PELL CITY — Sarah Ragland, 65, of 1504 16th Ave. S., died June 17 at her residence.

ANNISTON — Helen Shack, 82, died June 15 at her residence.

WESLEY ALLEN SMITH
PELL CITY — Graveside service for Wesley Allen Smith, 67, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Clair Memorial Gardens with Brother James Tyus officiating.
Mr. Smith died June 16 at his residence. He retired as a master sergeant with 34 years of service in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite, Metro West (927) Masonic Lodge and Noble of the Zamora Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Zane Hogue Smith of Pell City; four daughters, Debra Johnson and husband Jerry of Alpharetta, Ga., Sandra Weeks of Moody, Kimberly Matherson and husband Kenny of Alabaster and Jackie Childers of Sumiton; three sisters, Joy Johnson and husband Gene of Milton, Fla., Martha Sue Blunk of Jasper and Linda Farley of Tuscaloosa; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Dixie Shrine Club will serve as pallbearers.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

SELMA — Graveside service for Floyd Weathers, 79, was Monday in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery
with the Rev. Freddie Edwards officiating.
Mr. Weathers died June 12 at Lighthouse Convalescent Home in Selma. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Jesse Weathers of San Antonio, Texas; Eddie Weathers of Columbus, Ga., and Gary Weathers of Mississippi; one daughter, Katherine Weathers of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Dorris L. Ogle of Sylacauga and Evelyn E. Riley of Columbus, Ga.; and several grandchildren.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed the service.

SYLACAUGA — Grover C. Whetstone Sr., 76, died June 16.

WILLIAM HOOVER JEMISON JR.
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for William Hoover Jemison Jr., 43, of 1208 Hobson Ave., will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Stockdale with the Rev. Edward Bolton officiating. Burial will be in Lane Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Jemison died June 18 in Springville. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was a former student at Munford High School where he played football. He was a former employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Robinson Foundry, NHB, O'Neal Pulpwood Company, Fincher's Catfish Kitchen and Fincher's Delite. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Lynch Jemison and William Hoover Jemison Sr.; two brothers; one sister; and a son, William Hoover Jemison III.
He is survived by one daughter, Gabriella Hill of Anniston; one son, William Christopher McKenzie of Talladega; one brother, Clarence Jemison of Childersburg; six sisters, Margaret Jackson of Detroit, Mich., Alberta Johns of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary Alice Jemison, Barbara Jackson, Karen Jemison and Mary Heard of Talladega; and three grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.
GENE FLETCHER McCLUNEY SR.
LINCOLN — Funeral service for Gene Fletcher McCluney Sr., 61, of 965 Lost Road, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Little Jerusalem A.F.M. Church of God with Bishop James Truss officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Church Cemetery.
Mr. McCluney died June 18 at Brookwood Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Negretta McCluney of Lincoln; three daughters, Barbara McCall and Suzette White of Birmingham and Vernadette Williams of New York; six sons, Joel McCluney of Mobile, Donnell Williams of New York, Gene F. McCluney Jr., Robert McCluney, Dimitric McCluney and Tarrance McCluney of Lincoln; one stepson, Eric Woodard of Lincoln; three sisters, Delia McCluney, Patricia Glover and Barbara Nell Walton of Lincoln; one brother, Mack McCluney of Lincoln; 17 grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.
COSMO VIRGINIA GURLEY
TALLADEGA — Graveside service for Cosmo Virginia Gurley, 82, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery
with the Rev. Russell Rodriguez and the Rev. Gary Wyatt officiating.
Ms. Gurley died June 20 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, was a former nursing assistant at Citizens Hospital and Talladega Nursing Home and was a former houseparent at Alabama School for the Blind.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Gurley, Bobby Dale Gurley and Bruce Gurley of Talladega; honorary son, Darrell Dison of Talladega; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Campbell, Joey Gurley, Randy Gurley, Stanley Cosby, Brett Shaddix and Darrell Dison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dan Nabors, David Stanford and Ida Gulsby.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

WILLIAM HENRY RICHARDS
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for William Henry Richards, 83, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Penny Drummonds and the Rev. Ronald Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Richards died June 21 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronnie Kissic. He was a native of Buchanan, Ga., and had been a resident of Talladega County for the past 62 years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was retired from Crown Textile. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Richards of Talladega; one daughter, Grace Kissic of Talladega; one son, Charles and his wife Margaret Richards of Hickory, N.C.; one sister, Dorothy and her husband Sam Watson of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepbrother, Troy and his wife Barbara Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; one granddaughter, Krissie Kissic Barnett of Talladega and her daughter, Angela Langley Elkins and husband Joey, as well as their children, Jakob and Jordan, all of Ranburne; four grandsons, Greg and his wife Beth Richards and their children, Matthew and Caitlin, all of Talladega, Richard and his wife Carolyn Kissic and their child, Richie, all of Talladega, Christopher Richards and his children, Timothy and Taylor, all of Hickory, N.C., and Curtis Kissic of Talladega; and great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Jessica Kissic.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 until 9 p.m.
