FRANCES R. OWEN

LINCOLN - Funeral service for Frances R. Owen, 65, will be Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Tim Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln City Cemetery.

Mrs. Owen died Jan. 16 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was a native of Calhoun County and was a resident of Lincoln for most of her life. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Green and John Green; and her mother, Lillie Mae Green.

She is survived by daughter, Patricia Macon and husband Charles Douglas Macon of Lincoln; sons, Tony Russell of Oxford and Jerry Russell of Lincoln; brothers, Frank Lindsey of Big Springs, Texas and Charles Green of Lincoln; and grandchildren, Jeremy Macon, Tonya Tollison and Darrell Anderson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lew Watson, Dennis Surrett, Joey Callahan, Brian Stone, Matt Hill and David Macon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Julian King, Chris Watson and Tommy Carlisle.

Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

ALBERT PRICE

LEEDS - Graveside service for Albert "Buddy" Price, 76, was Monday, Jan. 17, at noon in Forest Crest Cemetery.

Mr. Price died Jan. 14.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Price; son, Jay Price; daughters, Brenda Wells and Pattie Warren; sister, Peggy Sue Knight; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds directed the service.

JEFFIE FRANKLIN ROBINSON

SYLACAUGA - Graveside service for Jeffie Franklin Robinson, 99, will be Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Grice officiating.

Mr. Robinson died Jan. 17 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Robinson; sons, Lester Robinson and Lowell Robinson; and three grandchildren. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He loved to garden and do carpentry work.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kate Robinson of Sylacauga; sons, Billy Robinson and wife Annette of Montgomery, Eddie Robinson and wife Alphe of Sylacauga and Donnie Robinson of Sylacauga; daughters, Ellen Dennis of Millbrook, Edna Parnell and husband Robert of Sylacauga and Sue Ragsdale and husband William of Montgomery; sister, Lona Brazier of Sylacauga; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

CHILDERSBURG - Doris Wallace, 63, died Jan. 16 at University Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home.

JUANITA A. WERDEHOFF

SYLACAUGA - Juanita A. Werdehoff, 77, died Jan. 17 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home.

TALLADEGA - Chuck Wesley, 39, died Jan. 16 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

BARBARA NAN WILKES

SYLACAUGA - Graveside service for Barbara Nan Wilkes, 71, will be Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. in Bay Springs Cemetery in Bay Springs, Miss., with the Rev. Keith Bishop officiating.

Mrs. Wilkes died Jan. 15 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Wilkes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, a member of the Silver Tones Choir and the Metallic Club. She was director of the W.M.U., was a fifth grade Sunday school teacher, was on the decorating committee and co-ed Sunday school class.

She is survived by daughters, Suzanne Herrington of Bay Springs, Miss., and Jackie Heckman of Decatur; son, Wesley Wilkes of Sylacauga; special friend, Bloise Zeigler of Sylacauga; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

ERNEST MORRIS

WILSONVILLE — Funeral service for Ernest Morris, 86, of 8351 S. Main St., will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Alpine with the Rev. Willie Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Morris died Jan. 14 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Morris and Bettye Keath Morris; seven sisters; and six brothers. He was an honorably discharged veteran of World War II and was awarded the A.T.O. Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with more than 30 years of service. He was a deacon and member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a member of Amvets Post No. 25.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Jackson Morris of Detroit, Mich.; daughters, Janice Brasher of Wilsonville and Sharon Lee of Talladega; son, Ernest Cleveland of Vacaville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

LYNDON B. MAINOR

SYLACAUGA — Lyndon B. Mainor, 29, died Jan. 18 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Madden’s Funeral Service.

BETTY JOYCE GIBSON MORRIS

VINCENT — Funeral service for Betty Joyce Gibson Morris, 62, will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Don Grace officiating. Burial will be in Vincent Cemetery.

Mrs. Morris died Jan. 17 at Brookwood Medical Center.

She is survived by sons, Marty Gibson of Sycamore and James Morris of Childersburg; brothers, Martin Gibson, Junior Gibson and Arthur Gibson of Vincent; sisters, Bernice Murphy of Vincent and Mary Ann Husky of Sylacauga; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Murphy, Eddie Murphy, Gary Murphy, Mike Gibson, Steven Gibson and Sonny Gibson.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

LETHANIEL TURNER

EASTABOGA — Lethaniel Turner, 54, died Jan. 17.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

SEMUS WALKER

BYNUM — Funeral service for Semus Walker, 91, will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at New Hope C.M.E. Church in Bynum with Cleveland Moore officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Walker died Jan. 14 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City. He was a member of New Hope C.M.E. Church and was chairman of the trustee board. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Brock Walker of Bynum; son, Clemmon Walker of Anniston; daughters, Gloria Walker of Marietta, Ga., Bobby Walker of Eastaboga, V. Lynne Mason of Dunwoody, Ga., and Lisa Johnson of Newburn, N.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

DORIS JEAN HURST WALLACE

HARPERSVILLE — Funeral service for Doris Jean Hurst Wallace, 63, will be Friday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Jerry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Tallassahatchie Cemetery.

Mrs. Wallace died Jan. 16 at University Hospital. She was married for 45 years and was a native of Talladega County.

She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Wallace of Harpersville; sons, Donnie Wallace and wife Lisa of Sylacauga and Ronnie Wallace of Harpersville; daughters, Alesia Theroux of Harpersville and Wanda Ganey and husband James of Childersburg; grandchildren, Daniel Lynn Gardner of Harpersville, Donna Danielle Gardner of Harpersville, Jennifer Gail Wallace of Harpersville, James Darrion Ganey Jr. of Childersburg, Tracy Lynn Theroux of Harpersville and J.T. Ganey of Childersburg; her mother, Lavada Hurst of Sylacauga; brother, R.V. Hurst of Heflin; and sisters, Ruth White of Childersburg and Geneva Morris of Sylacauga.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Meade, Craig Wallace, Anthony Edwards, Jeff Parrett, Eugene Goodwin and James Ganey.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.
