Graveside services for Julia Dot Lockett, 66, of Jackson's Gap were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Dadeville City Cemetery. Bro. Ed Brown officiated. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004.
Mrs. Lockett died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004. She was born Sunday, Jan. 2, 1938.
She is survived by one daughter, Lori Lockett Betts and husband Bobby of Dadeville; one sister, Diane Hunter and husband Wayne of Alexander City and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Deanna Jane Holloway Densmore, 50, of Meridian, Miss., formerly of Alexander City will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Radney Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Mike Densmore and Patsy Coe Densmore will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until service time Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004. A memorial service will be held in the Sanctuary of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Meridian, Miss., at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004.
Mrs. Densmore died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. She was born on Nov. 3, 1953, in Alexander City to Thomas Woodrow and Mary Edna Peters Holloway. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Meridian and worked as a homemaker and volunteer for several organizations.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Ken Densmore of Meridian, Miss.; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, the Revs. Mike and Patsy Densmore of Alexander City; one sister-in-law, Ginny Smith of Pell City; two nieces, Mary Elizabeth and Anna Leigh Smith of Pell City; two nephews, Jay Kelly of Norfolk, Va., and Robert Densmore of Gadsden; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marlin and Margie Densmore of Alexander City; two aunts, Mavis Peters of New Site and Helen Crowe of Alexander City; two uncles, Albert Underwood and Hoyt Underwood, both of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Holloway.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4223 Poplar Springs Drive, Meridian, MS 39305.

Funeral services for Raymond Wayne Thompson, 76, of Dadeville will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Dadeville. The Revs. Jerry Abbett and John Mann will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday Feb. 8, 2004, at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. He was born Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1927. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dadeville. He was retired from the Auburn Cooperative Extension Service.
He is survived by one daughter, LuAnne Barron and husband Mike of Birmingham; two granddaughters, Kelleigh Barron and Ashley Barron, both of Birmingham; two brothers, Ralph Thompson and wife Mona of Bay Minette and Lelon Thompson and wife Johnnie of Rainesville, and one sister, Jane Holt and husband Billy of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise W. Thompson; his parents, John Lester and Pearl Adelia Durham Thompson and one brother, Eldridge Thompson.

Graveside services for Ruby Maxwell King, 84, of Kellyton will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Kellyton Memory Gardens. The Revs. Mike Jackson, Patrick Evans and Joe Mallory will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. King died Feb. 9, 2004, at her residence. She was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Coosa County to James Thomas and Effie Azelea Tankersley Maxwell. She was a member of the Kellyton Baptist Church and worked as a secretary for M.H. Blair Construction Company.
She is survived by her sister, Sue M. Evans of Hoover; three step-children, Patsy King Brown and husband Kenneth, Elsie Jo Washburn and Jack Washburn; seven nieces, Idell Tapp, Joan Holton, Judy Dean, Jeanna McLaughlin, Nelda Hayes, Gail Bohannon and Teresa Grover; one nephew, Robert Evans and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rob Evans, Scott Suchocki, Scott McLaughlin, Jake Dean, John Dean, Jack Washburn and Todd Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dean, Jeff Dean, Harold Turner, Tommy Futral, Buddy Bohannon, Charlie Hayes, Jerry Sewell and Ronnie Fuller.

Dr. J.F. Fargason
1907-2004
Funeral services for Dr. J.F. Fargason, 96, of Tallassee will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Father Francis Lynch will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home.
Dr. Fargason died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004. He was born May 12, 1907, in Camp Hill. He grew up in Dadeville. He was in the same class and played on the same football team as Hot O'Brien, the beloved coach of Tallassee High School. Dr. Fargason graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical School in 1931. He began his medical practice in Tallassee in 1932 and practiced there until 1946. In 1944, Dr. Fargason gave what was the earliest, if not the first, shot of penicillin in the state of Alabama. He was always amazed at the discovery of a real healing medication, penicillin being the first of many. In 1946 Dr. Fargason moved to Port Sulphur, La., and Picayune, Miss. He retired back to Tallassee in 1962. Dr. Fargason was a member of several professional societies, including the Alabama and Louisiana Medical Societies, the historical clubs wherever he could find one and the Coon Creek Hunt Club.
He is survived by two sons, James F. Fargason Jr. and Crayton A. Fargason M.D.; seven grandchildren, four of which are medical doctors and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Clelia Fiori Fargason.

Funeral services for Frances Ola Wesson, 76, of Alexander City will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Heritage Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004.
Mrs. Wesson died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Chapman Healthcare. She was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Tallapoosa County to Eugene and Stella Ledbetter Simmon. She was retired from the Russell Corporation.
She is survived by her daughter Reba Kay Wesson, of Alexander City; her sons Charles Earl Wasson, of Alexander City, James Howell Simmons, of Reeltown, Frank Douglas Ingram, of Alexander City, Eddie Gene Roberts Wesson, of Alexander City; her sisters Clara Wesson of Dadeville, Nadine Hale of Tallassee; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by her husband Ted Wesson; her brother William Joe Simmons, her sisters Evelyn Hornsby, Estelle Hallman and Myrtle Floyd and her parents.

Mrs. Easterwood died March 29, 2004, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born June 15, 1923, in Tallapoosa County to William Wilbur "W.W." Johnson and Ieula Mann Johnson. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and working on lawn mowers. She also loved sports, especially football.
She is survived by one son, George E. "Ed" Easterwood and wife Brenda of Alexander City; one daughter, Marie Alexander and husband Billy of Kellyton; three grandchildren, Stacy Patterson and husband Sam of Jackson's Gap, Jan Tease and husband Delaney of Auburn and Travis Foster and wife Dawn of Daviston; six great-grandchildren, Ben Patterson, Michael Patterson, Delaine Tease, Kristen Tease, Mitch Foster and Ashley Foster; three sisters, Susie Patterson of Shady Grove, Margaret Servese of Green Bay, Wisc., and Lela Howard of Leeds and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cantrell died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at her residence. She was born June 26, 1934, in Tallapoosa County to Clifton "Bill" Mims and Vivian Prophitt Mims. She was a homemaker and a member of Open Acres Baptist Church in Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Lawrence "Bill" Cantrell of Greenville; one son, Rusty Cantrell and wife Judy of Montgomery; one daughter, Connie Bass and partner Laura Cahoon of Greenville; three grandchildren, Leslie McArthur and husband Clay of Greenville, Jason Bass and Kimberly Bullock and husband Kenny, all of Montgomery; three great-grandchildren, Casey Bass of Greenville, Justin Bullock and Seth Bullock, both of Montgomery; and cousins Billy and Liz Prophitt of Alexander City.

Mrs. Whitaker died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. She was born Thursday, July 27, 1905, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Sara Lee W. Davis and her husband Joe of Auburn; one son, Curtis Wayne Whitaker Jr. and his wife Mary Catherine of Tallassee; one sister, Ann Lyle of Auburn; 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wayne Whitaker Sr., and her daughter Betty Rose Whitaker Jones.

Funeral services for James Leon Patterson, 61, of Kellyton were at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2004, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. The Revs. Bobby Ned Duck and Mike Taylor officiated. Burial followed at Hillview Memorial Park with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force. Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004.
Mr. Patterson died Friday, June 4, 2004, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 9, 1943, in Tallapoosa County to Sam Patterson and Ruth Kelly Patterson. He was retired from the United States Air Force and Russell Corporation. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Buttston.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nona Stevens Patterson of Kellyton; son James Leon Patterson II of Texas; daughters Teresa Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas and Donna Gail Welch of Alexander City; brother Millard Gene Patterson of Jackson's Gap; sisters Louise Gray of Jackson's Gap, Odena Counts of Jackson's Gap, Mildred Knight of Lineville and Marie "Peggy" Yarbrough of Jackson's Gap; grandchildren, Megan Welch, Samantha Gutierrez, Jake Patterson, Noah Patterson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Eva Thornell and Myrtle Caldwell; and brother William L. Patterson.
