Mr. Brasher died Thursday, June 2. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Davis Brasher; sons, Duke Brasher and Steve Brasher; daughters, Linda Ledlow and Patti Crump; brother, R.P. Mrs. Beckett passed away June 7. She was a loving mother and homemaker, a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and the citizens Friday Card Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Arthur Lee Beckett. She is survived by daughters Brenda Beckett Dean and husband Elder Bufrey of Sylacauga, Peggy Beckett Johnson and husband Sam of Sylacauga, Wanda Beckett McCain and husband Reggie of Alabaster, Sue Beckett Smitherman and husband Perry of Sylacauga, and Vickie Beckett McCarthy and husband Milton of Vestavia Hills; sister, Edna Miller and husband Jack of Weogufka; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Casey was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, and was retired from W & W Heating and cooling Company, with 36 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Neomi Sewell Casey; sons, Don Shelton and Jimmy Wayne Casey, and brother, W.J. Casey. He is survived by daughters, Elaine Waters of Millerville, Connie Guyther of Oxford, Kathy Nunis of Talladega and Tinnie Pitts of Talladega; sons, Roy Leonard Casey Jr. of Talladega, Michael Hal Casey of Talladega and Donald Wayne Johnson of Talladega; sisters, Dixie Micinnish of California, Jeanette Cannon of Sylacauga and Joyce Brewer of Talladega; brothers James Casey and Harvey "Comer" Casey both of Talladega; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons, Calvin Dudley, MD, of Albuquerque, N.M., Jimmie Dudley and Ward Dudley. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Robert Earl Edwards, 63, will be Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Wayne McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Edwards died Sunday, June 5, at Brookwood Medical Center. A native of Sycamore, he served in the U.S. Army and was employed by Floyd and Beasley Transfer Co., Inc. since August of 1961, and a member of Sylacauga Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie B. Edwards, and nephew, Lorne Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Wesson Edwards of Sylacauga; daughter, Carla Jane Edwards Chappell and husband Kevin Dewayne of Sylacauga; mother, Ressie Edwards of Prattville; sister, Judy Knox and husband Jerry of Prattville; brother, Leroy Edwards of Sycamore; granddaughter, Christine Elizabeth Chappell of Sylacauga; grandson, Robert Matthew Chappell of Sylacauga; niece, Teresa Stinson and husband Ray; nephew, Jason Edwards; great niece, Haley Prescott; great nephew, Dallas Prescott. Mrs. Garrett passed away June 4 at University Hospital. She was a member of Move God Deliverance Tabernacle of Goodwater and Camp Hill. She is survived by daughters, Lisa and Sharon Garrett, both of Talladega; mother, Estell Jackson of Talladega, and brother, Thomas Garrett of Atlanta, Ga. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary directing.

TALLADEGA - Funeral services for William Demus Frazier, 84, 822 West Battle Street, will be Friday, 2:30 p.m. at Terry's Chapel, with the Rev. B. E. McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Frazier died June 4 at Russell Medical Center. He was a graduate of Drewry High School, attended Talladega College and was employed by Brooks Foundry. He was an honorably discharged veteran of WWII. He is survived by daughters Carol E. Frazier and Jacquelyn O. Cantey, both of Bronx, N.Y.; sons William D. Frazier Jr. and James D. Frazier, both of Talladega, Roger A. Frazier, Chicago, Ill.; sister Fannie E. Hicklin, Madison, Wis. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.
REV. LEWIS HAMILTON JR.
SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for the Rev. Lewis Hamilton Jr., 89, will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sylacauga, with the Rev. Roosevelt Petterson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The Rev. Lewis Hamilton Jr. was born July 6, 1915 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hamilton Sr. in Talladega County. He confessed Christ at an early age with the Harper Spring Baptist Church and later moved his membership to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He united in Holy matrimony to the late Annie Lou Pope on January 4, 1956.
Lewis departed his life Monday, June 6, at the Pleasant Grove Healthcare, Pleasant Grove. He leaves to cherish his memories four sons Andrew L. Hamilton of Detroit, Mich., David Hamilton of Homewood, Joe Ashley (Pearlie) of Sylacauga, Johnny Ashley (Annette) of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters Willie B. Scott (Curtis) Dayton, Ohio, Emma Jr. Turner of Sylacauga; two brothers, Tommie Hamilton (Maza) of Orlando, Fla. and Morgan Cook (Mattie) of Detroit, Mich., grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousin and other relatives.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and flower bearers. On Thursday the body may be viewed at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. and at the Church Friday, 2-3 p.m. Childersburg Mortuary Services will direct the service.

Mr. Bates died Thursday, June 9. He was preceded in death by his brother, Macon Bates. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Bates of Logan Martin; daughters, Joey Patterson of Childersburg, Julie Quigley of Birmingham, Erin Collins and husband, Brett of Goldsboro, N.C. and Shanna Quigley of Birmingham; grandchildren, Hunter Collins, Taylor Patterson, Holden Collins and Ava Valerie Collins; a nephew, Greg Bates and wife, Carla of Childersburg; great niece, Regan Bates and great nephew, Trevor Bates; as well as numerous friends.

ARITON — Mary G Cotter, 81 of Hwy 51, Ariton (Old Tabernacle Community) passed away Monday afternoon, June 6, in Enterprise following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 8, from Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Jones and the Rev. Fred Hollis officiating. Burial followed in the Old Tabernacle Cemetery
with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. She was placed in the church one hour before service time.

Mrs. Cotter was born September 8, 1923 in Coffee County to the late Joseph C and Naomi Bottoms Speigner. She retired from Alatex, a former Enterprise manufacturing company, where she served as a supervisor for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.K. (Kermit) Cotter, a sister Nell Speigner Ellis, and a stepmother, Mamie Austin Speigner.
Survivors include a son, Kermit G. Cotter (Nancy), Talladega; grandson Chris Cotter (Stefanie), Hoover; a great granddaughter, Gracie Cain Cotter, Hoover; a brother in law O.C. Ellis, Enterprise; sisters Sallie Graves (Willie) , Chattahoochee, FL; and Ruby Crumpler (Zelda), Enterprise; brother O'Neal Speigner (Janice), Enterprise; niece Ann Cotter Owens, Geneva; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Florence M. Gilbert was born in Norwich, England on March 15, 1922, and died peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga. Florence M. Gilbert is survived by her husband, James E. Gilbert of Sylacauga; a daughter, Barbara M. Robertson and Bill Shaw of Sylacauga; two sons, Thomas George Gilbert and wife Katie of Talladega and James Lamar Gilbert and wife Joyce of Warrior; a sister, Audrey Cooke-Smith of England; grandchildren, Michael Gilbert, Eric Howell, Ginger Howell, Ralph Carter, Renee Carter, Robert Carter, Charity Monistere, Hope Peebles and Teff Ayral; and Roger Bunn, Dorothy Clapton, George Clapton, Annette Petty and Chris Petty of England, as well as several other family members in England.
Pallbearers were Chuck Terrell, Jim Ray, Jeremy Browning, Johnny Jones, Joe Sharit Ralph Carter and Kennon McArthur.
