PELL CITY - Funeral service for Latashia Renee Jackson, 20, will be Thursday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor W.L. Martin officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church Cemetery
in Cropwell.
Ms. Jackson died Dec. 31 at University Hospital.
She is survived by her mother, Janette Peterson of Pell City; her father, Willie Joe Oden of Pell City; stepfather, George Mixon of Anniston; brother, Spencer Sanders of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Candace Jackson and Marlene Jackson of Pell City; stepsisters, Charlotte Peterson and Cherly Collins of Pell City; grandparents, L.J. Jackson and Lena Jackson of Pell City and Bubba Oden of Pell City; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Alan Jackson, Mario Sanders, Ervin Ellis, Chris Bedford, Jackie Ragland, Demetrice Bedford, Steven Sanders, James Bedford, Deonta Jackson and Jamie Bush.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m.

HARPERSVILLE - Funeral service for Clifton Edward (Chuck) Abbott, 78, will be Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. William Rayfield officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery.
Mr. Abbott died Jan. 3 at his residence. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by sons, Larry D. Smith and wife Nancy of Sylacauga and William Thomas Abbott and wife Bobby of Alexander City; daughters, Carolyn Whitten and husband Ken of Childersburg, Lisa Bracknell and husband Curtis of Lawley and Sue Abbott of Sylacauga; brother, Olin Abbott and wife Annie of Harpersville; sisters, Thelma Collins and husband Olin of Harpersville, Wilma Riddle and husband Frank Delnor of Harpersville and Shirley Smith and husband Benny of Hueytown; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Smith, John Kissick, Benny Smith, Brett Landers, Johnny Perry and Franklin Delnor Riddle.

LINEVILLE - Funeral service for Jessie V.L. Lett, 91, will be Thursday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Brother Clarence Wood and Brother Doug Owen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lett died Jan. 3 at Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lett; a daughter, Sharon Watts; and a son, Travis Lett.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia Jenkins of Ashland; sons, Wayne Lett of Birmingham, Ronald Lett of Lineville, Ray Lett of Sylacauga and Randy Lett of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Mavis Allen of Lineville, Ruth Hornsby of Ashland, Cassie Heath of Talladega and Ohara McGilberry of Childersburg; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wade Jenkins, Chris Lett, Dr. Patrick Lett, Jeremy Lett, Josh Lett, Justin Lett, Daniel Farr, Gabriel Farr, Andrew Smith, Butch Sprayberry and Scott Sprayberry.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Betty Jo Martin, 73, will be Thursday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Penny Drummond officiating.
Mrs. Martin died Jan. 3 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. She was a lifelong resident of Talladega and retired from Palm Beach in Talladega. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a graduate of Winterboro High School. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Martin.
She is survived by her mother, Laura Clinkscale of Talladega; daughter, Angelia Laura Montgomery of Eastaboga; son, Greg Martin of Talladega; grandchildren, Anthony Montgomery, Antonia Montgomery, James Montgomery, Lindsey Montgomery, Jennifer Montgomery, Megan Martin and Lindsey Martin; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pope died Jan. 4 at her residence. She was a native of Talladega and lived here most of her life before moving to Clanton three years ago. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Talladega, where she attended the Allie Farmer Sunday School Class. She was retired from Crown Textile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Mary Elizabeth Johnson; brother, a Ray Johnson; sister, a Mary Elizabeth Pilkington; sons, Ben O. and Donald S. Pope; and grandson, David E. Arnold.
She is survived by daughters, Bobbie and Billy Tipton of Clanton and Priscilla Pope Arnold of Talladega; son, Charles and Flora Mae Pope of Talladega; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Southern Care Hospice.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
