alabama and was employed with Russellville School in maintenance for 25 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Mr. Burks was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Burks in 2002.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Bro. Hollis Boyd officiating. Interment was in Halltown Cemetery.
Mr. Burks is survived by four nieces, Sylvia Sims of Sulligent, Ruth Lofton and husband Nathan, of Vina, Marjorie Barksdale and husband Edward, of Vina, and Marie Johnson of Arkansas; two nephews, Arvie Upton of Vina and James Humphries of Red Bay; a step-son, Ray Lindley of Marion, Illinois; a step-granddaughter, Louise Powers of Chicago; and several other step-grandchildren.

Audrey Bessie Hamilton, age 93, of Spruce Pine, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004.
Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, Rothmer Neal Hamilton; a son, Dallas B. "Dick" Hamilton; and a daughter, Connie Sue Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Carl Gilbert and Bro. Lonnie Oldag officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Grissom, Roger Grissom, Tony Champion, Jay Hamilton, Peyton Grissom, Ryan Champion, Christopher Grissom and Parker Grissom.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by a daughter, Doris June Grissom and husband Roy, of Spruce Pine; a sister, Bernice Lawler of Chicago; six grandchildren, Michael Grissom and wife Tynette, of Dora, Roger Grissom and wife Missie, of Hackleburg, SFC Victor Hamilton (presently serving in Iraq) and wife LaVonna, of Smithville, Tennessee, Kelly Champion and husband Tony, of Spruce Pine, Kristi Gerding and husband Jason, of Cullman, and Norma Burleson and husband Mike, of Phoenix, Arizona; ten great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
