SYLACAUGA — Edward McGregor Moore, 66, died Monday, March 13, at Cook Springs Nursing Home. A private family memorial service will be held. He was a graduate from Sylacauga High School, University of Alabama and Auburn University, and College of Veterinary Medicine. He was an Eagle Scout, Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Japan, Germany, and Vietnam where he was awarded a Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Alabama Treasure Forests Owners Association. He was a native of Sylacauga. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Moore of Sylacauga; son, Philip M. Moore and wife Christine of Sylacauga; daughter, Katherine M. Ingram and husband Dawson of Sandy Springs, GA; sister, Penelope Moore of Sylacauga; and two grandchildren, Benton Moore and Mary Elizabeth Moore of Sylacauga.

Cosby Phillips, age 90, will be Thursday March 16, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland with the Revs. Jim Arnall and John Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Millerville Community Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips passed away Monday March 13, 2006 at the Clay County Hospital. She was a native of Talladega but had lived most of her life in Clay County, was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Sims of Killean, TX; son, Julius Phillips (Edna) of Talladega; sister, Jackie Baird of Goodwater; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Floyd Phillips; two sons, Harold L. Phillips and Kenneth L. Phillips; and a daughter, Helen Quarles.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Cotney, Wendell Wolfe, Ray Brewer, Randy Anderson, Jerry Chandler, Roy Carr, Phil Quarles Honorary pallbearers will be: Lincoln Carr and Wendell Bachelor. in Jacksonville, Alabama. Mr. Waites passed away Monday, March 13, at Talladega Healthcare Center in Talladega. Survivors are his wife, Martha Waites of Talladega; two daughters, Michelle Surrett and Jennifer Waites both of Oxford; three stepdaughters, Shelia Franklin of Talladega, Shelia Henson of Guntersville, and Cynthia Holt of Alexandria; one son, Hank Waites of Weaver; two sisters, Elizabeth Henderson of Anniston and Irene Birchfield of Munford; one brother, Fred Waites of Anniston; 12 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
