TALLADEGA — Funeral services for Barbara Elaine Cunningham, 49, will be Saturday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Rushing Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Embry Cemetery, Talladega. Ms. Cunningham will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service. Ms. Cunningham died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at University of Alabama Hospital. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Faulkner University, a senior customer service representative at Alabama Power Company, and a member of Rushing Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Women of Faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher; her parents, Donnell (Elizabeth) Cunningham; four sisters, Bertha, Carolyn, Shelia and Elsie. Survivors are a daughter, Bethany D. Cunningham of Talladega; brothers, Nathaniel Cunningham of Germany and Herman (Jackie) Cunningham of Danville, IL; sisters, Mazie Dixon of Los Angeles, Calif., Geraldine (Eddie) Garrett of Alpine, Janice Swain of Montgomery, Betty (Wesley) Simmons and Judith Cunningham all of Talladega. BIRMINGHAM — Betty Joyce Cain Mills, 78, died July 18, 2008. Mrs. Mills, a native of Madison, Ala. had lived in Birmingham since 1951. A daughter of the late John Slaughter Cain and Lucille Wade Cain, she was the widow of Rabun Sanders Mills.
Survivors include her son John Rabun Mills and his wife Judy Boyd Mills of Mt. Dora, Fla., her daughter Pamela Susan Mills, her granddaughters Molly Summers Terrell and Laura Catherine Mills, and her sister Shirley Cain Wilson. Mrs. Mills, a member of the Canterbury United Methodist Church, attended the University of Alabama. She was a member of First Families of Alabama, First Families of Tennessee Valley, Daughters of the American The Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Much pleasure was brought to her by her friendships in the Alpha Chi Omega Lunch Group, Stoney Ridge Garden Club and several bridge groups. MOBILE — Betty Curtis Stacey was born Sept. 2, 1938 to Rudolph Curtis and Nancy Johns. She was born in Sylacauga and a longtime resident of Mobile. She departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2008 at a local hospital. She provided loving care to her residents at her assisted living home, Stacey's Manor, for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Charles W. Stacey; by her father, Rudolph Curtis; and her aunt, Annie Vickers. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Johns Brooks of Metter, Ga.; and one son, Charles W.
