LEE R. BURLESON
CARROLLTON, Ga. - Mr. Lee R. Burleson, age 90, of Carrollton, Ga. died June 21 in an Atlanta hospital. Mr. Burleson was a native of Marion County, Ala., born August 14, 1914, the son of William Forbus Burleson and Sisley Lizza Morrow Burleson. He was a retired insurance agent with American General Life Insurance Company, and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Cooper Nicholas Burleson of Carrollton; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Jennie Raye Burleson of Carrollton and James Glendon Burleson of Fountain, Fla.; stepchildren, Julia N. and Tim Johnson of Carrollton, Rebecca N. and Tim Law of Rancho Dominguez, Calif., David J. and Rosemary P. Nicholas of Griffin, Ga; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Roberson, the Rev. Keith Runels and the Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating.
Music will be furnished by Becky Griffin and Donny Muse. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Catherine V. Liveoak, 78, of Sylacauga, will be Friday, June 24, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Ms. Liveoak died June 22 in Sylacauga. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, a talented artist and an avid gardener. She is survived by daughters, Rose Hammonds of Decatur, Jonina Stewart and husband, Johnny of Sylacauga, Debra Bugner and husband Mike of Gautier, Miss.; son, Dr. Talmadge Liveoak and wife, Dr. Deborah of Huntsville; sisters, Helen Osborn of Roswell, N.M., Eunice Talton of Sylacauga; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

BIRMINGHAM — Services for Mr. Eric Bernard Chatman, 31, of 2100 - 10th Ave. South Apt. A-8 will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Union Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Samuel Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. He died Thursday, June 23, at his residence.
Mr. Chatman was a Talladega County native, member of Union Spring Baptist Church, 1992 graduate of Lincoln High School, earned a cooking certificate in 1995 from E.H. Gentry in Talladega and was employed in food service at UAB.
He is survived by his parents, Hattie P. (Henry) Truss of Lincoln, General B. (Cindy) Gooden Jr. of Lawton, OK; four sisters, Latania (Marvin) Oldham II of Birmingham, Contessa Truss of Lincoln, Monica Gooden, Misty (Everett) Parks both of Lawton, OK; two brothers, Kendrick (Sabrietta) Truss of Oxford, Cedric Truss of Birmingham; grandparents, General B. (Ella) Gooden of Munford, Sarah Turner of Cleveland, Ohio, and a host of other relatives.
Edward Chatman, William Chatman, William Curry, Michael Edison, Michael Groce and Douglass McElderry will serve as pallbearers.
Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral services for Jim Smith, Jr. III, 48. Will be held on Monday at 2:00 P.M., at Community Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Erastus Godfrey will officiate. Burial will be in Sylacauga Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died on June 20, 2005 at Providence Medical Center in Everrett, WA.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Smith was employed with the Boeing Aircraft Company; and was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO, CLC Union in Everrett, WA.
He is survived by, his mother, Sammie Wells Smith of Sylacauga, ALA; son, Trenton Smith of Seattle WA., sisters, Sarah Fredricks of Douglasville, GA., Elizabeth Smith of Marietta, GA., Brenda Watson of Smyrna, GA.; brothers, Charles Smith of Goldsboro, NC., Micheal Smith of Jonesboro, GA., Larry D. Smith of Montgomery, AL., Arthur Smith of Sylacauga, AL., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Flowerbearers will be friends of the family.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home on Sunday 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
The family will receive friends for dinner on Monday after the burial at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Stewartville.

MRS. LOUDEAN SMITH ATCHLEY
SYLACAUGA — Graveside service for Mrs. Loudean Smith Atchley, 72, of Sylacauga will be June 28, 2005, at 11A.M. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery
with Dr. Bill Dean officiating.
Mrs. Atchley died at UAB in Birmingham, AL on June 24, 2005. Visitation will be Monday June 27 at the North Chapel from 6-8.
Survivors include Husband Clifford W. Atchley of Sylacauga, Al; two daughters, Teresa Rene Morris and Husband William of Deltona, FL; Myra Ann Worley and Husband Ray of Duckhill, Miss; special cousin Ruth Deason of Selma, AL; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one step daughter Cassandra Glass and husband Horace Franklin of High Point, N.C.; three step grandchildren and one step son: Thomas E. Atchley of Sylacauga, AL.
She was Nazarine by faith.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Mary Ball Bunn, 78, of Talladega will be held June 27 at 11:00 AM at Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Senton Horn officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Bunn died June 24, 2005 in Birmingham.
Visitation will be at Usrey Sunday 6-8 PM.
Native of Clay County. Mrs. Bunn lived most of her life in Talladega County. She was a member of The Northside Baptist Church in Talladega and was retired from the Talladega City Board of Recreation as a secretary.
Survivors include husband Franklin B. Bunn of Talladega; step daughter Frankie Lindon and husband David of Hoover, AL; step son Walter Bunn of Calypso, N.C.; two grand daughters Tracy Willis Acton and husband Bo of Talladega, Susan Marie Mashburn of Talladega; one grandson Matthew Lindon of Hoover, AL; two great grandchildren Andrew Joshua Acton and Alyssa Marie Acton; two brothers Daniel (Son) Ball and wife Shirley of Talladega, Charles Ball and wife Carolyn of Talladega.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Washam Keith.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Bunn, Joel Bunn, Arthur Bunn, Chuck Ball, Paulk Griffin and Carter Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Bates, John Woodard, Dorman Hughston and Munford High School Class of 1947.

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Ollie Walker, 84, of 152 Walker Street in Munford will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles M. Henderson Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in the Jenifer Community Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 P.M.
Mrs. Walker died June 22, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare Center.
Survivors include daughters Mary Guy, Chicago, IL; Diane Jemison, Gaynell Powell & Delmarshia Davey, all of Munford, AL; sons Donald Walker, Huntsville, AL; Lonnie Walker and Kenneth Walker both of Munford, AL; sisters Missouri Caves and Mae Cross both of Munford, AL; Annie P. Moss, Detroit, MI; and Gladys Jefferson, Chicago, IL; brothers Hugh Foster, Birmingham, AL; and George Foster, Houston, TX.
She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

FIVE POINTS - Mrs. Carolyn Barnes, 61, of Five Points died Friday, June 24, at Randolph County Hospital in Roanoke. Funeral Services were held Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Cecil Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Fredonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Barnes, Sr.; three sons, Jerry L. Barnes, Jr. of Roanoke and Terry Eugene Barnes and Michael Shane Barnes, both of Fredonia; two brothers, Nickie Shiftlett of Talladega, and Jeffrey Allen (Debra) Shiftlett of Roanoke; her stepmother Rosie Shiftlett of Talladega; and seven grandchildren.
Born in Alabama on July 27, 1943, Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Annie Fay Guffey Shiftlett and Charlie Ezra Shiftlett. She was a very talented artist in arts and crafts. The family received friends Sunday, June 26, from 3-6 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley handled arrangements.

She is survived by daughters, Jearlean Cameron and Earlean Richardson both of Talladega; sons, John Jemison of Buffalo, N.Y., Willie Jemison of Talladega, and Machael Jemison of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Edna Beason of Buffalo, N.Y.; brother, R.B. SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Linda Gail Whetstone, 58, will be Thursday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at Curtis and Son South Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Forbus officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Whetstone died Tuesday, June 28, at JBS Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, P.C. and Freda Sawyer and her brother, Richard Sawyer. She is survived by son, Mike Whetstone of Sylacauga; brothers, Mike Sawyer and Robert "Coot" Sawyer both of Sylacauga; sister, Bobbie Evans of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Tandi and Jason Whetstone of Sylacauga; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the South Chapel.
