CEASAR STAMPS JR.

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral services for Ceasar Stamps Jr., 62, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m at Mount Zion CME Church in Alpine. Burial will be held in Mount Zion CME Cemetery, with the Rev. Shaw officiating.

Mr. Stamps died Dec. 15 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Stamps of Sylacauga; his mother, Lula Mae Stamps of Childersburg; two daughters, Pamela Stamps and Chemese Threatt, both of Sylacauga; four sons, Jerome Sheperd of Alpine, Melvin Stamps, Alvin Stamps and Frederick Stamps, all of Sylacauga; two sisters, Mae Helen McGee and Alice Faye Stamps, both of Childersburg; two brothers, John Stamps of Childersburg and Robert Stamps of Memphis, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday from noon until 9 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.

Flowerbearers will be family and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandchildren.

Community Funeral Home will direct the services.

OLA BEA HONEYCUTT BLAIR

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Ola Bea Honeycutt Blair, 69, will be Monday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Coley officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Blair died Dec. 11. A native of Coosa County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Blair; her parents, C.M. and Bessie Honeycutt; her brothers, William and Jimmy Honeycutt; her sisters, Annie Bell Morris, Charolotte Phillips, Laureen Honeycutt; and her great-granddaughter, Cortney Morris.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Morris of Sylacauga; two brothers, James Honeycutt of Sylacauga and A.J. Honeycutt of Weogufka; two sisters, Lula Mae Koberson of Columbiana and Parelee Thomas of Sylacauga; a grandson, Brian Morris; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Morris.

The family will receive flowers or suggest contributions be made to a favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Honeycutt, Wayne Honeycutt, Rickey Honeycutt, Brian Morris, John Brown and Tommy Blair.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.

JANICE LYNN ELROD

TALLADEGA — Funeral services for Janice Lynn Elrod, 42, of Talladega will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow from the Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega.

Janice passed away Dec. 16, 2005, at Citizens BMC.

Survivors are three daughters, Jenny Lynn Patterson and Susan Denham of Talladega, and Tina Patterson of Eastaboga; two sons, Phillip Gary Patterson Jr. of Eastaboga and Brian Henery of Talladega; a son-in-law, James Baker of Talladega; two brothers, Jim Elrod of Talladega and Rusty Elrod of San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Lynn T. Elrod of Talladega; and six grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Kevin Walker, Kevin Waldrup, Frankie Shane Pilkington, Timonthy Waldrup, Joseph Mann, Steve Longstreet, Brian Henery, Jason Phillips and Hargus Jackson.

Janice was a native of Calhoun County, but had lived most of her life in Talladega County. She was retired from Avondale Mills, and attended the Lincoln Church of God.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

BRENDA GAIL GEESLIN

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Brenda Gail Geeslin, 59, of Childersburg will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City. Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Cropwell.

Mrs. Geeslin died Friday, Dec. 16, at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife and mother, and was dedicated to and loved her grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her father, James Lloyd Martin.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Stanley Geeslin of Childersburg; a son, Kevin R. Geeslin of Pell City; two daughters, Candi Newman of Louisiana and Kelly R. Hosey of Childersburg; her mother, Donnis Richey Martin of Pell City; a brother, Travis Martin of Pell City; a sister, Janice Callahan of Pell City; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jayson Hosey, Windell Richey, Travis Martin, Mark Walker, Kevin Geeslin and Dell Smith.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Pell City.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Childersburg will direct the service.

VESTA HUTCHISON

GOODWATER — Vesta Hutchison, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Goodwater Nursing Home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time by Community Funeral Home.

CLAUDIE BASSETT JINKS

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Claudie Bassett Jinks of Childersburg will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Max Buttram officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jinks died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Jinks. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Harold Jinks and wife Linda of Childersburg; two daughters, Wanda Ridley and husband Larry of Sylacauga and Phyllis Boyett and husband Greg of LaGrange, Ga.; two sisters, Mamie Dudney of Childersburg and Marian Carr of Warrior; seven grandchildren, Beverly Fant and Heather Jinks, both of Atlanta, Jennifer Nickolson of Sylacauga, Pam Campbell and Clay Spivey, both of Childersburg, and Blake Boyett and Julia Boyett, both of LaGrange, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren, Collin Fant, Carson Fant, Lauren Campbell and Connor Spivey.

Pallbearers will be Randy Carr, Steve Carr, Gerald Carr, Harold Griffitt, Buddy Bassett and Gary Steve Acklin.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel.

GERALD J. NOAH

RAGLAND — Funeral service for Gerald J. Noah, 65, of Ragland, will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Hardin’s Chapel with the Revs. Doug Ford and Roger Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Noah died Dec. 16 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Noah; a daughter, Amy (David) Stickrath; a son, Greg (Janette) Noah; his mother, Nellie Noah; two grandchildren, Cheryl Noah and Jackson Stickrath; two brothers, Jimmy Noah and Donald Noah; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bob Champion, Steve Lawless, Jimmy Hugh Hathcox, Wayne Kitchens, Robert Bice and Jimmy Campbell.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

JAMES CHARLES PERKINS

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for James Charles Perkins, 60, of Sylacauga will be at Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Teal officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Perkins died Dec. 16, 2005, at his residence. Known as "The Switchman," he was married for 38 years to Donna Perkins and worked for BellSouth for 35 years. He was a member of the armed forces for four years and was a loving father, grandfather, son and friend.

Survivors include his mother, Clara Wilson of Sylacauga; three sons, James Charles Perkins Jr. of Ocean Springs, Miss., Matthew Scott Perkins of Talladega and Mark Perkins of Gadsden; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Harris, Avis Williams, James Charles Perkins Jr., Matthew Scott Perkins, Mark Perkins and Jason Harris.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

CECILIA (SISSY) BURTON PHILLIPS

TUSCALOOSA — Cecilia (Sissy) Burton Phillips, 32, died Nov. 23, 2005, at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Services were held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Thomas officiating. Burial was at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

Survivors include her son, Brandon David Phillips; her brother, Rusty Reynolds of Birmingham; her stepbrother, Zabun Burton of Tuscaloosa; her stepsister, Alicia Tosh of Jasper; and her mother, Jenny Sue Williams Burton of Tuscaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Burton of Tuscaloosa; her brother, Jeff Reynolds of Dothan; her grandparents, Jr. and Jo Williams of Bemiston and Claude and Bonnie Wade of Ironaton.

The family would like for you to remember them in your prayers.

Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directed the services.

ATTICUS ‘KID BOY’ SHORTER

SYLACAUGA — Funeral services for Atticus "Kid Boy" Shorter, 64, will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Community Funeral Home Chapel in Sylacauga. The Rev. Doyal Cook will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Shorter died Dec. 12 at Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

He is survived by two sons, Luther Earl Shorter and Lucious Shorter, both of Sylacauga; two sisters, Helen Shealy and Dorothy Shorter, both of Sylacauga; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and flowerbearers.

Viewing will be at Community Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 9 p.m.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.
