SUZANNE KENDRICK MURRAY
A celebration for the life of Suzanne Kendrick Murray, 68, will be held Aug. 31 at the Maddox property on Highway 9 South.
Mrs. Murray died in Denton, Texas, of complications from cancer of the lungs.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Stapleton; her step mother, Ruth Kendrick; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Wendy Murray; a daughter and son-in-law, Raynell and Jerry Rasnick; three grandchildren, Chasity Erbaugh and her husband Andy and Morgan and Macy Murray; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Sandra and Phillip Lantrip, Linda and Steve Ison, Donna and Ted Thomas and Pam Tapleton; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Donna Kendrick; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Gracie and Jacob Erbugh and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

MARILYN ELIZABETH WHEELER
Graveside services for Marilyn Elizabeth Wheeler, 77, of Rabbittown, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Chosea Springs Baptist Church cemetery. Revs. Clark Smart and Charles Hanson officiated.
Ms. Wheeler died Aug. 22 at Piedmont Health Care Center.
Survivors include a sister-in-law; Sara Wheeler of Piedmont; three nieces, Nancy Griffin, Debbie Dutkanych and Betty Stephens; two nephews, Andy Dutkanych and David Wheeler and a sister, Josephine Dutkanych.
Pallbearers were Jerry and Boyd Brown, Bobby Smith, Dan Truitt, John Wheeler and Leon Gault.
Miss Wheeler was born on Dec. 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Homer Deloach and Eunice Morgan Wheeler. Prior to her retirement, she was a schoolteacher at Ranburne High School. She was a member of the Chosea Springs Baptist Church.
GARY G. WOLFE
Services for Gary G. Wolfe, 71, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home. Revs. Michael Ingram and Rick Coffman officiated. Burial was in Nances Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Wolfe died Aug. 20, at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Imogene N. Wolfe of Piedmont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Scott Maddox and Patty and Rodney Carroll all of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Paige Carroll and Ethan Carroll; a sister, Imogene Rutledge of Glencoe and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were J.D. Doss, Stevie Goss, Charlie Wallace, Dan Lane, Sidney Cox, Glenn “Rhino” Buttram, Raymond Kirk, and Anthony Baker.
Mr. Wolfe was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was owner and operator of Wolfe Cement Contractors, was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outdoors. His mother Luna D. Wolfe, sister Peggy Carpenter and brothers, Travis Wolfe and Billy Wolfe preceded him in death.

Charles Cliffton Scott
1944-2003
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Cliffton Scott, 58, of Alexander City will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Revs. Ron Gonia and Jason Scott will officiate. Burial will follow at Alexander City Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003.
Mr. Scott died on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1944, in Lanett, to Robert M. Scott and Lois M. Reese Scott. He was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church, a little league coach and co-founder of Toys for Tots.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jordan Scott of Alexander City; two sons, John Cliffton Scott and Jordon Reese Scott, both of Alexander City; one daughter, Katheryn Elizabeth Scott of Jacksonville; two brothers, Jerry W. Scott and Robert D. Scott, both of AlexAnder City; and three sisters, Jeanette Simpson and Wynette Ray, both of Alexander City and Shirley Wall of Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. Scott and Lois Reese Scott and his daughter, Anna Scott.

Walter Joseph Sweikhart
1925-2003
Funeral services for Walter Joseph Sweikhart, 78, of Montgomery, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at Alabama Funeral Homes Chapel in Dadeville. Rev. John Mann will officiate. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Sweikhart was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Washington, D.C. to Walter Otto and Lillian Marie Sweikhart. During World War II he served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy until Dec. 23, 1945 and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 32 years of faithful and devoted federal service on Aug. 30, 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Helen Urbas Sweikhart of Montgomery; four sons, George W. Sweikhart and wife Tina of San Diego, Stephen L. Sweikhart and wife Linda of Alexandra, Va., Joseph W. Sweikhart of Montgomery and Karl E. Sweikhart and wife Lynn of Boston; one brother, Earl W. Sweikhart of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five granddaughters, Erica R. Sweikhart, Christina Sweikhart and Denise C. Sweikhart, all of San Diego, Ashley E. Sweikhart of Birmingham and Sabrina Sweikhart of Boston.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services for Lois Bertie Justiss Stephenson, 90, of Jackson's Gap will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Alexander City Cemetery. The Revs. Tim Harris and Wayne Cowhick will officiate. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003.
Mrs. Stephenson died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born July 15, 1912, in Tallapoosa County to Thomas and Lula Cleveland Justiss. She worked for Russell Corp. as a sewing machine operator and was a member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Eunice Dennis of Jackson's Gap; two daughters-in-law, Alice Stephenson of Jackson's Gap and Jan Stephenson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren, John David Stephenson and wife Gayle of Suwanee, Ga., Kelly Brown and husband Keith of Fayetteville, Ga., Cindy Womack and husband Tony of Kennesaw, Ga., Troy Stephenson of Birmingham, Krista Stephenson and Meagan Stephenson, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Nathaniel Stephenson and two sons, Stanley and Jimmy Stephenson.

Funeral services for Audney W. Milam, 83, of Alexander City will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Wayside Baptist Church. Rev. Lowell Ledbetter and the Rev. Jason Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Milam died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in Hackneyville. She was born on April 29, 1920, in Tallapoosa County to Joseph Johnson Woodruff and Eva Moore Woodruff. She worked as a spinner/packer for Russell Corp. for 46-and-a-half years and was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
She is survived by three brothers-in-law, Larry Milam and wife Norma of Hackneyville, Reggie Milam of Alexander City and Roy Milam and wife Mary of Munford; and special friends, Johnny and Mary Worthy, Melvin and Maxine Warren and Donald and Marie Fuller, all of Alexander City and David Dial of Equality.

Mrs. Taylor died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Extendicare Health and Rehab in Dothan. She was born July 18, 1914, in Tallapoosa County. She was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Ashford and retired from Russell Corp.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Watts and husband Maynard of Ashford; one son, Johnny Taylor and wife Laurie of Plano, Texas; one sister, Annie Bell Boeling of Sylacauga; five grandchildren, Steven Watts of Atlanta, Brian Watts and wife Jan of Cottonwood, Ashley Taylor, Jonathan Taylor and Mark Taylor, all of Plano, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Troy and Hayley Watts of Cottonwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Coley Blythe and Ada Sanders Blythe; her husband, Johnny H. Taylor; one son, Robert "Bobby" Taylor; three brothers, Ralph Blythe of Albuquerque, N.M., Herbert Blythe of Daviston and Jessie Blythe of New Site; four sisters, Bertha Prather of Alexander City, Minnie Lee Laney of Daviston, Rilla Boone of Fairfax and Mae Oliver of Alexander City.

Mr. Pike died July 24, 2003, at UAB Hospital. He was born April 7, 1980, in Tallapoosa County to James and Brenda Pike. He was employed in construction - housing.
He is survived by his father, James Pike; his mother, Brenda Pike; one son, Dylan Pike of Alexander City; two stepsons, Andrew McClure and Dustin Brown; one brother, Kenneth Pike of Alexander City; two sisters, Crissie Pike of Alexander City and Hope Rainwater of Dadeville; his grandparents, Frank and Robbie Griffin of Alexander City, Lorene Skinner of Dadeville and Jerry Cross of Kingsman, Ga.

Mr. Langford died last week. He was born March 21, 1956, in Montgomery but resided in Birmingham after his family relocated. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying computer science. He was a Lotus Notes administrator at Mercedes-Benz in Vance.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Scroggins Langford, and his "best friend" Abby; his mother, Robbie Langford of Birmingham; his father Jan Langford and wife Kathy of Trussville; one sister, Libby Langford of Harpersville; three brothers, Jon Langford and wife Tracey and their children, Marty, Abby, Stephen and Hannah of Pinson; and David Langford and wife Dana and their children, David, Faith, John and Jordan; and Matt Langford of Auburn.
