OXFORD — Funeral services for Mae L. Carter, 95, will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery. Mrs. Carter died Monday, Dec. 19, at Beverly Health Care in Oxford. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Bunk" Carter; and daughter, Wilma Ingram.
She is survived by daughters, Flora M. Higgins of Hollins, Jerry Holcomb and husband Bill of Anniston, and Ruby Smith of Fayetteville; son, Raymond Carter and wife Shelia of Harpersville; sister, Juliet Milam of Harpersville; brother, Douglas Looney of Mobile; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the services.

KELLYTON — Funeral services for Clifford Dean "Monk" Hayes, 82, will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City with the Rev. Steve Dyess and the Rev. Wayne Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kellyton Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hayes passed away Monday, Dec. 19, at Russell Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 20, 1923, in Coosa County to Madison Foster Hayes and Mable Kyle Hayes. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII; a truck driver all his life and retired from Kimberly Clark. He enjoyed fixing vehicles up. He was known as the "rolling Western Auto".
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jean S. Hayes of Kellyton; daughters, Deborah Fuller and husband Greg of Alexander City, Ronda Porch and husband Mack of Jackson's Gap, and Donna W. Baker and husband Wade of Jackson's Gap; son, Wallace Hayes and wife Doris of Alexander City; brothers, M.M. Hayes and wife Johnnie of Kellyton and Charlie Hayes and wife Nelda of Kellyton; sisters-in-law, Audy Hayes of Kellyton and Gladys Hagan of Kellyton; brother-in-law, Bobby Sorrell and wife Pat of Tyrone, GA; grandchildren, Shane Patterson, Selina Patterson, Andy Patterson, Joey Fuller and wife Kathryn, Heather Forbus and husband Jeremy and Woody Trimble III; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

in Pell City. Mrs. Jackson died Thursday, Dec. 15, at her residence. She was a life long resident of Pell City.
She is survived by her children, Alice (Joseph) Griffin of Riverside, Kathryn Coleman of Riverside, Nathaniel (Yetta) Jackson of Haywood, CA, Annie (Rendon) Marbury of Birmingham, Christine Ellison of Atlanta, GA, Mary (William) Murray of Riverside, Walter (Rita) Jackson of Birmingham, and Ronald (Myrna) Jackson of San Lorenzo, CA; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The body will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Rest In Peace Funeral Home will direct the services.

Anniston — Funeral services for Mr. William Thomas "Bill" Kilgore, age 68, will be Thursday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at Golden Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Roland Brown and the Rev. C. C. McCain officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. Mr. Kilgore died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Kilgore, a well-known and respected businessman throughout Calhoun County, was a 1955 graduate of Anniston High School and graduated from Auburn University in 1959. He was owner and president of W. T. Kilgore Construction Co. Inc. for forty years and was a charter member, past president, and lifetime board member of the Calhoun County Homebuilders Association. Mr. Kilgore also served on the Anniston Electrical Board and was a member and deacon of the Golden Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Gordon Kilgore and his mother, Georgia Ellen Jones Kilgore.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Annis Reynolds Kilgore; a daughter, Cindy Kilgore Graham and her husband Corky Graham of Lincoln; a son, Michael Thomas Kilgore and his wife Teresa Kilgore of Oxford; three grandchildren, William Hunter Graham, Taylor Alexandra Kilgore, and Anna Elyse Graham; a brother-in-law, John Reynolds and his wife Faye Reynolds of Saks; a nephew, Chris Reynolds of Gadsden; a niece, Jennifer Heston of Dearmanville, and three great nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be R. C. Bryant, Aaron Taylor, Shorty Griffin, Chris Reynolds, Phil Webb, and Scotty Duke. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Fisherman Sunday School Class. Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in charge of service.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Miller of Sylacauga; sons, Marvin Miller of Sylacauga and Cedric Miller of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Sallie Gilyard of Tacoma, WA; sister, Robbie Huntley of Alexander City; brothers, Robert C.
