TARRICE SECBORN BRAZIER DMD
WETUMPKA Dr. Tarrice Secborn Brazier, D.M.D., 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Wetumpka Wednesday, May 7, 2008, following a courageous battle with leukemia. A memorial service will be at Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with visitation with the family beginning at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his only child, Zebbie and her husband, Richard Nix of Evergreen, Ala.; and two beloved grandchildren, Kelsey and Davis. Born July 30, 1938, in Pell City to the late Buster and Florene Brazier, Tarrice was an only child and was raised and attended school there and graduated from Pell City High School in 1956. He was a strong student and was motivated to further his education. He was the first in his family to attend college. Accepted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, he was initiated into the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity on Sept. 21, 1957 and was a true brother for life. There was never a bigger fan of Alabama football, he attended every game possible, always taking family members and sharing the experiences with his many fan friends. Many seasons included Tarrice in the stadium for every home game and many away games, cheering on the Tide through good years and not so good years. He was also an avid white-water rafting enthusiast and deep sea fisherman, once winning the Destin Rodeo with the largest white marlin. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1961, Tarrice entered dental school and earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama in 1965. Thereafter, he began a long and successful dental practice, first in Georgiana, then in Montgomery, helping many patients over the years. He was a member in good standing of the Alabama Dental Association all of his professional life, and was elected to lifetime membership in 2003. He was also a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Delta, a national dental fraternity. Dr. Brazier was a member of Frazer United Methodist Church, serving faithfully on the Board of Stewards and on mission trips to Central and South America. Alabama Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Estes passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was Baptist by faith and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Lee Stokes Estes and Henry Beaman Estes. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ruth M. Estes of Fayetteville; daughter, Sherri Gardo of Kings Mountain, NC; brother, Robert Estes of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Chastity Gann of Greenville, SC, and Jody Gann of Birmingham; great-grandson, C.J. ELLAVILLE, Ga. Mrs. Elsie Thrasher, age 83, died early Thursday morning, May 8, 2008. A native of Etowah County, Ala., Mrs. Thrasher was born Feb. 17, 1925, daughter of the late Marshall Sumter Thrasher and Gertrude Tomlin Thrasher. She was a member of the Talladega Rescue Squad in Talladega and past president of the Talladega Creek Baptist Church WMU. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Americus, Ga. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. EST, Saturday, May 10, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Damon Fountain, the Rev. William Hall and John Brodess officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. CST in Talladega at Oak Hill Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Willadean and Joseph Allen of Ellaville, Ga., and Donia and Ronnie McCrary of Americus, Ga.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Bobby and Janice Thrasher, Roger and Linda Thrasher all of Talladega, Samuel Thrasher of Ashland and Thomas and Laura Thrasher of Warner Robins, Ga.; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Thrasher of Ellaville, Ga.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard W. Thrasher on Sept. 26, 1997. TUSCALOOSA - Michael Jeffery Billingsley, 48, of Tuscaloosa died May 7, 2008, at home. Private services will be held with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy B. Billingsley; his sister, Dawn B. Dickerson; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Billingsley, Mr. Hester Lewis and Mrs. Bessie Mae Lewis Jarrett.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda B. Acner of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and his mother and stepfather, Harry and Charlotte (Lewis) Mooradian of Jenson Beach, Fla. Jeff also leaves a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.
Jeff was born in Sylacauga. He graduated from Gurley High School and attended Jacksonville University. He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He resided in Selma for 15 years before moving to Tuscaloosa. He was an employee of the VA Medical Center.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and co-workers of the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mr. Blocker died May 10, 2008, at Coosa Valley Nursing Home.
Mr. Blocker was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Blocker.
He is survived by two sons, Sammy Blocker of Sylacauga and Carey Blocker of Gadsden; two stepdaughters, Pat McCain of Chattanooga and Brenda Abrams of Sylacauga; and a slew of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

EVA BELLE CAFFEE
TALLADEGA - Eva Belle Caffee, 85, passed away Friday, May 9, at Talladega Healthcare Center. Memorial service will be announced.
Evie was born in Flint, Mich., and has lived in Talladega since 1952. She worked as a nursing assistant at Citizens Hospital from 1959-1986, before retiring with 27 years of service. She did private duty nursing for several special people who needed Evies extra care and kindness. Miss Caffee was nominated and recognized for being an Outstanding Talladegan in the area of serving others in the nursing field in 2000.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Talladega, and a faithful member of the Martha Reese Sunday School Class until she became unable to attend.
Miss Caffee was preceded in death by her parents, William (Willie) Columbus Caffee and Huldah Drake Caffee Cook, Flint, Mich.; sisters, Dorothy Marsh and Betty June Hall; a brother, John Irving Caffee; and special friend, Angi Grissett of Talladega.
Survivors include a sister, Verna Marie Pulver of Lansing, Mich.; a brother, Howard (Nancy) Dean Caffee of Eagle, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Among her many Talladega friends who were family to Evie are: Martha Reeses Sunday School Class, Lance and Liz Grissett, Jack and Lucy Hethcox, Ginny Sims, Sallie Faircloth and daughter Mary, Ola Churchill, Neal and Linda Rodgers, Kristin Keith, John Jernigan, Judy Williams, Alice Faye Shiver, her doctors and nursing staff at Talladega Healthcare Center.

He is survived by two sons, Terry G. Bright and Virgle R. Bright; sister, Martha Gafford; three grandchildren, Michael Bright, Shane Bright and Emily Burns; and several nieces and nephews.
