MESQUITE, Texas - Mrs. Lecil "Petie" Blocker, 92, died Wednesday, June 15, at Bradfield House Assisted Living. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will announce arrangements.

VINCENT - Funeral services for Willie Bush, 85, of Vincent, will be Friday, June 17, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Harpersville. The Rev. Clarence Carter will be officiating. Burial will be in the Harpersville Cemetery.

Mr. Bush died June 14 at the Sylacauga Healthcare Center. He is survived by sons, Winford Bush of Birmingham, Terri Bush of Calera, Arthur Bush of Columbiana and Willie Bush of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Lorene Bush of Childersburg; brothers, Nelson Bush of Texas and Chester Bush of Cincinnati, Ohio; a loving companion Eldrich Lawson of Vincent; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Flower bearers will be friends of the family. Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Community Funeral Home will direct.

TONEY GARRETT

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral services for Toney Garrett will be Friday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Tallassahatchie Baptist church. The Rev. Jerry Jones will be officiating. Burial will be in the Tallassahatchie Cemetery. Mr. Garrett died June 10 at the Hamilton Alabama Infirmary. He is survived by sisters, Annie Pearl Greenlea and Doretha Stone both of Childersburg; brothers, Walter Charles, Larry Jo, and Ronnie Lee Garrett, all of Childersburg, and Earnest Melvin of Carson, Calif. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Flower bearers will be friends of the family. Community Funeral Home will direct.

BRENDA MILLER LAWLEY

TALLADEGA - Celebration of life service for Brenda Miller Lawley, 59, of Talladega will be Thursday, June 16, at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Harvey Bowlin Sr., the Rev. Eddie Forbus and the Rev. John Love officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawley had lived her entire life for the Lord and was accepted into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 12. Mrs. Lawley was a devoted prayer warrior and a member of the National Conquering Cancer Through Christ Prayer Team and many other prayer groups, and was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church of God. She was a precious, loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Randall Lawley of Talladega; daughter Pamela Bates and husband Glenn of Talladega; 2 grandchildren that were the light of her life, Bradley and Brandon Bates of Talladega; her mother, Cludie Miller of Talladega; her sister, Debbie Jones and husband Philip of Eastaboga; a nephew Kevin Jones of Talladega; a niece, Jennifer Jones of Eastaboga, and numerous friends and prayer partners from around the world.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Bates, Horace Bates, Kevin Jones, Tim Ward, James Foster and Gerald Lawley. Honorary pallbearers will be Conquering Cancer Through Christ Prayer Team. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 15, from 6-9 p.m. Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

DONALD E. MILSTEAD

LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. - Donald E. Milstead, 70, a native of Jackson, Ala., died at his home in LaFollette, Tenn. on Monday, June 6. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Milstead; three children, Donald E. Milstead, Jr. of Mansfield, Texas, Martin Lee Trowbridge, Jr. of LaFollette, Tenn., Tammy Trowbridge Holman (Anthony) of Hoschton, Ga.; four grandchildren; mother, Emmarene Milstead Dolbare of Jackson, Ala.; sisters, Aline D. Herrin (Tony) of Mobile, Ala., Glenda Dolbear of Jackson, Ala., Ina D. Williamson (Tom) of Theodore, Ala., Betty D. Johnson (Donnie) of Millry, Ala., and Mary Dolbear (John Butts) of Acworth, Ga. He was preceded in death by his sister, Reta D. McIntyre and stepfather, James Tollie Dolbare.

The funeral service was on Thursday, June 9, at Martin Wilson Chapel in LaFollette, Tenn., with internment on Friday, June 10, in Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette, Tenn. with Martin Wilson Funeral Home directing.

GERALD DOUGLAS "JERRY" TOWNSEND

PIEDMONT - Services for Gerald Douglas "Jerry" Townsend, 54, of Piedmont will be Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Chaplain Greg Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Townsend died Tuesday, June 14, at his home.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Townsend of Piedmont; aunt and uncle, Peggy and Doug Stabler of Montgomery; 2 sisters, Kathy Owen of Norcross, Ga. and Susette Wesley of Childersburg; 4 nieces, Brandi Bigbee and her husband Sammuel of Piedmont, Tiffany Mathis of Norcross, Ga., Alicia Wesley of Ensley and Carrie Wesley of Childersburg; 1 nephew, Russell Wesley of Childersburg; 4 great nieces and nephews, Gerald Bryant Bigbee, Alexis Bigbee, Kayley Bigbee and Adrian Wesley; and numerous friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Townsend was a native of Childersburg, a longtime resident of Birmingham and had lived in Piedmont for the past 23 years. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, MidSouth Division, Region 7, 1100 Ireland Way, Ste. 201, Birmingham, Ala. 35205.

DAVID EARL WINDSOR

ROCKFORD - Funeral services for Mr. David Earl Windsor, 68, of Rockford, will be Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at Rockford Baptist Church. The Rev. Wayne Henderson and the Rev. Jerry Smith will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the U.S.A.F. will follow at the Hissop-Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 4-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Windsor passed away on Wednesday, June 15, at his residence. He was born on November 24, 1936, in Montgomery to Floyd Burt Windsor and Bessie Alberta Nichols Windsor. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff and Chief Deputy Sheriff for Coosa County Sheriff's Department and was an Investigator for the Coosa County District Attorney's Office. He was a dedicated member of Rockford Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat Windsor of Rockford; sons, Floyd E. "Ed" Windsor and wife Angie of Alexander City, David Wayne Windsor and wife Buffy of Rockford and Kenneth A. Windsor and wife Theresa of Slap Out, Ala.; grandchildren, Blair Windsor, Josh Windsor, Corey Windsor, Matt FuQua, Payton Windsor, Will Windsor and Katie Windsor; sisters, Mary Gammell, Helen Page and Bennie Howell, all of Montgomery; special nephew, Mike Eaves and wife Bonnie of Montgomery and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Floyd B. Windsor and sisters, Ruth Ezzell and Norma Guse.

JEAN BROWNING ADAMSON

BIRMINGHAM - Jean Browning Adamson, 79, of Birmingham went to be with the Lord on June 16. She was a member of the Argo Christian Fellowship Church. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Jack Adamson; a daughter, Shirby Smith and a grandson, John Thomas Hughes. She is survived by her two sons, Donald J. (Mikki) Adamson, Sr. of Springville and Scott L. (Pam) Adamson of Pell City; a daughter, Judy A. (John, Sr.) Hughes of Springville; grandchildren, Tina (Ray) Owens, D.J. (Shelli) Adamson, Matt Adamson, Travis Adamson and Cassady (Chris) Luster; great grandchildren, Josh Owens, Tyler Owens, Grace Adamson, Adyson Luster and Jack Adamson; brother, Dwight Browning; and sister, Kathryn Edwards.

Funeral services will be at on Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with Pastor Troy Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. VINCENT - Funeral services for Gladys Mae Brantley, 76, will be Monday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Vincent with the Rev. Farrell Morris officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery. She died June 16. She is survived by daughter, Cyrethea Burbank; brother, Oide W. Duck; sister, Sunshine Robertson; grandchild, Autumn Michelle Golden; great-grandchild, Lily Bella Golden. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, from 6-9 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. VERLON "SLIM" QUESENBERRY

HOLLINS - Funeral services for Verlon "Slim" Quesenberry, 61, will be Sunday, June 19, at 2 p.m. at the Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Joe Thornburg, the Rev. Hurbert Gentry, the Rev. Edward Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Hollins Cemetery. Mr. Quesenberry died June 16 at his residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1966. He was the assistant pastor at Sylacauga Light Tower Church.

He is survived by wife, Donna Quesenberry of Hollins; sons, Rick Hernandez of Hollins, Andy Hernandez of Sylacauga, Ken Hernandez of Hollins, Teddy Hernandez of Hollins, Jack Hernandez of Stewartville, Verlon Quesenberry, Jr. of Hollins; daughters-in-law, Mona Hernandez of Sylacauga, Marissa Hernandez of Hollins, Christina Quesenberry of Hollins; daughters, Missy Dunster of Hollins, Kay Parker of Smyrna, Ga., Ginny Quesenberry of Menlo, Ga.; sons-in-law, Jason Dunster of Hollins, Eddie White of Pulaski, Va.; sisters, Brenda White of Pulaski, Va., Linda Quesenberry of Pulaski, Va., Linda Yost of Dublin, Va.; brother-in-law, Carl Yost of Dublin, Va.; aunts, Lois Stoots of Pulaski, Va., Betty Jones of Pulaski, Va., Mary Quesenberry of Smyrna, Ga.; uncle, Thomas Hyatt of N.C.; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Chuck Kornegay officiating. Mrs. Burroughs died June 21 at DCH Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alfred Burroughs; parents, Charles and Claudie Templin; brother, Forest Templin. She is survived by son, Michael (Judy) R. Burroughs of Northport; grandchildren, Susan (Jason) Burroughs Miles and Michael (Elizabeth) Fowler Burroughs; great grandchildren, Ellie Morgan Miles, Lilly Catherine Miles and Emma Elizabeth Burroughs. Visitation will be June 22, 6-9 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.

ROBERT WALLACE CALDWELL, SR.

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Robert Wallace Caldwell, Sr., 77, of Sylacauga, will be Thursday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Michael Russell officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Caldwell died June 21 in Birmingham. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by wife, Joyce Caldwell of Sylacauga; sons, Robert Caldwell, Jr. of Sylacauga, Mark L. Norris of Dauphin Island, Ben Caldwell of Atlanta, Ga., Johnny Norris of Birmingham; daughters, Marian Greene of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Karen Summers of Chelsa; brothers, Joe Caldwell of Pelham, Ga. and Fred Caldwell of Washingon State; sisters, Earnestine Sprayberry of Anderson, S.C., Glynda Drawhorn of Travelers Rest, S.C., Elousie Heacock of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. FRANCES BARKSDALE CARLSON

TAYLORS, S.C. - Frances Barksdale Carlson, of Taylors, S.C., died Friday, June 10, at the home of her daughter, Susan Skalak, in Charlottesville, Va. Her daughters, Susan and Martha, along with her granddaughter, Meagan, were with her.

Mrs. Carlson is survived by her daughters Martha Kaufman of Raleigh, N.C. and Susan Skalak of Charlottesville, Va.; her sister, Anne Eanes of Danville, Va.; her brother, Harry Barksdale of Danville, Va.; her sister, Nancy Via of Charlestown, W.Va.; her sister, Pat Napoles of Tempe, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Meagan and Eliot Kaufman of Raleigh, N.C. and Scott and Linden Skalak of Charlottesville, Va.

Mrs. Carlson was one of five children born to Mattie and Charles Barksdale on July 6, 1921, in Danville, Va. She worked in Washington, D.C. at Walter Reed Hospital, during the later years of World War II. She married Burt Donald Carlson on November 21, 1945, and in the early 1950s they moved to Sylacauga, where they settled to raise a family.

Mrs. Carlson devoted herself to building a loving home for her husband and family. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress, making her children and grandchildren beautiful clothes that they cherish to this day. She was a talented cook, known by neighbors and friends for her wonderful baked goods. She left a legacy of beautiful handwork as well.

Mrs. Carlson was outgoing, and never met a stranger. She made friends wherever she lived, moving with her family to Georgia, North Carolina, and finally to South Carolina, where she lived with her beloved husband for the past 23 years. She was a giving person, teaching her children and grandchildren compassion and kindness. A memorial service will be at on Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to go in remembrance of Mrs. Carlson to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road, Suite #2, Charlottesville, Va 22903.

ANN SIMS HUMPHREY

FULTONDALE - Ann Sims Humphrey, 79, of Fultondale, Ala. died Sunday, June 19. She was born July 19, 1925. She was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eloys (D.E.) Humphrey. She is survived by daughter, Kay Fortenberry of Leeds; sister, Hersey Smallwood of Mobile; two grandchildren and six and a half great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Walker Chapel Funeral Home Wednesday, June 22, from 2-4 p.m. with Graveside at 4 p.m. at Walker Memorial Gardens in Fultondale. Walker Chapel Funeral Home will direct the service.

DAVISTON - Funeral services for Sible Knight of Daviston will be Thursday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Memorial Gardens. Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Mary F. Major Moates, 63 will be June 22, 11 a.m. at funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary will direct service.

DUSTIN "DUSTY" PERRY MYRICK

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Dustin "Dusty" Perry Myrick, 19, of Sylacauga will be Thursday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Myrick died Monday, June 20. He was a graduate of Sylacauga High School, class of 2004. He attended First Baptist Church in Sylacauga. Dusty was an avid drawer and enjoyed art very much. He also enjoyed all types of outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Love Teaford; He is survived by father, Robert Leon Myrick of Childersburg; mother, Susan Myrick of Sylacauga; sisters, Traci Gay Martin and husband Shane of Vincent, Christine Michele Cordel and husband Mike of Virginia, Nancy Renee Prather and husband Sam of Kentucky; brothers, Christian Wayne Gay of Sylacauga and Robert Paul Myrick of Kentucky; grandparents, Louise Teaford of Sylacauga and Bill and Jewell Myrick of Childersburg. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be friends and classmates. Honorary pallbearers will be Sylacauga High School class of 2004. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
