G.A. ALLEN
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for G.A. Allen, 72, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Wayne Eden, the Rev. Ron Hopkins and the Rev. Joe Lynn Adams officiating. Burial will be in Sterrett Church of God Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died May 30. He was born in Sterrett, lived most of his life in Talladega and retired as an Asbestos worker with Asbestos Local No. 78 in Birmingham with 35 years of service. He attended First Baptist Church of Homewood Acres in Eastaboga and Stemley Baptist Church of Talladega. He and his wife had been happily married for 51 years.
He is survived by his wife, Aileen Allen; two sons, Bobby Jones and Gerald Allen of Talladega; three daughters, Faye Robinson of Leesburg, Fla., Pat Watson of Ohatchee and Sandra Brantley of Lincoln; one sister, Nell Howard of Vincent; one brother, Garlin Allen of Vincent; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
JAMES EARL GREEN
SYCAMORE — Funeral service for James Earl Green, 52, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Community Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Stan Gaddis officiating. Burial will be in Harper Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Green died May 27.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pearl Green of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Cassandra Coleman of Talladega and Sheila Jessemy of New Orleans, La.; one son, Jamie Green of Detroit, Mich.; his mother, Elizabeth Cook of Sycamore; eight sisters, Lois Banks, Minnie Green, Earlene Chatman, Diane Gaddis, Olivia Cook, Lola Booker, Ethelene Ashley, Levola Cook of Sycamore; two brothers, Willie Cook of Sycamore and James Calvin Cook of Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
Community Funeral Home will direct the service.
C.E. ROZELLE
LINCOLN — Graveside service for C.E. (Ed) Rozelle, 85, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lincoln City Cemetery
with the Rev. Jim Napp and the Rev. Ava H. Rozelle officiating.
Mr. Rozelle died May 30 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, he was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer and building contractor. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Air Corps. His passion for reading led him to be a lifelong explorer of religion, culture, Shakespeare and classical music. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark D. Rozelle; a brother, Harold L. Rozelle; and his parents, Eddie and Mary W. Rozelle.
He is survived by his wife, Montine D. Rozelle of Lincoln; daughter, Susan R. Bezemer of Brantford Ontario, Canada; son, Hal P. Rozelle of Lincoln; two sisters, Mary Ann Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rebecca R. Burt of Anniston; brother, W. Clarence Rozelle of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Edward Tyler and Anna Trawick of Brantford Ontario, Canada, Rebecca Rozelle of Carbondale, Ill., and Jessica and Ryan Rozelle of Lincoln; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Elizabeth Trawick and Bryce Tyler of Brantford Ontario, Canada.
Pallbearers will be Edward Trammell, Ryan Rozelle, Jessica Rozelle, Rebecca Rozelle, Hal Rozelle, Edward Tyler and Cor Bezemer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roswitha Suter, James Smith, Robert Pettis, Dick Pettis, Hank Little, Gerald Smith and Charles Pettis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m.

MATTIE LAVATOR CARDEN MITCHELL MAGOUYRK
MUNFORD — Funeral service for Mattie Lavator Carden Mitchell (Aunt Sallie) Magouyrk, 96, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dale Hooper and Bobby Wayne Langley officiating. Burial will be in Plum Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Magouyrk died May 30 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was a native of Calhoun County, lived in Talladega County most of her life and was a member of Plum Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mitchell and two sons, Billy and Carl Mitchell.
She is survived by six daughters, Louise Mitchell of Talladega, Lois Summers Phillips of Talladega, Sara Langley of Talladega, Jimmie Thomas of Lincoln, Margret Bowman of Talladega and Anita Crim of Munford; two sons, William Mitchell of Talladega and Fredrick (Buster) Mitchell of Munford; 52 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 until 9 p.m.

WALTER TURNER PORTER
WEOGUFKA — Funeral service for Walter Turner Porter, 90, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Weogufka United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Mann, the Rev. Robert Lee and the Rev. Danny Bynum officiating. Burial will be in Weogufka United Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Porter died May 29 at Coosa Valley BMC. He was a teacher for 36 years, graduated from Auburn University in 1941 and was married for 60 years to Vivian Bazemore Porter. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, a member of the Cattlemen's Association and taught school in Weogufka for 61 years. He was Man of the Year for the Cattlemen's Association, was a member of the Auburn Alumni Association and a member of Alabama Agriculture Teacher Association.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Bazemore Porter of Weogufka; one son, Turner Porter of Eclectic; one brother, Marshall Porter of Lexington; three sisters, Emma Pickens of Danville, Dona Adams of Loretto, Tenn., and Nancy Dunnam of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Stokley Bazemore, John Frank Thompson, Craig Miller, Wayne Mille, Judd Adams, Charles Bazemore, Sonny Braden, Melvin Palmer and Troy Dunnam.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Weaver, Ray Payton, O.J. Mooney and all former agriculture students.
The body may be viewed at the church Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Weogufka United Methodist Church.

TERA BLACKSTON SAMS
MOLENA, Ga. — Funeral service for Tera Blackston Sams, 90, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J.B. Teal and the Rev. Ben Guined officiating. Entombment will be June 2 in Upson Memorial Mausoleum in Thomaston, Ga.
Mrs. Sams died May 31. She was born in Taswell/Marion County in 1911. She lived in Taylor County for many years and spent the past 35 years in Pike County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Sams in 1975.
She is survived by four daughters, Willa Mae Brooks of Molena, Ga., Mary and husband Hubert Wilson of Molena, Ga., Joyce Preast of Williamson, Ga., and Shirley and husband Jimmy Coleman of Griffin, Ga.; three sons, Eugene (Dick) Sams of Griffin, Ga., Clarence and wife Annette Sams of Molena, Ga.; and Pat and wife June Sams of Thomaston, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston, Ga., will direct the service.

ALEXANDER CITY — Artie Tucker died May 31 at Russell Medical Center.

JOYCE McDANIEL WRIGHT
PELL CITY — Memorial service for Joyce McDaniel Wright, 60, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City.
Mrs. Wright died May 29. She was a long time resident of Talladega and was a real estate agent for Realty South in Pell City for several years.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Reeves of Talladega; one stepson, Lyon Wright of Talladega; two brothers, Gordon McDaniel of Arkansas and Kenny McDaniel of Tampa, Fla., and four grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
