CEDAR BLUFF — A Memorial service for Doris Faye Alexander will be at later in Maryland and cremains will be buried in Waynesburg Pa. Perry Funeral Home in charge.

BRADSHAW

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Ida Mae Keebler Bradshaw, 73, will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at Kilgroe Chapel with the Rev. D. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens and Mausoleum in Anniston. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 at Kilgroe Funeral Home. Mrs. Bradshaw died Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Keebler Burke; three aunts, Mary McCullough Bagwell, Ellen Keller, Ruth Atchley; nieces, Debra Burke Carroll and Kathryn Burke; and great-nephew, Joshua Craig Stevens. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dempsey Bradshaw. Kilgroe Funeral Home-Pell City will direct the services.

DRYDEN

HEFLIN — Ola Mae Phillips Dryden, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dryden will be at 11 a.m. today, July 4, 2008 at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. J. L. Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.

Survivors include a son, Edward and wife, "Squeaky" Phillips, of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Mayfield, of Plainview and Dorothy Threat, of Oak Level; brothers, Charles Gilmer and Bob Gilmer, both of Oak Level; granddaughter, Karon (Bill) Goodman, of Anniston; three great-grandsons, Matt Jones, of Oxford, David (Renee) Goodman, of Anniston and Sean Goodman, of Jacksonville; several step grandchildren. Mrs. Dryden was a native and resident of Cleburne County for most of her life. She was a retired nurse from Bremen Hospital and was a Baptist by faith. WELLINGTON — Memorial service for Kenneth Melvin Haga, 59, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Haga passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Wellington. Mr. Haga is survived by his daughter, Shelley Cofield, of Anniston, Corey Haga, of Florida and Zacharial Haga, of Tuscaloosa; two grandchildren, Olivia Elkins and Tori Haga; sister, Patsy Decker, of Summerset, Ky.; brother, James Haga, of Kennesaw, Ga.; close friend, Lindy Adams, of Wellington and Tubby Bass. ASHLAND — Funeral services for Mr. Delmer (Speedy) Hanners, 88, will be at Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Clay County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Hanners passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Clay County Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Wellborn Cabinet Company. He enjoyed farming, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a Baptist by faith. Mr. Hanners was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Hanners; one sister; three brothers; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters, Frances Emory, of Wetumpka, Gail Bowen (Terry), of Ashland and Ann Seymour (Richard), of Ashland; two sons, Delmer Hanners Jr., (Terry), of Morrisons Cross Roads, and Randy Hanners (Pat), of Ashland; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Hanners will be Terry Jones, Johnny Ray Smith, Jeremy Bowen, Lance Hanners, Micheal Bowen, Drew Cadle, David Flournoy, and Tommy Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Clay County Nursing Home and nephews. Clay County Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

MACKEY

AUBURN — Funeral service for Mrs. Lizzie Mae Watts Mackey, 90, formerly of Clay County, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at the County Line Baptist Church. the Rev. Zenus Windsor, The Rev. Braden Morrison, and Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church Cemetery. She will lie instate at the Church for one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 - 7 at Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City. Mrs. Mackey passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Clay County on January 12, 1918 to Draper Watts and Minnie Price Watts. She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church and worked at Lineville Nursing Home as a Nursing Assistant. She also worked as a private duty nurse for the sick and elderly in her community. She is survived by her sons, Terry Mackey of Auburn and Roy Mackey of Lincoln; two sisters, Doris Hurst and Maude Hurst, both of Lineville; and two brothers, Floyd Watts and Bobby Joe Parker, both of Lineville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Mackey, and one son, Jerry Mackey. Online condolences may be sent to the family at

Mrs. Coolbroth died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in Talladega. She was a native of Millerville; resident of Talladega County most of her life; member of Bethel United Methodist Church; retired beautician and sitter. She is survived by her cousins. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

TALLADEGA — Mr. Odell Curry, 71, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce arrangements.

SYLACAUGA — Graveside Service for Mr. James Reece Hughes, age 93, will be Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Bro. B.E. (Sonny) Riggins of Mignon Church of Christ, Bro. Miles Crouch of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ officiating. Mr. Hughes died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Coosa Valley Nursing Home. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Mignon Church of Christ and a minister for many, many years. He served as an Elder along with Vick Blankenship, Julius Gray and Waymon Masters. He loved the Lord and his family. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Inez Hyde Hughes; a great grandchild, Brandon Hughes; parents, Lewis Elsby Hughes and Addie Vickers Hughes; three brothers and four sisters. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Southern Hospice. WILLIAM "BILL" KREMKAU

ALPINE — Memorial services for William "Bill" Kremkau, 64, will be Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m. at St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church. Mr. Kremkau died Monday, March 10, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Vi Kremkau; two sons, Jon Kremkau and Mike Kremkau; mother, Helen Kremkau; brother, Dick Kremkau; five grandchildren, Landon, Tyler, Mitchell, Grayson and Hunter. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services.

LINDA BOWDEN LAWSON

McCALLA — Memorial services for Linda Bowden Lawson, age 58, formerly of Talladega, will be Thursday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Carter officiating. Mrs. Lawson passed away March 8, 2008 at UAB Medical Center West in Bessemer. Survivors are two sons, Christopher Lee Gray (Kathy) of Birmingham and Jeremy Watson Gray (Tressa) of Birmingham; one daughter, Leigh Anne Ramey (Robert) of Pinson; two sisters, Joyce Giddens and Nancy Lipham both of Talladega; four grandchildren, Justin, Spencer, Braden and Bryce. Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight G. Lawson; a brother, Rouse "Bucky" Bowden Jr.; and her parents, Rouse Bowden Sr. and Agnes Watson Bowden. Mrs. Lawson was a native of Talladega County and had been a resident of McCalla for the past several years. She was retired from the Bessemer City School System. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.

BIRMINGHAM — Ms. The Revonda Daniela Mann, formerly of Chicago, IL, Memorial will be Wednesday, March 12, at 6 p.m. at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at A.A. Rayner & Sons Funeral Home, Chicago. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago. Ms. Mann died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Birmingham from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

MARY FRANCES PRUITT

LINCOLN — Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Frances Pruitt, age 83, will be Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Anniston with the Rev. Winfred Logan officiating. Mrs. Pruitt passed away March 11, 2008 at Talladega Health Care Center. Survivors are one son, Billy Joe Higginbotham of Hosford, FL; one daughter, Bonnie F. Parcus of Lincoln; one granddaughter and two grandsons. Mrs. Pruitt was a native of Clay County and had been a resident of Lincoln for the past 13 years. She was retired from Anniston Sportsware Company and was of the Baptist faith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. The family would like to give a special THANK YOU to Talladega Health Care and Wiregrass Hospice. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.

CHILDERSBURG — Frank Scott, 80, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Golden Living Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Woods Community Funeral Home.

JEWELL RISER SPRAGGINS

ALPINE — Graveside Rites for Mr. Jewell Riser Spraggins, 90, will be Wednesday, March 12, at 3 p.m. at Alpine Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Larry Morris officiating. Mr. Spraggins died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in Talladega. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County; Methodist by faith; Veteran of WWII; and retired farmer. He is survived by a sister, Doris Strickland of Alpine; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday at Strickland Farm, 8795 Plant Road, Alpine, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8920 Plant Road, Alpine, Ala. 35014.

Pallbearers are Rex Killough, William Parks, Lew Strickland, Dustin Studdard, Gary Hardee, Joey Peters, Jack Morris, Allen Vincent, Joe Tom Armbrester, Harry Joe Powell. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

RUBY MAE TURNER

TALLADEGA — Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Mae Turner of Talladega will be at Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 12 noon at the Sims Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bob McClain, eulogist, and the Rev. Joseph S. Rowser Jr., the Rev. Marvin James and the Rev. Dante' Whittaker officiating. Interment will be at the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Turner passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Survivors are her husband, Dr. Samuel Turner of Talladega; two daughters, Jackie (Robert) McClain of Oxford, Cheryl Denise (Phillip) Stallworth of Birmingham; son, Gilbert Turner of Talladega; two sisters, Bondere (Cleveland) Cunningham of Talladega, Yvonne (John) Swain of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Wilbert French of Detroit, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Nikki Turner, Duane (Reghan) McClain, Tara Turner, Cordelle Miller, Charles McClain, Shaquille Turner, Nicole Stallworth; great grandson, Deandre Robinson; two aunts, Inez Forbes of Anniston and Thelma (Leon) Truss of Phoenix, AR; uncle, John (Betty) French of St. Paul, Minnesota; four sisters-in-law, Lillie Martin of Lincoln, Marjorie (Lawrence) McAdoy of Bessemer, Dorothy Davis of Montgomery, Christine (Aubrey) Scott of Talladega; two brothers-in-law, Jottie Turner of Columbus, Ga., William (Elizabeth) Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Turner was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church. "Mu-dear", as affectionately called by her children enjoyed life. She cherished times spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. "Miss Ruby" as called by children and adults in the community enjoyed gardening, hanging out with friends at the BN Mabra Center and volunteering as a Pink Lady at Baptist Medical Center. "Mu-dear" will be remembered as a lifegiver.
